I have big issues with eyes. Looking through aiming pod is painful for me. By having such thing it will make gaming for me bring less issued. So it should be added. But to counter it they can add squadron long range AA. Cost also shouldn't be increased if they are good AA.
SPAA were built to deal with those planes. The problem in War Thunder is that those planes have near perfect vision and can pull crazy maneuvers that no pilot could ever consistently do in real life.
@@BulletRain100 The SPAA we have in game were built to deal with the few things that managed to get past Patriots, S-300 etc. That's why countries like the US almost completely gave up on the idea of integrating SPAA into armored units at one point.

2:07 looking at the wiki, lowest RB BR (not sure if Air RB or Ground RB) for CCRP would be the A21A-3 at 4.3 with a single 600 kg bomb being it's biggest bomb load, next highest would be the F-84B-26 at 7.0 with 2x1000 lb bombs being biggest bomb load then it starts becoming more common at around 8.3+ with multiple nations having the F-84F for example that could carry 2x2000 lb & 2x1000 lb bombs.

I've done fine on my own hundreds of times without any air on my team despite getting camped. And when there are planes up, they don't kill the campers anyway, so that's another one scratched off the list.

To add to a point I've already made here, I have played out an innumerable amount of matches which never had a single plane up. It was, at one time, more common than one might initially expect. Of course those days are all but over now, and the quality of gameplay has notably declined greatly since then. I won't pretend it's all the planes' fault, there have been plenty of catastrophic additions to ground since those days, but planes are a significant factor. Especially since map design hasn't improved even a little bit. I think a fun idea would be to add some subterranean maps, like salt mines or something. Would add a bit of variety and an escape for tanks from their airborne persecutors without getting their knickers in a twist, since their bells are so easily rung.
i saw how a guy uses this with the missiles on the eurofighter you can just let them fly too your target point wile flying low and then pop up seconds before they land to do final guidance its crazy
Only thing it changes is fact that people don't need to now EXACTLY where spawns are. You could mark the spawns with designator by looking on the place where you want to designate and pressing the key bind. Its shrimple as that, now its simplier
im hoping that if they introduce systems like the patriot or s400 hopefully they are accessable to everyone like drones in top tier or otherwise you will only have 2-3 people per team in a match using them.
A s400 and pattriot attery is massive, they will have to cut off a lot of the extra parts for them to even fit in a map. E.g the s400 battery has a 25m tall radar to search higher

Busted af, i called the cas problem out years ago when they f**ked up the missile handling! It's only gotten worse and this is the cherry on the top. This has allowed cas to fully translate into the point and click adventure.

Increasing the rewards for spaa and air kills in ground needs to happen because right now getting like 5 air kills is worth less than one ground kill as far as mission score.
For air sim I have been longing for functions like this for ever! Instead of tapping through 20 targets looking for which is which, this makes identifying places much easier. But if this makes cas much more potent, there should be some limitations regarding ground battles. At least until good AA gets introduced on all nations.
True, as a Air SB player, grinding F-111 is pain because it dont have modern HUD, and it also don't work as a target marker as well (like on the Squadron Su-22) but only works as a bomb release timer, so you dont even know if you're heading to the correct target, and the timer will still count down lol
Instead of an AA ground vehhicle, I often take a 2nd aircraft that is specifically for CAP and I have great fun clearing the skies of enemy CAS aircraft. The best AA is another plane.
At this point, the only way for gaijin to balance grb against cas is reducing sp of air crafts with only aa loadouts so that they are equal to ground aa systems if they just want jet in grb
I get that CAS frustrates people, but I’ve accepted it as part of the game. Getting killed by CAS doesn’t annoy me any more than getting killed by a tank.
Yeah, now do it against an actual players. Flying jet is 10 times harder then sitting behind a rock in a tank or picking pantsir after you just died twice without landing a single shot.

