This whole Pakistan journey reminds me a lot of my hometown Hotan on the other side of those mountains in north western china, you can actually see the city when you pause the map at 0:29. We used to take trips south west from Hotan into Sangzhu(close to Pakistan border) and the scenery and terrains look exactly like these video. Have never been to Pakistan but this all feels very nostalgic. Amazing video as always!
Hi Erkil, that's amazing. The whole area is just incredibly beautiful, unfortunately we couldn't travel that part of China but I'd happily go one day if I could I'm really happy you enjoyed it and it reminded you of your hometown :)
Wow! Spectacular scenery, amazing roads, beautiful people, incredible hospitality. What a journey! Have to say it again - Just absolutely loving watching your story unfold! Keep it up guys. Inspiring stuff.
Cheers mate, I'm glad you can all see how awesome and beautiful Pakistan is through our videos. Thanks again for your comments and ongoing support it really does keep us motivated, we hope to have the next episode out fairly soon.
Just one word....AMAZING!!!!!!! The scenery seems almost surreal. Yes I have heard that it’s quite normal for people in Pakistan to invite foreign strangers into their home for food and drinks, because they see them as guests in their country
Thanks Bill, Yeah Pakistan blew us away and the people were incredibly friendly. We heard it's a saying they have that tourists/travellers are a gift from God and should be looked after. It's sad as I know a Pakistani tourist in our countries would not get the same reception. It was all a very humbling experience. The next video should be out soon. Cheers
@@Northandleftabit Travelled through Iran many years ago on a bicycle and thought exactly the same thing!! Need to do Pakistan looks amazing, maybe on a motorbike this time!!
Hi Jim, glad you enjoyed it. Even looking back now it's crazy to see how cheap it was especially because I spend much more just living and working in a week than I did in 20 odd days in Pakistan haha
What an unbelievably epic trip this is for you guys. I don't believe this can be topped 👏👏👏. Amazing, totally amazing. You have opened my eyes to Pakistan, it looks fantastic. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing your experiences in China 😊👌👍
Cheers Nick, Pakistan was a huge suprise for us too we had heard good things but it definitely surpassed our expectations. I hope I can go back again at some point. China video should be out soon, we only had 3 days there and most of that was MANY police checks
Wow! Spectacular scenery,Hope, you had a wonderful tour of Pakistan and enjoyed the hospitality, Believe me,i have a great desire.that i should see shamshal valley .i tried twice but, came back scared
Fantastic as always! It's truly amazing how your channel hasn't blown up yet. You make awesome videos, great thumbnails, act natural on camera and surely you have a good average watch time as well. If there's anything I can suggest it's that short titles (below 50 characters even though thats super difficult), a teaser in the beginning and faces on thumbnails can definitely help. Everything else is just consistency and luck. You can be super proud of what you are producing here, most of the motorcycle UA-cam niche is usually boring GoPro footage mixed with terrible music.
Hi Sophie and Luke. Again your messages and tips mean so much to us and we really appreciate your kind words and support. The channel is growing at the pace of a small snail but its getting there haha. If we keep going who knows it might just blow up one day. Did your channel just grow slowly or ws there something or a particular video which made a huge difference? Thanks again for all the advice.
@@Northandleftabit No problem! It took us 2 full years of hard work to get to this point and finally be able to live off it full-time. Probably the biggest help was deciding to do weekly uploads in 2021. People just love consistency and knowing that each friday at 3pm CET they can expect a new video. That leads to more people watching which in turn makes UA-cam promote your videos to a wider audience. And if you upload 50+ videos each year you have 50 chances to land a viral hit. Not every video has to be a banger, sometimes people just want some background noise and watch you make an oil change or plan your next few days on a map. I could write a whole book about UA-cam, there's so much to cover. Send us an email (it's linked in our about page of the channel) if you have any further questions! :) Maybe we can make a video together sometime, we'll start our RTW by the end of the year and hopefully swing by Australia eventually.
Hello there, sorry to go off topic here. I just had a quick look at your channel, but even though my grand grandfather was Austrian, I cannot speak no German, but I have noticed the Himalayan. I have just bought Himalayan two days ago :-), for my birthday. I still do not have a license, nor did I ever rode a bike, but I intent to travel the world with it in couple of years (when I save up some money and buy some gear :-). How happy are you with the Himy?
