Thanks so much for your support! Much love!

Thanks for all your hard work and care to help tell the our brands story, Eric! 🙌
Pleasure was all ours, my man. 😊
I’ve worked with the sun a few times. Stubborn but affordable.
Patrick, I love you and your comments. You just need to know that.
@@EricFloberg ❤️
Can I put this on my bio, on IG ? I really love your comment ! O.O
Love this!! Epic vids as always Eric!
Incredible work as always, your such a huge inspiration! And thanks for being honest about not switching back to Raw, lots of other creators would never admit that!
Thanks Eric! Your work is so inspirational. Absolutely love the emotion you pull from people! 😁
Final edit gave me chills. You guys nailed it
I was trying to figure out why I love your videos so much... And there's many reasons! But most notably: your soothing Bob Ross voice!
When you find your own joke so funny you made a video out of it. That's so Eric. 😂 Awesome commercial in the end.
Eric! Been watching all of your videos over the past few weeks, I think I've finished them all. You are an inspiration man! Keep up the work, and thanks for sharing so much with us!
Wow. That means so freaking much. Thank you for the support!!
Great breakdown! Thanks for sharing all the insight.
So so glad to have come across your channel Eric! Mucho appriciato for these videos !
Love your story telling man !!
Love this spot! Thanks for breaking it down
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!!
Dude that was so clean! And I’m inloved with the sound design and cinematography on it
Love the video, man. And bonus content with that little Cartel snippet at 1:20 Solid choice of tunes!!!
Loved this video and just using the natural light in the garage! Super nice video and awesome insight! 💯✔️🔥
Thanks so much! Sometimes it's just that easy 😏
New subscriber here after watching this. Awesome to hear the thought process and breaking it down. Doing that with all natural light turned out so great. Look forward to watching more of your content man.
That Cartel though! ^_^
I'm going to listen to "Say Anything" on my commute home now lol.
But honestly (no pun intended), this was a great video! I do always enjoy nerding out on technical gear related stuff, but what I really liked about this video was the personal aspect. I really liked how it felt like you were interacting with real people. I mean, your clients are always real people, but I guess it's possible you can get lost in the work and not see them as that anymore.. Does that make sense? It sounded right in my head but now as I'm typing it out I'm not sure if I'm I'm getting it across right lol. I think what I mean is that in this video and in your commercial you were able to capture the warmth of family life, it felt genuine, not sterile or manufactured. Being a husband and a dad myself, I could relate with the scenes of hanging out with the kids in the backyard. It felt ordinary, and I mean that in a good way. It felt like you were a normal person interacting with other normal people. And being able to hear about something as simple as friends volunteering to make breakfast, the whole thing just felt really approachable. (Sorry if my rambling didn't make sense lol) Suffice it to say, well done on creating something that I could really connect with! (:
Hi Eric, I'm glad I came across your channel. Over the past couple years of getting into video I've learned a lot from the folks like McKinnon, Gevirtz, Odisho, etc., etc. Now I have the pleasure of learning from you as well. Continue your great work and know that you are inspiring people and making a difference. Love from Birmingham AL.
Incredible work Eric 👌
I don't care about light or no light, I care about how you treat people and you're doing a really great job with that. 👏
Awesome video!
love it! cool to see you in Kentucky!
Such an awesome place!
Nice work! Definitely one to be proud to have made.
"It was a weekdays" I will now say this to all my friends now
bahahaha
You are an inspiration for my channel!!
Totally agree ditching the strobes aside sometimes, especially when the brand involves natural material and labor. Natural light is always a fun source and process to interact with on any shoot =)
Very awesome thanks for the breakdown :D
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Great work friend!
Thanks so much, Quinten! Just realizing now that I never responded to your text. So sorry dude!
I really like the organic feeling with the minimax.
I think I know my next purchase haha
Good video Eric!
Epic. Honestly, one of my favorite pieces of gear now. :) Thanks so much!
Awesome work man! The commercial was def very well done. Question, the last shot of you sitting down with the backdrops behind you, was that handheld or a handheld effect?
solid pronunciation of Louisville. appreciate that detail
Love your work ! However, I do have a question why do you transcode the footage to ProRes 1080p to then upscale to 4k just seems like extra work unless your computer couldn't handle the raw or if you want to save on memory space or maybe both lol. I would love to hear your point on that. Other than that keep creating man!
I’m in … like to know that too. Maybe I missed the shoot? What’s the reason of upscaling from a smaller resolution to a 4x times higher one?
@@briandelacruz3631 exactly and he's already shooting in 4k raw lite I believe he mentioned.