It's simple. No one is going to buy a 70 to 80 dollar jet if you can't spawn it in till the match is almost over and it gets slapped out of the sky seconds after spawning by AA.
Its just an over reaction, you still need an accurate data on where the enemy is and assume that the enemy wont move for 20 seonds of that bomb incomming, best fix would be a better air alert from teams ground radar since some AA on team somehow doesnt know how to press the T 6
Just allow aircraft to look at the ground vehicle map without having all of the targeting abilities. These targeting mechanics could be implemented to some degree, but the game isn't ready for them right now. The maps all being fairly small doesn't help either.
Using peoples marks for bombing targets and bombing points while being capped has always been a problem man. This just makes it slightly easier. Getting rid of the feature won't fix cas players doing that
Seriously, you guys find it weird that Gaijin adds a mechanic that was only tested during one of the "DEV-Stream" that BVVD does shortly before it goes live-server. As if that hadn't happened before, like for example: drones (garbage that increases the weight of the game on my ssd), recon drones (legal wallhack), scouting (ultra legal wallhack), infinite ammo boxes for the most broken vehicles in the whole game. I MEAN, WT is the free to play that exists by the grace of the holy spirit. BUT HEY at least we have new premium toys for 80 USD, why would we have to complain?.......(SARCASM)
Completely agree, this feature is going to make planes able to bomb through clouds easily. I think gaijin should increase the load out options of individual weapons so they would be associated with the number of ordinance instead of the category so you could choose to bring 1 smart bomb and 1 AGM ex and the rest be dumb bombs and rockets with each weapon, so you could choose to bring a lighter load out for lower spawn cost. And then progressively increase the cost for more smart-weapons. That way you could still get to use them, but you would have to be selective instead of just being able to take out the whole enemy team in one pass. Another solution could be to add it but not show the game markers on the close-up map for aircraft, so you would still be able to set a bombing point using your INS but not have the target info conveyed on the big map. IMO they should also make the drone and squad marker less accurate to the level of the spotting mechanic.
@@TheEuropeanCanadian CAS should be stronger than tanks, that’s the point of plying good and farming SP. meanwhile anybody can take spaa to counter planes just for 70-80sp. I have a few options how we can balance planes in tank battles: 1. limiting planes to 2/team or making so you can spawn in plane 1 minute after another player spawns in. 2. Increasing spawn points for both spaa and planes 3 making so planes can’t go further than 30km from tank battles (adding patriot or s300 systems to cover areas beyond 30km) they won’t shoot immediately, but 20 sec timer will appear. This is very radical though
Maybe a option to participate in only ground vehicles battles without any plane, like we have with nigh battles, the game chooses when is that battle like with nigh battles, simple

The addition isn't very smart but i don't think increasing sp is the full answer either. Helicopters have been an issue since they got long range air to ground ordinance. There would have to be some sort of feature that would prevent helis from sitting miles away behind a mountain only to pop out, launch a missile, and hide again. Perhaps there can be an addition that makes you spotted if you aren't moving much in an area for too long. Long range air to ground ordinance from aircraft is something very new and would be even harder to balance considering the ranges you can successfully hit targets at. The answer might literally be to add stronger aa.
I understand people like using planes in Ground RB but the fact someone can scout 1 enemy, get the assist, die and return to hit space bar repeatedly and get 5+ tank kills just doesn't sit well with me. As someone who's primarily a tanker in WT, it sucks to be dominating with my tank knowledge only to have some dude die once and carpet bomb my team because they got outplayed in their tank. Maybe I'm in the wrong but I will stand by and die on this hill - CAS is cancerous
i get wanting realism but yeah this mechanic alone is going to make ranged kills far easier, gaijin do not realise that CAS will get stronger and even when you add stuff like patriot systems, these can still be defeated with the current munitions available in game. I knew this day was coming when they first introduced GBUs and then TGP with thermals etc. at least with DCS and doing similar stuff there is more in-between moments to set up the TGP and SPI when trying to target ground units. gaijin have made what should be a several step process be a 1 step process that thanks to the 3rd person element of WT makes seeing SPI markers (red box) so much easier to gauge where you are looking
CAS and AA are too strong at the moment. An easy fix would be lower spawn costs for Fighter aircraft with negative spawn cost (even less than just the fighter) for air belts. AA is annihilating tanks at the ground for 70SP while CAS with guided ordnance is annihilating ground as well before getting clapped by AA. Air to Air Fighters should be way cheaper, ground AA should be more expensive, since it’s too easy to clap tanks (with some exceptions) and airplanes with impossible to dodge missiles. At the same time CAS should pay extra for guided ordnance since this is the unbalanced problem. Sry if my thoughts are a little confusing it’s hard for me to explain my thoughts in English.

