    To know that she cried for hours in the bathroom after this, completely shattered, breaks my heart. One thing is for certain. They didn’t deserve her!!! She’s amazing! I consume violin music daily and she is the most inspirational person to me. I’ve told everyone about her since she began. I’ve always loved Lindsey. I’m incredibly proud of her and so glad she didn’t get accepted by them. She’s so much better off without them. This wasn’t her path and it is so much better that it wasn’t. She’s amazing

      The criticism were completely accurate. The song sounded scratchy and terrible to the ear. The harsh criticism is probably what made her get better-and that’s what actually enabled her success. Pretending that something is good when it obviously isn’t doesn’t actually help people. British guy’s commentary sounded harsh, but was great feedback and spot on.

They take the time to explain why it didn’t really work out tonight and Howie even congratulated her on making it here. Piers seems to take pleasure in telling people they suck or aren’t good enough if they don’t meet his self centered viewpoints. His word choices seem to imply that he doesn’t think she’ll ever get better or be able to do this kind of style. At least Sharon and Howie don’t try to disparage her. Piers Morgan. She didn't need to be a world class violinist.
    She didn't need a group.
    Don't take criticism of one moment for your career. Take it for that one moment, they didn't like her playing and she knew why.

    Honestly, they're right. This was just not cutting it. Then she went on to work hard and improved her playing and also created her style, with the dance and acrobatics etc. She became a star..a viral sensation, a success story. But at this point, this just wasn't it.
    What she does now? Totally incredible.
    She needed this honest opinion and this defeat to go on to win bigger battles later.

    Rewatched this after watching her new single & i gotta say she really took this critisism like a champ. It was really harsh "feedback" specially from the 1st judge. The 2nd judge was pretty hypocritical since they said they wanted something new but went on to say that she needed a singer/ a group (basically a band(?) :/ im really happy that she decided to keep on with her career on her own ❤ rarely any of the winners in AGT get going/ recognition in their career after the show. She honestly didnt need them. Been a fan since Crystalize 💙

  • @malloryjenkins8347

    Honestly, as a sound tech myself, a lot of the pitchiness comes from the mix. They accused her of missing notes, but I truly can’t hear what notes are missing. Plus the fact that the judges wouldnt know either. Maybe they meant that some notes were flat or sharp? Which could be the case, except if you literally just slow the video down you can hear that they’re all on key. Lindsey’s solo music has figured out an amazing balance of volumes and tones. I think these three judges shown here all those years ago didn’t know it, but we’re actually talking to the sound techs. I think the violin was too loud (easy to do, violins are notoriously difficult to mix, especially if you’ve got hundreds of other acts to quickly mix as well), and i think an electric violin could’ve done the set more justice, since the gains and EQs can be more easily adjusted without losing the integrity of the instrument. For example if I played my acoustic guitar pretty loudly while playing an upbeat 90s song in the background, it would stand out like a sore thumb. It doesn’t fit in because it’s not mixed well. I obviously don’t know everything that happened that day, but that’s just what I observed to be some of the problems. No one asked for that, I just wonder if anyone had similar thoughts?

    • @malloryjenkins8347
      @malloryjenkins8347 11 місяців тому +1

      Also would like to add that non-sound techs aren’t trained to hear the problem, they just hear that something’s off. In this case it was the violin that sounded off, but not for the reason they thought. Thus concludes my ted talk.

  • @opsatr
    @opsatr 2 роки тому +7

    Hmm... I don't know about missing notes. I listened to it again and I don't think there necessarily were missing notes.
    The problem, I think, was that the violin kind of gets drowned out especially towards the end when the female voice starts singing.
    It's like my mind got distracted by that voice when it came on, and I lost the violin which should have been the star of the performance from beginning to the very end.

    She took the criticism, and used it to improve.
    I feel like she was stitched up by the show because they wanted someone else to win. It's like the difference between sound for the opening act and sound for the headliners.
    Sound engineers can make you either feel it in your feet, or in your stomach. This was done on purpose.
    But whatever, they were so wrong, especially Sharon.
    Lindsay isn't filling venues in Vegas, she's filling Arenas in London, New York and France.

    Este video lo vi hace años y me indigno ver y saber como en estos programas los humillan, para hacer más atractivo el espectáculo, no son algo agradable estos realitys, más que para darnos cuenta que hay gente maravillosa en todo el mundo con grandes talentos.
    Hoy 6 de sep 2023 regresé a buscar el video para mostrarselo a mi nieta de 5 años, que cuando deseas algo solo tienes que luchar por ello en contra de gente como los jueces o personas como ellos, que querer es poder y que es una de muchas lecciones de vida, que te enseña a alcanzar tus sueños en contra de las adversidades y conseguirlos.
    Amamos a Lindsey y la bebé la escucha desde que nació, hoy esta lista en su aprendizaje, para saber y conocer, cuanto lucharon grandes artistas de la ciencia, la literatura y el arte en general, para alcanzar la gloria en contra de gente como esta a la que llamaría "A5esino5 de sueños"
    Bravo, bravo, bravo, hoy esas lágrimas son consideradas un precio, justo por la gloria de la que hoy disfrutas y la lección que le enseño hoy a mi nieta es que siempre debes levantarte con la cara en alto y jamás permitir que nadie destruya tus sueños, porque todos podemos ser lo que queramos.
