    On Hurricane Otis, if you’d like, I actually have someone who you could Interview if needed. I talk with them frequently on Twitter(X), and I met them during the night of Otis. They were on vacation and didn’t see what had occurred until last second, and came to me and my group’s twitter space for help. They were in a hotel right alongside the coast, describing everything happening to me until their internet was cut out. Such a terrible night, I’ve never seen anything like it.
    Other than that, excited for 2024!!!! 🌪️

    Alferia, recent subscriber here. Found you through watching some of the Tornado chaser videos, including Reed Timmer. Your documentaries are some of the best I personally have seen and you reawakened a long thought dead flame in me, the flame of being fascinated with Tornadoes since watching the movie Twister as a little boy years ago.
    Really looking forward to your future Tornado documentaries, and I'll give your non-tornado videos a chance when I have the time. Don't ever let that flame of passion for these deadly yet beautiful storms die out.
    Happy New Year and here's to a good 2024 for us all.

    I'm glad you're doing a video on the 1974 super outbreak. I honestly thought it would be on April 3rd since it would be a half-century since and has such historical significance. I'm still looking forward to seeing it though.

    Do you know of any weather events that greatly affected a major Sporting event directly? Such as a Super Bowl, Olympics, World Cup, etc.?
    Bringing it up because we got the Paris Olympics coming up this summer.

      @@AlferiaIf your into soccer, they is a couple of recent CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying Games that could make interesting videos involving winter weather that could make interesting videos. Both of these games did take place during some pretty crazy winter storms.
      CONCACAF BTW is the Confederation of North & Central America and Caribbean Football Federation.
      In March of 2013, a game now known as snow Classico took place in Denver during a 2014 World Cup Qualifier between the USA and Costa Rica. It was snowing all day in the Denver area and then the blizzard conditions really set in during the 2nd half of the game.
      They was a couple of games during the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers to really mention. A U.S. VS. Honduras game up in Minnesota. Where kickoff temperature was at 3 degrees Fahrenheit with wind chills at -15. It was the coldest game for the U.S. Men’s National Team in over 20 years. A couple of players for Honduras even suffered hypothermia during the game.
      Also, a few month’s earlier in November 2021, they was another Qualifier between Canada and Mexico Game that is now known as IceTeca. A major Arctic blast came into Edmonton, Alberta a couple of days before the game which make the playing surface really slippery at Edmonton Commonwealth Stadium. Kickoff temperature was -9 Celsius and it was nearing -15 Celsius by the end of the game. It proved to be an important for Canada’s WCQ Campaign to helped the Canadians qualify for their first World Cup in nearly 40 years.

      @@Alferia I was about to make a request for doing the 1974 super outbreak but then I just discovered this video and noticed you had it in the schedule. It is definitely fitting that 1974 should be mentioned as along with 2011 it is one of the two greatest tornado outbreaks in US history.

    Ohhh Hilary. And Joplin. Well i wasnt personally effected by Joplin but am interested. Hilary however i was effected by. Not super bad or anything. I didnt lose my house or anything ans the town i live in is basically on top of a mountain so flooding wasnt a huge issue either but was still an experience. At most the schools here got a snow day they had to make up 😅

    Hurricane Ida was a beast. That thing almost stalled and sat over us for about 10-12 hours. We were in the western eye wall for the entire duration of the storm. The sound of the wind is something I will never forget.

    Im excited, I love learning about hurricanes! Understanding how they work and what happens under them is a huge interest.
    If ur ever doing any on blizzards, there’s like a kinda small blizzard from March 12th, 1993 in the East Tennessee region. A good 13-18 inches of snow in places, and that wasn’t a common occurrence for a place like TN! Especially right after sunny 70s on March 10th!

    Im very exited for this year, with the 2024 solar eclipse coming in full swing and a nice list of hurricanes that are in development, I am 100% loving the year already.
    I will have a suggestion though that could be a bit tiny, but maybe in the Ian video, you could talk a out the serious amount of erosion Ian has caused to Florida maybe. Just a suggestion. Don’t need to add it, jist maybe something that will separate Ian from other storm videos. Anyways, loving the channel and cant wait for this year ❤❤

  • @anniealexander9911

    Being British I naturally love your channel. I am the stereotype. My favs are the snow storms. I hope the Super Typhoon Yolanda does well as there is so much scope for covering crazy weather and natural disasters from round the world. Will you stretch to things like the Canadian and Australian wildfires?
    Btw, not sure if you are aware of this, but the storm chasers are grouping together to reclaim their footage. Kyle Hill has an interview on his channel recently (in reference to scam science channels) with the guy leading the group. They have been targeting those channels that are AI generated but you may get scooped up if you use footage that might be from a storm chaser.

    • @Alferia
      @Alferia  7 місяців тому

      I only use footage from storm chasers when I'm given explicit permission to do so. With the videos with footage from Reed Timmer, he gave me written permission.
      From what I've gathered, especially since I'm doing everything to remain in public domain/creative commons, I'm not one of their targets.

    Also I'm excited for the 1974 super outbreak video. my mother was actually in that tornado when she was 12. and literally went over or very close to her house and then it hitted her neighbor which was passed out drunk on the couch, and somehow the neighbor survived although his house being completely gone he literally just woke up from being rained on and the only thing surviving was his couch.

    @Amyisntthere 7 місяців тому

    I see your guidelines say keep storm requests to a minimum so I will only ask this one storm as is effected me and killed a person that I wasn’t to close with but a lot of people I knew were
    The May 15th 2018 Severe Weather outbreak in Connecticut
    Simultaneously 2 EF1 Tornadoes happened along with a Macroburst and a Microburst luckily my half of town was spared but going
    Into New Fairfield where a lot of my family lives the town was destroyed and it’s where one of the 2 deaths in the storm happened it’s also one of the few Storm Outbreaks that resulted in New England getting a moderate risk
    Of course I understand if this Storm is to small to cover
    And I hope everyone who reads this has a amazing day!
