Another abandoned exploration, featuring a few of my favourite things - Old mills, tiny houses and a forest!
In this video I go exploring the valley of Jumble Hole and visit the ruins that remain there. There was a working mill in here for about 100 years, I have no idea how they built it or maintained it as the landscape is pretty unforgiving. It is currently being knocked down but there was a little bit left to see.
I also go visit a tiny abandoned house which I have been coming to for years. It has a hobbit like quality to it, and is in probably one of the most tranquil locations on earth. Every time I visit I think how amazing it would be to live there.
A big thank to Jack Walsh at norternexposure.uk for the great work
Also, thanks to Adrian Waterhouse for the ace pictures of the mill before the demolition began.

You mentioned in another video you wanted to be an actor and it couldn't be. But I think it's because the universe had a bigger plan for you: to show us people around the world the wonders of abandoned places, and incredible tours and stories. And I hope your channel grows and grows.

When we lived in Dumfries, there was a place almost identical up the valley behind our house. It really was magical, right on edge of Forest of Ay. Like you, I spent many happy hours dreaming about, sorting it out & living there.
Just found your channel today, where you were looking at places in London & then the £12,000 house!
Its a national scandel - ALL successive governments since the 2nd World War have allowed huge swathes of perfectly descent homes/houses to stagnate & end up in the state you were showing. Claiming money pits are worth £20/30+ thousand, when they uninhabitable without full restoration, starting with new roofs?!
They ripped the hearts out of all those community's and blamed it on unfortunate individuals who never stood a chance, while greedy corrupt councillors/local MPsetc take bungs ,whilst doing NOTHING on a practical level.
I'm 59 ,I've had a blessed life growing up all around the world, seeing Germany,Japan and even Italy, I have to seriously wonder who really won that despicable 2nd world war!
I grew up in Chelsea,London & have always had a base in this area my whole life; its SO easy to loose perspective on the state of the rest of the country.pariculary when you don't drive.
Many of thise derelict homes you show shoukd be conficated from councils/suppoed land lords & sold of for £5,with intrest free grants to help first time/new owners to revamp them,on condition they AND THEY ALONE ,live in them for minimum of 10 years; to incentives the establishment of new neighbourhoods - SAFE,,place for owners to live?
They have similar schemes in other places in Europe, which prove it works.
Your programs are areal eye openers, keep up the fight/good work.
With very best wishes to you & yours - including that sweet dog - and thank you for the time /energy that you put into the production of your posts.
    Very best wishes to you&yours💥👊👏👏👏❤️💯🏚🛠🪛🪚🪜🧰🔜🏠👋⭐️💯✌️

I was in the 'light' valley forest at Hebden Bridge.
I walked to the other side way above Hebden when I came across a ruined old farmhouse.
Like you I took a wee look inside, found some cellar stone steps and began to go down when I heard a sound that stopped me dead !
Large wild cat !!!! No mistaking that sound !!!!
I backed off slowly up the steps and made it back to Hebden park alot lot quicker than I went up ...

It's the ruins of Beverly End Farm. On the next level up at the back of that building are holes in the stone built walls called 'beehives.

@@wanderingturnip no worries DB. I filmed there in Summer...although you'll have probably seen it as a frequent visitor, I was lucky to catch it covered in bluebells 😊. As for use, yes it was built for workers for one of the mills at Jumble Hole Clough I think. 🙂

So someone else just before sent me a picture of it in bluebell season. It looks amazing! I’ll have to watch your vid now. Cheers 👍

I live not far from there but I’ve never walked up there. Will have to have a wander it’s beautiful and I love finding old ruins too.

Yup keep doing more stuff, love abandoned stuff. There's loads of it in Wales as well, I've often wondered if you could buy one as a project and make it into a an affordable home. I'd much rather spend time making a home I love than spend my time earning money to buy one.

That was a wonderful little house, but I have to admit that I was very impressed with the trees as well. Great looking trees. Would be interesting to see pictures from that place in the summertime...

That’s beautiful. I’m jealous. I’m in a flat boring place with no seasons to speak of. Only hot and not quite so hot. One day I will leave. Thanks for a glimpse of something nicer.

I wanted to buy the first derelict cottage about 10 years ago, get out its mine 🤨😂 and once saw an old hippy sunbathing nude at the derelict mill further up the valley 🤦‍♂️😄

Hi another great video as always good content I agree to take a walk in the wood when its snow covered is a true winter wonderland experience, like you said in the video about when you was a kid exploring the wood, I was much the same being brought up on a farm that was well of the beaten track, as kids we would be gone for hours exploring, building a camp in the woods from old fallen trees and items we had found it was an amazing child hood memory for me like you we would take our family dog with us by the way Ted is an adorable little chap and as much as he only has little legs it was clear he was enjoying his walk/explore very much. .

      @wanderingturnip  Рік тому

Yeah spot on. There’s nothing quite like those first young days of exploring! If i ever have kids I hope to bring them up surrounded by woods like this