Honestly, the fact that you can better view the map is a more powerful feature than being able to click target on it. You could already kinda click target by clicking where an enemy was, and then looking at the marker that placed on your hud with the targeting pod. This isnt as big a deal as people are making it out to be. Its one of those things that seems powerful before its added, but then once people actually use it in battles, its far less effective than the guided munitions.
Gaijin promised new top tier SPAA for NATO countries in 2025. But it doesn't mean they should ruin GRB with CAS dominance even more for the last days of 2024....

This is literally a tactic used IRL on both planes and helicopters and with rockets and bombs. The whole point of AH64D is to do this and the reason why it isn't added in game properly.
I approve of this because it does give other nations a fighting chance to fight back against Pantsirs. I disapprove because we all know Russian CAS spammers are also going to abuse the hell out of this. Conclusion; remove Pantsirs and Kh-38s, add more variations of the Tor to top tier Russia.

I disagree. Maverick equivalents only have an effective range of 8km between energy potential and the lousy seeker computer finding the target you want. If the 2S6 isn’t competitive, why hasn’t the Tor been given to Russia? It has a bit more range than other nation’s SPAA without having the absurd range of the Pantsir? There’s hard limits on what can be added to non-Russian nations for SPAA because their air defense doctrine is air supremacy. Which doesn’t work with spawn costs for dedicated AA fighters in Ground RB. To me, the simplest solution is to just remove the Kh-38 and the Pantsir, give variations of the Tor to Russia, then as we get more vehicles in place for other nations that can actually match the performance of these two, we can introduce them back.
they should make this only free for recon vehicles, like armoured cars or some light tanks a MBT would not have the realistic capability to coordinate with CAS but something like an artillery spotter probably could with some simplifying his radios work

drones can be shot down and only used by light tanks. not many people use drones either. this mechanic is incredibly broken because you can yeet guided weapons while being behind a hill

if you get bombed from 20km away by a guy using only his map to choose a target area they kinda earned that kill plus su34 can already kill you outside out AA range with way less effort so this is not even remotely that strong
i think i ground only game mode could work but it is most likely not going to be added. what needs to be changed is how aircraft and maps are balanced because cas is blatantly op and super easy to get in game. especially when playing against russia.
this is one of the best mechanics being added. But I only play air RB so... Increasing spawn costs for CAS in ground RB makes sense to me, complaining that they're adding fun, cool weaponry to aircraft which were designed to strike ground targets, does not. We need a game mode where ground pounders can stretch their legs. It doesn't have to be against player controlled vehicles. I honestly think that, in conjunction with the aforementioned spawn cost adjustments would take a lot of the demand off of ground RB mode.
agree, imo the only fix they could add is to increase the SP cost of GPS/Laser-Guided Bombs, dumb bomb should be fine to stay because well, they're dumb and inaccurate (i know ccrp exist, but it won't be 100% precise like the GPS bomb)

Just because something works a certain way in real life does not mean it should be fully replicated like that in the game. Especially when it is not everything that has this standard. If we limit people to be stuck in their cockpit, no access to a map overlay and also many other factors designed for ease of use, then may be we can start with this realism argument, but it is not the case.
This feature should be limited to Air RB for bombing bases, enemy fortifications, or other strategic targets. When I first saw this feature, I immediately thought about JDAMs since this is really how they work in real life. They have a pre designated target point for release and that’s about all you have to do for the bombs. Being able to update target info while flying is insane. This gives so much more power than this feature should really have.

