Fantastic scenery. Took me back to when i was up at the lakes and visited a place in County Durham and i set the satnav to get me back to the Lakes and it took me over some of the highest peaks and with good weather the views were out of this world.
Thanks for that great footage ., you had the touring gear the bike and the weather nice when it all comes together. Remember when I lived up there in the mid 70s riding a Norton Commando 750. When you dropped gear on that she used to bark out lol 😂. I loved the sights and smells as you mentioned 👍
I'm gonna have to do something like this when the weather improves, might be a fun trip to do on my 125 as a last hurrah before moving up on to a big boys bike. It looks like an amazing place to go explore.
Well at the moment I've been eyeing up the BMW G 650 GS from afar. I've heard plenty of good things and as I have to commute a fairway around the countryside it's something that will be just as fun taking me down little lanes as it would be taking me to work.
What a lovely day you had for it :-0 that's a great road up to Hawes. 'Sheep ont road' love it ;-) It's great to watch your clips of your biker Britain journeys. You can feel like you've come out for a ride with a mate whilst your sat on the sofa. Armchair ride out. Great!
Yes it was a stunning day - in fact I don't think we've had one like it since!! Glad you've enjoyed my ride-outs, thanks for watching and stopping by...TMF
Hi TMF, just seen this and glad you liked your ride in my back yard!! It was the river Wharfe you mentioned not the Ribble, though that river runs through some stunning scenery too as you saw when you got to Ribblehead. The last time I was there the Flying Scotsman just happened to be crossing it at the same time! The reason I was going through your back catalog I was wondering if you'd done a Vlog on fitting a horn to your GS, mine is pathetic and so thinking of an upgrade but worried about the Canbus system. Anyway if ever you're up this way again I'd be happy to show you some more spectacular roads!!
Thank you Nick (and for the correction) - I haven't fitted a better horn to the GS but I have been considering it....will be interested to hear what you fit??
Great to see you reviewing the roads in our own back yard. HAWES has hundreds of bikers descending on a weekend. Keep up the good work on the videos TMF
lol @ sheep on't road! Again, stunning work TMF,thanks ever so much for sharing it,not been up north Yorkshire for a while now and its given me some idea's for ride out's so nice one brother!!...ride safe,..bizz
Great videos thanks. I'm from New Zealand and love seeing around your country via your videos. I have driven in England, mainly in the south so I have had a taste. You must come down under to NZ during your British winter. We have some of the best riding roads in the world (according to me) and I can even organise some flying for you!!
Mike Scherer Hi Mike - thanks for the kind words, the South of the UK isn't a patch on the North for riding - it's lovely up there (alas the weather isn't!). I'd love to visit NZ one day and flying (and riding) down there would I'm sure be amazing....will look you up when I get it sorted ;0)
hey up buddy, greetings from the harley rider in this video, it was a pleasure meeting you and I am also a fan of your videos!! BTW, I didn't realise I was on camera or I would have toned my language down!! ride safe 🤘😎🤘
I'm a Yorkshire man and have just passed my test. I'll look forward to trying out these roads, however a gsxr600 is not exactly a touring bike. Great couple of videos.
atobpilot Thanks atobpilot - the gsxr600 will be great on these roads - you only need the touring bike if you have to ride 200 miles to get to them in the first place (like I had too!). Congrats on passing the test, welcome to biking!
Thanks for the video in fact all your videos. I spent the 1st 35 years of my life living in the Yorkshire Dales/ Lake District area before emigrating to Aus. Next time you are in Hawes try and visit the cheese factory, the best cheese in the world (IMO). One of the things I really miss about the UK. By the way, have you thought of doing a test ride/review of the KTM 1290 Super Adventurer? I'd value your opinion, as I'm sure others would.
Cheers Bernie - glad you like the videos and fabulous to have viewers on the other side of the planet. I'd love to move to Aus - so besides the cheese, what else would I miss?? ...and yes I'd love to ride/review the KTM, just haven't had the opportunity too (yet)!
+TheMissendenFlyer New Potatoes, Pork Pies, Black Pudding & Real Ale. All the things I shouldn't have. When I start missing the rain I seek professional help!! Seriously Aus is a great country lots to see and do absolutely made for a GS. Our winter is the time to visit Queensland, clear blue skies, temps. in the mid 20's and no rain. Keep up the good work luv the touring videos
...wow I had no idea new potato's were Blighty specific, I think I could live without them in return for some reliable sunny weather.....pork pies though, that's a whole other question!!!