@@davidlangthaler3521 The Himalayan is perfect. Super basic tech, easy to repair, enough power to get you up a mountain in thin air and the sound is just amazing. It has a fantastic range and fuel consumption and is sturdy but a bit heavy for its power. If 200kg is not too much for you then this is a perfect bike for a RTW trip. We are currently deciding between the Himalayan, CRF300 and KTM 390 Adventure when it comes to our trip :)
I've just come across your videos and they are amazing. I can't believe you don't have loads more subs but I am sure it will come. Keep up the great work.
Thanks mate, great you're enjoying them. The first Kyrgyzstan is nearly good to go so that will out this week. From a fellow biker, Sydney sider and a Pakistani bravo! what an incredible journey. Just watched all your videos and this is so inspiring. I can imagine the mental and physical toll it must have taken to travel all these Km's on the bike but when you do something you love and have passion for its all worth it. You have inspired me so much not just your visit to Pakistan but also all the other places you have visited and the best thing about the whole journey is that you guys have avoided big cities to show us the beauty of small and remote areas of the world. Keep it up guys!
Hi Omar, I urge everyone in Pakistan to try travel to the north as its by far one of the best and most beautiful places I have been in the world. Love it
We LOVED Pakistan, it's a very special country. Please share our videos with and friends or groups you think might enjoy them and show off your country to the world
Came across to your channel today following a recommendation. Wow...great editing and fantastically produced. Sat down and just watched all 18 episode's in one day. Looking forward to when you upload the next one. Ride safe 👍🇬🇧
Just noticed your videos are missing the watermark, good to have it for copy right etc. Btw loving the Pakistani series from two very laid back chilled out lads!
Hi mate, what do you mean by the watermark? Thanks mate I'm glad you're enjoying the vids we hope to keep them going out as the next few countries should be very entertaining
There aren't many adv videos that I enjoy watching. It's either too much raw footage, or too much irrelevant footage, but you've done a great job of showing me what I'd like to see. Good introductions to the people, good voice-over/dialog. I'll be watching more episodes, great job!
Thanks Tom, we're glad you're enjoying them. It's mostly just us having a laugh trying to show a no BS real account of our journey. The channel is growing slow and steady but more importantly these vids will be great to watch back when we're old and grey haha. Next episode should be out soon
Yeah its an insanely beautiful part of the world and reason we risked taking our drone over the boarder. Even watching it back now myself I'm amazed at how beautiful the landscape was. If you're enjoying our vids please feel free to share with friends or groups as it would really help us grow the channel and motivate us to keep the vids coming. On that note Kyrgyzstan pt 1 will be out this week
Amazing video again! Thanks for the cost breakdowns on each country, this is super helpful. It's a great reminder that round-the-world motorcycle travel can be incredibly inexpensive!
Hi Michael, yeah we started tracking the costs after a few countries. It's scary how cheap travel can we and more people should be aware of it. I know we lived cheaply but we also did everything we wanted, the breakdown also includes clothes, bike parts etc so it really is EVERYTHING. If you think Pakistan was cheap you should see how little we spent in Tajikisan
Brought back all the good memory's of Pakistan when we ventured there, including over the Khungerab, back in 17. Then onto Chinese bureaucracy............................😳☹️
Oh yes the Chinese bureaucracy was a whole new level, you get used to long borde crossings when overlanding but this was beyond a joke. Worst part is it continues alllllll the way through the country too haha
This channel will blow up as soon as the Pakistanis see these videos as they don't know yet. I was going through the Frenchy(another biker youtuber from France) videos who was travelling all over northern Pakistan and then Islamabad & Lahore. When I finished all his episodes, your video was in the random suggestions so watched all your Pakistani episodes in one go. I think your videos are far more better than his, as you guys had more adventurous rides while he was complaining a lot about the roads lol. I am a biker myself originally from North west Pakistan but living in Canada, we do long trips here but not like you guys ofcorse. Your videos are more like an inspiration to me and I am now thinking to go back home and travel all over in my country on the bike. Have fun and keep the dirty side down guys
Wonderful footage of spectacular mountains, valleys and meadows. Lovely encounters with local people. You add interest by taking us on some adventures on foot too. I really enjoy following your travels and the attitude you bring to them. For any of you who haven't followed this trip from the beginning - I suggest you do. Their travels in East Timor and Indonesia - a part of the world I know very well since 1970 - will reveal a part of the world that is not well documented by overlanders. Very beautiful islands and friendly open hearted locals. Highly recommended.
