Thanks for the video ordered the materials and heading out on the coast here in the north of Ireland for sea trout. No doubt your video is a great help. I've subscribed.
You mentioned around 5:14 that you have your rotary vise on a foot peddle. What brand/model of vise are you using and where can a foot peddle to rotate the vice be purchased? Much thanks.
Hi Barry, you tie great eel flies and any fly you tie with body tubing is fantastic. I like the glow eyes too and have tied floating and sinking body tubing lures with Everglow tubing that glows in the dark. A favorite night pattern I tie for smallmouth doesn't use tubing but peacock / black sparkle chenille and 4 strands of a light violet Krystal Flash for a tail. I had originally tied it as a black beaded bugger with a marabou and flash tail but I cut out the marabou and the fish killed it after that. Caught lots of smallies, sheepshead and even walleye on it at night, bounced around the rock riprap on a lake I fish. (that lake recently produced a 36 lb, 42.75 inch sheepshead, a new state record!) Your feather tailed eel and other flies are on my list to try. Many thanks for all your work!
Great pattern and the video is great instruction -- should make the fly easy to tie. Just one question, why use white thread and color it black, rather than just using black thread?
Hi I’m really sorry to bother you, but I’ve watched (love the vid by the way) over an over, looked on the pinned comments and in your own blog post page. But I can’t see what size !! The tubing is ? 4mm or 8mm ect ect ? Can someone let me know as I want to try an tie this one 😍😎🇬🇧👍