DervMan I tell you what that bike was a lovely bit of kit - shame I didn't get any pics or video of it. The machine was obviously loved and looked and sounded fabulous.......so never say never, eh?
Hi MF, Once again another great bit of filming; I really enjoyed both parts. Many thanks for sharing your adventures with us. PS: I've had my new Speed Triple R a couple of weeks now; fantastic bike! Keep up the good work 😃
...well I have pinlock's on all my helmets and I remove any chin guard type pieces from my helmets to allow breath to escape out the bottom of the helmet....other than that you're into cracking the visor open if you have too....
You talking about the engine modes reminds me of your long term GS review. Have BMW ever contacted you about that video as it's had a rather large number of views? I'd hope BMW would offer you a free quick shifter for all that publicity!
I was next to a LC GS the other day, we pulled away from the traffic lights at the same time but he had a quick shifter fitted. Sounded absolutely amazing, I 'need' a LC even more now ;-)
Dear Mr Flyer, I very much enjoy all your videos though I often forget to press the like button. I only have one minor complaint. The audio on the intro/outro seems to be in stereo whist during the video is only mono. Also the level appears to go up by about 3dB. This doubling in volume on the outro results in my ears bleeding. Please advise. peace out man
Paul Sephton .....my advice would be to turn down the volume prior to the outro ;0) Seriously sorry about that, I have limited kit/skill and am learning as I go.....will try harder (new mic on the way as my existing one went pop today, coincidentally the old mic was stereo, though I suspect my editing software isn't).....
I'm really annoyed with myself. I have travelled all over the world for my job and currently reside in the USA, originally from England. I'm ashamed to say that I hardly know the UK countryside at all, it would seem I have missed out on a great deal!
Mark Williams Hi Mark, yes I'm the same - too keen to explore elsewhere in the world where as (weather permitting) we have it all on our doorstep.....where in the US are you???
TheMissendenFlyer I'm currently in Knoxville, Tennessee, so I have some fantastic riding down here, The Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway to name two in particular. Have been riding Harleys for years and still have a couple in the garage but just bought a Ducati Multistrada, absolutely fantastic bike. I doubt I'll be riding the Harley's again!
Mark Williams Wow, the MTS is a great bike but I thought once a Harley man always a Harley man!! Be careful not to upset the locals on that Italian beast!
Leave it to people on Bicycles to break the rules. .. Love the scenery but I don't think I could live there. I would feel trapped with nothing around me except for hills and sheep.
This is how you do a bike video, no music, good commentary, & great information about the area 👍
Thank you - I'm glad you approve!
Fantastic scenery. Took me back to when i was up at the lakes and visited a place in County Durham and i set the satnav to get me back to the Lakes and it took me over some of the highest peaks and with good weather the views were out of this world.
Stunning scenery and nice riding weather, it really doesn't get much better.
Agreed....
Well that's the Dales and the Moors on the list for next year. Nice work!
+sofnolime Yeah great spots for a visit by bike, I shall certainly be back...see you there!
Two more fantastic videos with great commentary. Really enjoyed and inspired to get out on the bike.
+Rob Gutteridge Thanks Rob - really pleased you enjoyed the trip!
Yes the planets aligned that day - thoroughly enjoyable trip....
beautiful roads around the dales, count myself very lucky to live an hour or so away. Great video
James cox Thanks James - you are indeed a lucky fella!
Reminded me of a delightful Bergerac TV show driving pace but always good to finish coming into Hawes!
Watched both parts, what amazing landscapes and scenery. You got lucky with that weather indeed. Nice one flyer
Faceless Rebel Cheers Faceless - and well done on your perseverance!
And the best road was a right turn as you arrive in Hawes. Glad you enjoyed it.
Excellent as always and much appreciated.
+Bronda Hawkins Thank you Bronda!
I'm gonna have to do something like this when the weather improves, might be a fun trip to do on my 125 as a last hurrah before moving up on to a big boys bike. It looks like an amazing place to go explore.
+Thomas Miller Yes do it! It's an amazing place to ride if you get the weather right.....what bike are you going to get?
Well at the moment I've been eyeing up the BMW G 650 GS from afar. I've heard plenty of good things and as I have to commute a fairway around the countryside it's something that will be just as fun taking me down little lanes as it would be taking me to work.
+Thomas Miller Nice machine...and the perfect step up from the 125 I reckon....enjoy!
What a lovely day you had for it :-0 that's a great road up to Hawes. 'Sheep ont road' love it ;-)