Air to air weapons should be little sp cost while air to ground ones should end up costing a lot (in GRB. In ARB is should be swapped).. might allow CAP to fight to clear the ground for CAS which is what would happen in real life anyways.. the other issue is that in Real life you have long range SAMs to deal with.. not just SHORAD which is why planes and helos can climb to get a good view of the field and launch all these weapons.
the marker will be really useful in air sim, trying to find the convoys and ground battles is sometimes a pain due to the vehicles sinking into the ground. but why tf is it available in ground battles? you can't acknowledge a problem and then make the problem worse. unless you're a drug addi- actually you know what? it all makes sense now.
So France is about to get very strong if this comes to the game. We get a new LT and that works perfectly with the alpha jet and the f100d. CCRP is about to be so OP. And honestly regardless if this makes my nation stronger, I dont want this AT ALL!!!

Only thing it changes is fact that people don't need to now EXACTLY where spawns are. You could mark the spawns with designator by looking on the place where you want to designate and pressing the key bind. Its shrimple as that, now its simplier
im hoping that if they introduce systems like the patriot or s400 hopefully they are accessable to everyone like drones in top tier or otherwise you will only have 2-3 people per team in a match using them.
A s400 and pattriot attery is massive, they will have to cut off a lot of the extra parts for them to even fit in a map. E.g the s400 battery has a 25m tall radar to search higher

Busted af, i called the cas problem out years ago when they f**ked up the missile handling! It's only gotten worse and this is the cherry on the top. This has allowed cas to fully translate into the point and click adventure.
Even without a locked marker on the map, we can still click on a marker to display it on the screen. The downside is that you need to face the target.

Increasing the rewards for spaa and air kills in ground needs to happen because right now getting like 5 air kills is worth less than one ground kill as far as mission score.
For air sim I have been longing for functions like this for ever! Instead of tapping through 20 targets looking for which is which, this makes identifying places much easier. But if this makes cas much more potent, there should be some limitations regarding ground battles. At least until good AA gets introduced on all nations.
True, as a Air SB player, grinding F-111 is pain because it dont have modern HUD, and it also don't work as a target marker as well (like on the Squadron Su-22) but only works as a bomb release timer, so you dont even know if you're heading to the correct target, and the timer will still count down lol

Returning Enduring Confrontation to air rb could easily take 80% of the CAS players away from ground rb
Instead of an AA ground vehhicle, I often take a 2nd aircraft that is specifically for CAP and I have great fun clearing the skies of enemy CAS aircraft.
The best AA is another plane.
At this point, the only way for gaijin to balance grb against cas is reducing sp of air crafts with only aa loadouts so that they are equal to ground aa systems if they just want jet in grb

Yeah, now do it against an actual players. Flying jet is 10 times harder then sitting behind a rock in a tank or picking pantsir after you just died twice without landing a single shot.

That thing can carry 18 of them, you fire them of straight of the start and within the last 5 seconds you pop up laser the enemy and they cant even react.

It's simple. No one is going to buy a 70 to 80 dollar jet if you can't spawn it in till the match is almost over and it gets slapped out of the sky seconds after spawning by AA.

Its just an over reaction, you still need an accurate data on where the enemy is and assume that the enemy wont move for 20 seonds of that bomb incomming, best fix would be a better air alert from teams ground radar since some AA on team somehow doesnt know how to press the T 6
Just allow aircraft to look at the ground vehicle map without having all of the targeting abilities. These targeting mechanics could be implemented to some degree, but the game isn't ready for them right now. The maps all being fairly small doesn't help either.
Using peoples marks for bombing targets and bombing points while being capped has always been a problem man. This just makes it slightly easier. Getting rid of the feature won't fix cas players doing that
Seriously, you guys find it weird that Gaijin adds a mechanic that was only tested during one of the "DEV-Stream" that BVVD does shortly before it goes live-server. As if that hadn't happened before, like for example: drones (garbage that increases the weight of the game on my ssd), recon drones (legal wallhack), scouting (ultra legal wallhack), infinite ammo boxes for the most broken vehicles in the whole game. I MEAN, WT is the free to play that exists by the grace of the holy spirit.

