G'day Barry. Terry is my Dad. Loved the episode mate, I am grateful he had good mates around him. He will never be forgotten thanks for the tribute. Would love a yarn one day, cheers 🥂 Joel Edwards
Barry, thank you for sharing the camaraderie of sailors, your sweet demeanor, your slightly evil sense of humor, the joy of friendship and loss. RIp Terry Edwards. Condolences to those he loved. 🙏
A very sad ending to a video dedicated to wonderful friendships. The more you make, the more likely this will happen. But don't ever stop. Good memories are blessings.
Fantastic episode as always Barry. So sad about your friend Terry, but tastefully mentioned. Glad you have got to South Africa now. Looking forward to your preparations for the South Atlantic crossing. Love Malcolm & Eileen. xx
Hi Barry. Sorry for your loss mate. Terry I’m sure will be missed by many. Shame you had to go back to Darwin, but now finally on your way. Hope you weren’t billed for the sail adjustment. Getting close to the festive season Barry, so I would just like to wish you a happy and safe Christmas. Stay safe

I'm just a humble coastal sailor around Normandy and Brittany. You are right - sailing and the sea bring true friends together. My condolences for your loss of a dear friend. Losing friends is as devastating as losing parents and family. I wish you a safe passage wherever you are going.
Barry your videos are amazing and the ups and downs are the ways of life as you know so sad about Terry prayers to his family and your continued safety stay safe stay healthy stay cool.Sail on my friend I never met. Peace be with you and calm winds ahead.
The best part about long term cruising is in every anchorage you are surrounded by like kind people that you easily develop a deep bond. The worst part is leaving. Only to be followed by the best part.

Beautiful video…. This one grabbed me a bit more of the emotional side of things. The group of people you always seem to find yourself with are absolutely legends. Living a life I hope to myself sooner or later. I don’t know if you truly understand the impact you have on the people like me, on this side of the screen. Take care of yourself captain
My condolences. I wonder if Terry had a thought that before he went, he wanted to spend some great time together with his friends. It’s seems he enjoyed his life and like you did his own thing. Thank you for the episode and sharing with us.
Wow! That was heavy ending. Sorry for your loss but while in Ausie land you made a friend. Now that you're done with the Queens southern territories, good luck in South East Asia. Contimued good fortune and prevailing winds.
What A Great Stay In Australia Barry, Fixed The Boat, Went Shopping, Saw All Of Your Dear Friends And Truly Sorry About Your Friend Terry Edwards, He Will Be Remembered By All His Friends 💯💯❤❤Safe Travels To You And See You On Your Next Video, Wendy, Florida us!
So sad to see loss of a good friend, Barry. Good memories are all we really get to keep. Looking forward to further vicarious adventures. Stay safe friend.
I started the first yacht club in Darwin .. The Fanny Bay Yacht club in 1967 . There wasnt a marina then & we all angkered off fanny bay so i set up a club in an old concrete bunker in the sand hills behind the beach .. Great times .
Dang Skipper, Im so sorry for you loss. Losing a good friend is a hard pill to swallow, Ive lost 3 in as many years to the drug problem here in Eastern Kentucky. I worry about you Skipper. We're no longer pups, and we've got to take care of ourselves. So, you take care yourself Skipper, thats an Order. Great video all but the ending made me smile and I thank you for that. Once again Skipper, take care of yourself and fair winds to you and the SS White Shadow.
As a Darwin local I'm impressed that you cast our home in such a positive light, much appreciated! You even managed to get my boat in your shots down at Bayview so I;m surprised I didn't come across you down there. RIP to your lost friend.
Our family had a Mini Moke in the 70-80" - of all places Delaware USA at the beach. My brother and I learned to drive standard shift at 10 years old.. We sold it to another enthusiast and last I heard it was still alive and well. Stay well yourself!
So sad about your friend Barry, It was great that you managed to have a wonderful time with him before you left and these will be the memories you will carry with you across the seas. I am sure Terry will look in to see how his friend is doing and be a guiding light in times of need. Fair winds Barry.
We were in the same marina ,just in front of Barry’s boat for the time we were in Darwin. We have a heap of stories just from that time there.Thats just out of the Dinah Beach Club.So many colourful people.Great video and spot on about the heat, you can feel your brain cooking 😂😂😂 Rob and Jan ,TAHLAI TIGER.
RIP Terry, absolutely devastating. As for you Mr Old Dog, my father also suffered terribly from cellulitis, no laughing matter, without your health you have nothing, glad to see you back up and going. I look fwd to your content and hopefully you take care of your health so you can continue to share with us you incredible motivating adventure. PS not sure us Victorians can drink as much of those up in the North but I might be wrong. Might give it a crack tonight🤣🤣🤣
Sorry for the loss of Terry, yet take comfort knowing you had his friendship. On your travels you have more friends to meet, and you get to keep everyone in your heart. Raise a pint mate.
So very sad for your loss Barry, just try to console yourself knowing that Terry lived a full life of adventures that many of us can only dream of. It’s not how long you live, it’s how much living you have in that time. God bless, fair winds and safe travels.
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss, Barry. Friends like that are gold! We recently lost one of ours from a very long time ago, as well. You know they are truly your best friends when you can get together after not seeing each other for a very long time, one instance had been almost twenty years, and just pick right up where you left off from without skipping a beat. You spend the time laughing and truly enjoying each other’s company and then , just like that after a phone call verification, they’re gone. It’s hard to process. I spent the first day saying his name repeatedly, trying to grasp the reality, and then asked as many people as I could for prayers, and then cried every time I thought of him. It was a horrible couple of days after getting the news. I just keep thinking about those really great times and the uncountable number of laughs. So, I get it. You ask yourself, “Why?”, for a number of reasons, but it’s really just a way to keep your mind busy for awhile, isn’t it? In the big picture, I think you really just have to be thankful for having the chance to have had that time and relationship to start with. Don’t make the grieving about your loss, entirely. Make it a celebration of the time you had together to begin with. That’s my attitude at least. It doesn’t mean you won’t be sad, or you won’t really, really miss him. It just means you recognize and are thankful for being given the blessing of a true, unreplaceable friend. Believe it or not, there are people in the world who never experience that kind of love. Well, I guess I’m not cheering you up much. My condolences to Terry’s family and all your and his friends who were fortunate enough to know him. As for your adventures, tough luck on the sail, although your new one looks promising, and the respiratory infection/cellulitis return. It’s been my great adventure following you. 😊. I love your videos and all the narration. Your humor is ‘old school’, the kind people seem to get into trouble for using anymore, and it’s delightful. Thank you for taking us along👍🥰 and sharing both the positives and negatives to solo sailing life. RIP Terry, sail on in calmer, eternal winds to the unseen paradises of your dreams. Stay well and stay safe, Barry. 🥲🙏🏻
I am so sorry to hear about your friend Terry. What a tragic end. At least he went out doing what he loved, better than most of us get though still very sad it had to be so early :(