Damn i miss Pakistan. Rented a suzuki GS150 and explored the northern areas for 1 month there back in 2018. Brings back so much memories watching your vlog! Hopefully one day ill be able to do a trip like yours
Sorry for the delay but it short no, it was 1000% times better and I'd recommend it everyone. Don't believe the media is all I can say, especially when it comes to the north
Thanks mate, really appreciate your comments and support. We are finding it a little hard to grow the channel but feel free to share our videos with your friends or any groups you think might like it. Thanks again :)
Yeah mate, in lots of lots of the remote villages many of the kids seemed to have uniforms. It was surprising how smart they all looked. I'm glad you're enjoying our channel
We're riding our own bikes all the way from Australia to the uk and this is around the halfway point. Feel free to subscribe and check out our other videos to see the full journey.
Have absolutely loved your videos. So inspiring and have learned so much. Huge thanks for your generosity with your explanations and showing your journey on maps. How long did you spend in Pakistan and through Tajikistan (Karakoram and Pamir Highways + side trips) and what time of year was it? Do point me to which episode if you explain this elsewhere. Many thanks.
Hi mate, we have actually finished the trip and just editing videos. The DRs w were amazing however we do have a few issues in Kyrgyzstan and Georgia however neither were really the bikes fault. They were bloody slow riding to the border though dude to the fact our airboxes were both blocked up haha
It was great as always I had a question, can these roads that you went to the mountains be taken only by motorcycle or by a truck or a two-differential car like the Toyota Land Cruiser? thanks for your attention
Hi Hamid, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. All the roads we went on you could definitely do in a 4x4 and usually a 2 wheel drive car, the issue you might have is if there is a landslide as there were lots of large rocks on the road. I know the roads often get closed due to landslides but you would have to be very unlucky. Definitely worth going to though :)
this series is truly mind-blowing.. I hope to someday be able to do the same! A small question; which camera and lens etc did you guys use to capture such amazing footage?.. do you have a link or list somewhere with the gear you brought? thanks so much. Again truly epic stuff guys!
We had a few different cameras. The main one we used was a Sony A7s. Swapping between 2 different lenses. Used a 16-35 f4. Mostly, and had a Tamron 28-70m. James had a gopro 7 for helmet cam. I had a Garmin Virb as a helmet camera. I would NOT recommend the Garmin Virb. We also had the Mavic Pro 2 drone And finally, James had a Sony RX100 point and shoot camera that we sometimes used. But the audio is terrible
Thanks for your support and kind words it keeps us motivated to get more videos out. Hopefully one day the UA-cam gods will help us and start recommending our videos to others to help it grow.
My suggestion is use pakistan flag in thumbnail and also first world should be pakistan in thumbnail then you will attract more and more views pakistan.right now not many pakistan know about this fantastic channel.
Hi mate. We tried the follow function on the drone but it usually didn't work. Often we set the drone at a constant speed and rode next to it or Jay would try control it whilst riding which is tricky on those roads haha
Best performance and information 👏 But this video is captured 2 months before now in January I think its impossible to cross khunjrab... Anyway I will wait for your China trip videos..
Hi mate, this was filmed a few years ago just before covid. The editing takes along time and wsnt possible when riding for 10 hours a day often without electricity or internet haha. Glad you're enjoying them, China will be out this week
Great stuff, reminds me very much of the Andes in Bolivia/Peru/Chile area, which I explored back when I used to live there. Just couple of questions today, the boots you were wearing, and how happy were you with them, and the jackets and pants? Keep it coming :-), I love it!!!
Hi mate, sorry we havnt responded to all your questions yet but don't worry I will. The boots were alpinstar corozal (both had them) they're comfy enough to walk in and offer decent protection. Mx style offer more protection but I'd hate to wear them for 9 months and often we would have to walk around a fair bit in bike gear, it would such having to get changed all the time. I'd heavily recommend them. Where are you based? So awesome tonhear you got a bike, I know a few people with a Himalayan
@@Northandleftabit No worries, I have plenty of time :-). I was looking at those boots, but I nearly bought Klim adventure boots, but as I was to pay for them (they were already in my basket) the last pair got sold. So now I am looking at Gaerne Dakkars or Sidi adventure, or wait around for the Klim boots, bloody expensive decision. That is the point I want boots I can walk in even hike a little, but at the same time have some decent protection. Bike got delivered last night, now I have to learn how to ride, just rode it around the garden :-) in the first, pushing it around with my legs and stalling it few times, feel like such a knob :-). Anyway, I am based in Melbourne. Love your editing and the whole story line.