Is he (the create of this video) only using the converted ProRes FHD material for proxy-editing only? That could some how make sense because it would decreases the work-load of his editing-station. . He then scales up the proxies just for editing in a 4K project. And later on replaces them again back to the original footage and export it (in 4K). But I’m just assuming 🧘🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
@@briandelacruz3631 i don t get it tho, he later says that by mistake they recorded day 2 in 1080p 8 bit and then upscaled the footage to 4k but it was not a problem for him because they where doing the same with the raw footage, so in don t think is for proxie purposes , really weird workflow, why recording raw lite if you are going to transcode to proress anyway and then destroy the image downgrading it to 1080
Sheeeeeesh 🤯
😏 what a compliment
So epic
Yep, awesome job as always. I loved the edit and the song at Kentucky Vlog, whats the name of that one? Keep it up! 💪🏻
Hmmm..
You got quality bro ! ❤️
thanks so much!
Cartel car jams are always the move! 🔥🔥
Great video very informative and the finished commercial looks epic! I'm curious about the editing I notice more and more very rushed cuts, especially nowdays in instagram reels. You used that on a few occasions here as a planned creative choice, or just had too many good shots and wanted to show a little of each, or is this just becoming a necessary technique because this is the trend now?
This is fantastic. What font did you use for the thumbnail?
Whatsup Eric. Cool video. Where did you get your shirt from? (Serious question, I want one like that) Thanks man
I really cool aspect of the commercial was the sound and the song honestly.
Are you a stock song person? How did you get the song to fit so well with the swells and timing? I’ve chopped up stock songs to all hell before to get it to fit my videos and am curious if others do the same.
Do you use pull manual focus or rely on autofocus?
Curious as to what your export settings for social media platforms like Instagram to retain all that information. I use premiere
Nice work! Which software does u use when u transcode and upscale, adobe pr or davinci? Thanks!
DaVinci for transcode, Premiere for editing 🤙🏼
@@EricFloberg Cool! Thanks!!!
I thought I was the only one that was particular about my eggs.
*insert Michael Scott as Date Mike* “how do you like your eggs in the morning?” 😉😏😉
@@EricFloberg 😂😂
did you go through iowa?
I think about my incredibly stressful career and think......I should learn a craft 😀
question: why are you so amazing
As always, awesome video. Though, if I may add a bit of criticism, I don't think you needed all the text on the screen. It kind of took away from the action. I think the visuals and audio were powerful enough to carry the message of the video
Glad I'm not the only still rocking Cartel while driving lol
Hey ...nice
Hey ...thanks
Super fun video and BTS! One thing I'm baffled by: you mentioned shooting in raw, transcoding to 1080p, and then upscaling back to 4k on export... What?? Why downscale to 1080p and then upscale back to 4k? You're throwing away so much color and resolution just to try and artificially get it back with upscaling.
1:19 shoutout to Cartel - Honestly.
waiting for a patreon bts of the bts of the making of this commercial 😂
😏😏😏
Do wanna know what emo jam was on in the car
Lol you gotta ask Braxton about that 😂
Shout out mikes cat allergies
bahahahaha we were gonna ad that bit but it got too long bahahah
Lolz
The UA-cam Algorithm brought me here today... Thank YT!
transcode to 1080 and upscale to 4K??? Why?
Faster workflow, less data storage, insignificant quality loss (in my opinion), especially when posting the video to the internet.
bought a c200 cause of you….just wanna be like my dad 😂😂😂
LET'S GO CHASE
I would’ve been here sooner but I was watching ads so you can pay me
lol - Braxton over here watching a 50 minute pre-roll ad hahaha
Gotta get that ad rev babbyyyy
Interesting ad.
Few things (don't kill me):
- Voiceover needs to be a bit higher in volume. Words are a bit unclear. 40/60 Rule. 40% song - 60% voiceover
-That music "stop" feels a bit ... odd. It feels like that part was deleted by accident from the timeline.
The image looks amazing giving the fact that is only sunlight. This is remarcable!
If i were to edi this ad, I would had just started with the fabricating montage, without the opening garage door scene. It feels odd to show me a door opening and after that the guy standing in dark still not ready to open that door. You show me that will to into and adventure and 3 frames later you show me that you are still peparing to show me that will to into and adventure.
You could have put those 2 frames from the start, right before he actually starts doing the work. If not, you could give up on that 3 shots in the dark. We tend to sometime keep more in the edit just because it looks nice. You could had started with him taking photos. There were quite a few option to choose from. The script seem decent!
12 years as a sound engineer/video editor doing all sort of neaty picky work. Seeing this kind of details is my job... and a curse.
Please don't take my input as criticism. I really like your work!
If you film weddings, you can film anything. (Calibrate 2021)
TRUTH
I don't understand the workflow of shooting at 4K, transcoding to 1080p, editing and then upscaling back to 4K. for output. Why not edit the 4K raw and output to 4K? There's got to be a quality hit with the workflow you've used here.
Can you explain this maybe in another video?
EDIT: and I now see I'm not the only one asked this ?.....
Fast transcode, ProRes HQ edits like butter in premiere, less storage for archiving footage, minimal quality difference between 1080 upscaled as opposed to 4k ProRes (still very much looks like 4k), especially when the video lives on social media and the client’s website.
Mr. Sun. I have a love and hate relationship with him
Cartel? Nice.
Bro the cap u r wearing is not suiting u.