Completely agree, this feature is going to make planes able to bomb through clouds easily. I think gaijin should increase the load out options of individual weapons so they would be associated with the number of ordinance instead of the category so you could choose to bring 1 smart bomb and 1 AGM ex and the rest be dumb bombs and rockets with each weapon, so you could choose to bring a lighter load out for lower spawn cost. And then progressively increase the cost for more smart-weapons. That way you could still get to use them, but you would have to be selective instead of just being able to take out the whole enemy team in one pass.
Another solution could be to add it but not show the game markers on the close-up map for aircraft, so you would still be able to set a bombing point using your INS but not have the target info conveyed on the big map.
IMO they should also make the drone and squad marker less accurate to the level of the spotting mechanic.

I have a few options how we can balance planes in tank battles:
1. limiting planes to 2/team or making so you can spawn in plane 1 minute after another player spawns in.
2. Increasing spawn points for both spaa and planes
3 making so planes can’t go further than 30km from tank battles (adding patriot or s300 systems to cover areas beyond 30km) they won’t shoot immediately, but 20 sec timer will appear. This is very radical though

All markers should be reset if you spawn in a plane, your flight time should be limited (same as it is in AB) you cannot land and rearm
Maybe a option to participate in only ground vehicles battles without any plane, like we have with nigh battles, the game chooses when is that battle like with nigh battles, simple
If we are addressing this problem, we must also address the S1 that can snipe air spawns. I don't even find it worth it to bring an aircraft in a while playing any nation other than Russia
The addition isn't very smart but i don't think increasing sp is the full answer either. Helicopters have been an issue since they got long range air to ground ordinance. There would have to be some sort of feature that would prevent helis from sitting miles away behind a mountain only to pop out, launch a missile, and hide again. Perhaps there can be an addition that makes you spotted if you aren't moving much in an area for too long. Long range air to ground ordinance from aircraft is something very new and would be even harder to balance considering the ranges you can successfully hit targets at. The answer might literally be to add stronger aa.
So scouting will become even more powerful now, as well.
This will be a huge QOL improvement in air sim. Trying to find the stupid bases in jungle maps is abysmal.
The map view I actually find it quite a good addition, however, what the hell were they thinking by adding the marker?
I understand people like using planes in Ground RB but the fact someone can scout 1 enemy, get the assist, die and return to hit space bar repeatedly and get 5+ tank kills just doesn't sit well with me. As someone who's primarily a tanker in WT, it sucks to be dominating with my tank knowledge only to have some dude die once and carpet bomb my team because they got outplayed in their tank. Maybe I'm in the wrong but I will stand by and die on this hill - CAS is cancerous
i get wanting realism but yeah this mechanic alone is going to make ranged kills far easier, gaijin do not realise that CAS will get stronger and even when you add stuff like patriot systems, these can still be defeated with the current munitions available in game.
I knew this day was coming when they first introduced GBUs and then TGP with thermals etc. at least with DCS and doing similar stuff there is more in-between moments to set up the TGP and SPI when trying to target ground units. gaijin have made what should be a several step process be a 1 step process that thanks to the 3rd person element of WT makes seeing SPI markers (red box) so much easier to gauge where you are looking
CAS and AA are too strong at the moment. An easy fix would be lower spawn costs for Fighter aircraft with negative spawn cost (even less than just the fighter) for air belts.
AA is annihilating tanks at the ground for 70SP while CAS with guided ordnance is annihilating ground as well before getting clapped by AA.
Air to Air Fighters should be way cheaper, ground AA should be more expensive, since it’s too easy to clap tanks (with some exceptions) and airplanes with impossible to dodge missiles. At the same time CAS should pay extra for guided ordnance since this is the unbalanced problem.

Honestly, the fact that you can better view the map is a more powerful feature than being able to click target on it. You could already kinda click target by clicking where an enemy was, and then looking at the marker that placed on your hud with the targeting pod. This isnt as big a deal as people are making it out to be. Its one of those things that seems powerful before its added, but then once people actually use it in battles, its far less effective than the guided munitions.
I think it’s about time this feature got added honestly.

isn't that the tactic that Heli pilot use in Ukraine-Russian war? select a coordinate of a known defensive position, fly low and fast, and then climb & shoot all of their missiles, pop CM's and fly back to base
This is literally a tactic used IRL on both planes and helicopters and with rockets and bombs. The whole point of AH64D is to do this and the reason why it isn't added in game properly.