@@davidlangthaler3521 hahah thats awesome. What colour did you get? Just think that bike you're wobbling around on will one day hopefully take you to some crazy places and you will have many adventures together. I just spent the last few days watching all your videos to date. Wow. I've watched so many UA-cam motorcycle channels but you guys have made the best to me. I found you because of the DR650's. I'm about to start traveling on my DR650 on May 1st. The first part is from Arizona"s Mexican border to Alaska. Then all the way down to Florida"s Key Largo. Then across the Southern states back to Tucson, Arizona. I'll probably head down to South America eventually. You guys are so lucky to have so much in interest to make trips like this. None of my friends would ever do this type of traveling. I look forward to more of your inspirational episodes. Keep them coming because I can't imagine you won't get more and more followers. Man your videos need many thousands more views....
Thanks mate, really appreciate your comments and support.
We are finding it a little hard to grow the channel but feel free to share our videos with your friends or any groups you think might like it.
Thanks again :)
I have been to that shrine. What a beautiful beautiful peaceful place.
Yeah we were very lucky to get up there and the road was incredible
Amazing shot, editing
What a scenery, truly amazing!! Thanks for sharing! Question, is the road on the side of the cliff one way only or two ways?
Brilliant!
Thanks mate we should have the china vid out soon
U guys are doing great work hope i can do once in my life ☺️
Hi Alii, yes please make it happen I'm confident you won't regret it
@@Northandleftabit thanks
You guys are really Underrated
I really Like Your Vlogs
Thank you for Visiting Pakistan
Respect♥️♥️
Thanks mate, we loved PAkistan and both hope to go back one day.
Incredible ... the whole thing is amazing ... at 6:25 kids from school wearing uniform?
Yeah mate, in lots of lots of the remote villages many of the kids seemed to have uniforms. It was surprising how smart they all looked.
I'm glad you're enjoying our channel
1 year ago on my visit high valley bridge washout ,today I will finish my trip! Nice
That's amazing. Hope you had a great time
Awesome, thanks for sharing. I assume that these were your bikes, and not locally hired ones?
We're riding our own bikes all the way from Australia to the uk and this is around the halfway point. Feel free to subscribe and check out our other videos to see the full journey.
@@Northandleftabit cheers, looks exciting. About to binge watch your videos over the weekend :)
How amazing to get that close to the Afghanistan border. Can't wait to see what's in the airbox :)
Love these, great stuff
Thanks Simon, we hope to get more out soon
Have absolutely loved your videos. So inspiring and have learned so much. Huge thanks for your generosity with your explanations and showing your journey on maps.
How long did you spend in Pakistan and through Tajikistan (Karakoram and Pamir Highways + side trips) and what time of year was it? Do point me to which episode if you explain this elsewhere. Many thanks.
Absolutely amazing
Thanks for the ride boys!
Drone footage amazing
Yeah the scenery is just incredible up there
Epic as always!
Loved it!
Thanks mate, Pakistan really was amazing. Feel free to subscribe to our channel, the China video will be out this week
Love it! How were the DR's going so far at this point in the trip? Also how did they fair with the high altitude?
Hi mate, we have actually finished the trip and just editing videos. The DRs w were amazing however we do have a few issues in Kyrgyzstan and Georgia however neither were really the bikes fault. They were bloody slow riding to the border though dude to the fact our airboxes were both blocked up haha
It was great as always
I had a question, can these roads that you went to the mountains be taken only by motorcycle or by a truck or a two-differential car like the Toyota Land Cruiser?
thanks for your attention
Hi Hamid, I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
All the roads we went on you could definitely do in a 4x4 and usually a 2 wheel drive car, the issue you might have is if there is a landslide as there were lots of large rocks on the road. I know the roads often get closed due to landslides but you would have to be very unlucky.
Definitely worth going to though :)
I have no words for this journey of yours and only SALUTE
Thanks mate, lots more to come.
this series is truly mind-blowing..
We also had the Mavic Pro 2 drone
And finally, James had a Sony RX100 point and shoot camera that we sometimes used. But the audio is terrible
How is this so beautifully shot and has only 1,000 views?!
Thanks for your support and kind words it keeps us motivated to get more videos out. Hopefully one day the UA-cam gods will help us and start recommending our videos to others to help it grow.
@@Northandleftabit I've had to go back and watch it all from the start!
@@scunner3rd Awesome. Might take you a little while but I hope you enjoy them. Feel free to comment on and like each one to help us out haha
My suggestion is use pakistan flag in thumbnail and also first world should be pakistan in thumbnail then you will attract more and more views pakistan.right now not many pakistan know about this fantastic channel.
@@tahirkhan000 thankyou for the tip.