I'm falling in love with England Sir, thanks again!....Sal : )
When the weather is right it can't be beaten!
Great to see you reviewing the roads in our own back yard. HAWES has hundreds of bikers descending on a weekend. Keep up the good work on the videos TMF
+TEDEXPRESS Thanks Ted - appreciate your kind words of encouragement!
lol @ sheep on't road!

TheMissendenFlyer hehe...you tease!...il be tuned!!
Those are some stunning views, as you said.
Cheers as ever....
TheMissendenFlyer How many tours are in the book?
According to the cover - 44
TheMissendenFlyer Nice, that's going to be a lot of videos :)
Great area to ride is the Yorkshire dales and up across to the Cumbrian Fells, only trouble is the boring ride up the A1 from Essex-Suffolk boarder,
+vince halls Yes it is lovely up there...of course I wouldn't start from the Essex/Suffolk border...... :0) Cheers - TMF
Great pair of videos. I pretty much did your ride last weekend, it's lovely when you catch the weather.
MotoMax ...yeah, makes all the difference doesn't it....cheers for watching - ride safe - TMF

Hey Peter great to have you along!! What kept you....was great meeting you...oh to have those days back again eh mate??
I'm a Yorkshire man and have just passed my test. I'll look forward to trying out these roads, however a gsxr600 is not exactly a touring bike. Great couple of videos.

Another nice one. Thank you.
Thanks again (glad to see you've been going for a bit of a marathon viewing session tonight ;0)
Another quality vid MF good to see you travelling up North and enjoying some of our best roads and scenery, brilliant.

Great pair of videos 👍🏻 Does this mean you'll be test riding a Harley Davidson next?!
DervMan I tell you what that bike was a lovely bit of kit - shame I didn't get any pics or video of it. The machine was obviously loved and looked and sounded fabulous.......so never say never, eh?
Hi MF,
Once again another great bit of filming; I really enjoyed both parts. Many thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
PS: I've had my new Speed Triple R a couple of weeks now; fantastic bike!
Keep up the good work 😃
SBKPete Hi SBKPete - Nice to hear from you again and thanks for the kind words - glad you're enjoying the Trumpet, can't beat a Triple eh??
I also noticed, like myself, you ride with glasses. Any tips on how you prevent them fogging up in cold weather?
...well I have pinlock's on all my helmets and I remove any chin guard type pieces from my helmets to allow breath to escape out the bottom of the helmet....other than that you're into cracking the visor open if you have too....
You talking about the engine modes reminds me of your long term GS review. Have BMW ever contacted you about that video as it's had a rather large number of views? I'd hope BMW would offer you a free quick shifter for all that publicity!
DervMan .....if they did I'd be slightly gutted as I paid them £423 only today to have one fitted....stay tuned for a review soon! ;0)
I was next to a LC GS the other day, we pulled away from the traffic lights at the same time but he had a quick shifter fitted. Sounded absolutely amazing, I 'need' a LC even more now ;-)
DervMan ...funnily enough the auto-blipper on the down shift sounds even better than the upshift.....
TheMissendenFlyer PLEASE don't upload the quick shifter video ;-) I fear for my bank account if you do!
DervMan .....it's on it's way - stay tuned! ;0)
The north of England is the worlds best kept secret. :-) Oh, and Scotland, Devon, Cornwall......
Agreed....
5:55 great road :)
Bavarian Biker Yeah, there a are loads of 'em in Yorkshire it turns out!
something I do every weekend is roll into haws
puds boi You're a lucky chap!
Dear Mr Flyer,
I very much enjoy all your videos though I often forget to press the like button.
Haha, it catches me by surprise. It isn't all of them anyway. You're doing a good job. thank you for replying. :-)
Paul Sephton Cheers Paul....
I'm really annoyed with myself. I have travelled all over the world for my job and currently reside in the USA, originally from England. I'm ashamed to say that I hardly know the UK countryside at all, it would seem I have missed out on a great deal!

TheMissendenFlyer That's what I thought but it's nice to go around corners some times! lol
am i deaf ??
Leave it to people on Bicycles to break the rules. .. Love the scenery but I don't think I could live there. I would feel trapped with nothing around me except for hills and sheep.