If the 2S6 isn’t competitive, why hasn’t the Tor been given to Russia? It has a bit more range than other nation’s SPAA without having the absurd range of the Pantsir?
There’s hard limits on what can be added to non-Russian nations for SPAA because their air defense doctrine is air supremacy. Which doesn’t work with spawn costs for dedicated AA fighters in Ground RB.
To me, the simplest solution is to just remove the Kh-38 and the Pantsir, give variations of the Tor to Russia, then as we get more vehicles in place for other nations that can actually match the performance of these two, we can introduce them back.
Increase the rewards for downing aircraft, and we need way more advanced spaa in the game. Maybe even raise the spawn cost aswell on top of that.

a MBT would not have the realistic capability to coordinate with CAS but something like an artillery spotter probably could with some simplifying his radios work

What this really boils down to is that this new mechanic will not “break the game”. CAS is already overpowered, this is like a 1% at most increase in power. if you get bombed from 20km away by a guy using only his map to choose a target area they kinda earned that kill plus su34 can already kill you outside out AA range with way less effort so this is not even remotely that strong

i think i ground only game mode could work but it is most likely not going to be added. what needs to be changed is how aircraft and maps are balanced because cas is blatantly op and super easy to get in game. especially when playing against russia.

this is one of the best mechanics being added. But I only play air RB so... Increasing spawn costs for CAS in ground RB makes sense to me, complaining that they're adding fun, cool weaponry to aircraft which were designed to strike ground targets, does not. We need a game mode where ground pounders can stretch their legs. It doesn't have to be against player controlled vehicles. I honestly think that, in conjunction with the aforementioned spawn cost adjustments would take a lot of the demand off of ground RB mode.
agree, imo the only fix they could add is to increase the SP cost of GPS/Laser-Guided Bombs, dumb bomb should be fine to stay because well, they're dumb and inaccurate (i know ccrp exist, but it won't be 100% precise like the GPS bomb)

Just because something works a certain way in real life does not mean it should be fully replicated like that in the game. Especially when it is not everything that has this standard. If we limit people to be stuck in their cockpit, no access to a map overlay and also many other factors designed for ease of use, then may be we can start with this realism argument, but it is not the case.
This feature should be limited to Air RB for bombing bases, enemy fortifications, or other strategic targets. When I first saw this feature, I immediately thought about JDAMs since this is really how they work in real life. They have a pre designated target point for release and that’s about all you have to do for the bombs. Being able to update target info while flying is insane. This gives so much more power than this feature should really have.

GPS is wallhacks IRL too so its never going to be balanced. Would you rather they never add this feature? If so, when will it ever improve? Are we just going to be stuck in the current state of the game for the rest of history?
My argument is that: This update (and maybe a couple after) will create a problem. Because of the problem gaijin will give a solution (better spaa for all nations). And thus we will move the line forward in realism while also adding new possibilities.
Air to air weapons should be little sp cost while air to ground ones should end up costing a lot (in GRB. In ARB is should be swapped).. might allow CAP to fight to clear the ground for CAS which is what would happen in real life anyways.. the other issue is that in Real life you have long range SAMs to deal with.. not just SHORAD which is why planes and helos can climb to get a good view of the field and launch all these weapons.
Simple. Add a ground only mode to the selection. Problem solved.
the marker will be really useful in air sim, trying to find the convoys and ground battles is sometimes a pain due to the vehicles sinking into the ground. but why tf is it available in ground battles? you can't acknowledge a problem and then make the problem worse. unless you're a drug addi- actually you know what? it all makes sense now.
So France is about to get very strong if this comes to the game. We get a new LT and that works perfectly with the alpha jet and the f100d. CCRP is about to be so OP. And honestly regardless if this makes my nation stronger, I dont want this AT ALL!!!