Please feel free to share the videos with your friends or groups you think will enjoy the videos
wow the country was awsome
How did you take the drone shots while driving bikes??? Anyhow amazing videos🙌
Hi mate. We tried the follow function on the drone but it usually didn't work. Often we set the drone at a constant speed and rode next to it or Jay would try control it whilst riding which is tricky on those roads haha
Where are you boys now, back home or off on another adventure ? Love you videos.
Best performance and information 👏
But this video is captured 2 months before now in January I think its impossible to cross khunjrab...
Anyway I will wait for your China trip videos..
Hi mate, this was filmed a few years ago just before covid. The editing takes along time and wsnt possible when riding for 10 hours a day often without electricity or internet haha.
Glad you're enjoying them, China will be out this week
Incredible
Thanks mate, hope to have more out soon
Good stuff.Look like Drz 400s.Got a Honda Xr650l and an older xl600 myself….
It's actually a DR650 but very similar. All great and simple bikes :)
@@Northandleftabit Smokes!I shoulda seen it on the pc!Yes a good bike.Friends got one .Had bought one for a relative as well
I hope you come back insallah
Yes mate one day definitely
Safe travels
Thanks mate
Fantastic series!
Thanks mate we hope to have more episodes out soon.
Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰❤️
"they also wanted to box james" 😂 these guys are brutal!
Very cool, we're both in Sydney atm and happy to answer any other questions you might have
@@Northandleftabit I got the gravel grey. I hope so, I managed to drop it already (in the garden on the grass, just making tight circles :-))
Most Most Welcome to Pakistan 😍🇵🇰❤
Thankyou we loved it there
@@Northandleftabit Welcome ❤
Welcome to Pakistan ❤️ I'm from Karachi Pakistan so please come if you can
Thanks for the offer but sorry we have already left Pakistan. It's an amazing country though
Love your video Pakistani 🇵🇰people r the most generous people in the world u have put something in bike air filter remove that it’s empty 4 a reason so bike can breathe
All will make sense in the next episode regarding the airfilter. It's only in there to get something into China which isn't allowed. We knew it would impact the bike performance but we had no options.
First of all!! I love your videos! Watched em all and they are pretty motivating! I guess u guys wearing the schuberth E1 right?... U know what sucks!? I can't get it anywhere anymore. Do you know who still sells this helmet? Need in L.... In glossy white of course! Take care and ride on! Cheers
Thanks mate, I'm glad you're enjoying them feel free to subscribe for more videos (China out this week)
Yep you're correct it's the E1. We purchased ours years ago from Europe as was much cheaper than Australia even with shipping.
Try these three.

@@Northandleftabit Hey, thanks for the answer! I will have a look! Yea i am pretty excited for the next episode in china! Can't wait to see what the hell u've smuggled in your motorcycle.. .. Looked like you put it into the airfilter box but i might be wrong 😉😅 I am a motorcyclist myself and this year i wanna hop on my old africatwin to have some adventures as well. Your episodes are over the top inspirational, keep up this awesome work! Regards from Germany 🤙🏻 (already subscribed)
@@nils_on_wheels yeah mate the airbox, didn't help with the bikes power at altitude but we got by haha
@@Northandleftabit haha.. Well if it helped to get through the boarder it was worth a jerky ride..😅 When does your next episode appear? I am waiting.. Cheers
@@nils_on_wheels haha very good point. China episode should be out within the next week
Thanks for the great episode so I can stare at my phone and ignore my family!
Braver men than me!!!! Those drops!!!!

love from india 💐💐
Thanks Sahil, India is an incredible country. Please share our videos with friends or groups you think might enjoy them too
in this video didnt show where you top up the petrol .....how far from one station to another station
People have no idea what they are missing that haven't found your channel yet!
Thanks mate, love messages like yours as it really motivates us to keep the videos coming out.
Sounds like you have an incredible trip ahead of you but be warned once you start its hard to stop haha. The DR will serve you well, it's not the most exciting bike in the world but it is bloody awesome regardless and perfect for overlanding.
If you ever somehow end up in Australia on your bike let us know and we can show you around Sydney and let you crash at one of our places.
Yeah we're finding it tricky and confusing on how to grow the channel but maybe it will get there one day haha.
Cheers
Amazing
Thanks for the comment we hope to have more episodes out soon
Well filmed boys, envious dammit !
Yeah cheers mate, best thing we have ever done
Finally
Don't worry more to come Mike
Your episodes get better every upload. Cheers lads, enjoying this
Thanks Joel. Hopefully you're watching them in order so that you have quite a few left to catch-up on.
