Do you have a pencil holder / pencil extender? They're amazing for getting extra life out of your pencils. :D I'm not sure if they'd fit a blackwing but it would fit the cheaper ones for sure. For cheaper pencils I sharpen with a knife and some sandpaper...usually for art but it does the trick for writing too. I really like that you go back to basics, I makes me want to stop looking to and hoarding stationery and just enjoy what I have or can access anywhere.
I do not have any extender but I know what you mean. I like to finish my pencil into a stump and collect in my jar after😅 also I always carry pencil behind my ear so there is no way for me to get a huge brass holder or something like that. Yeah, “go to basic” thing has been a huge game changer for me to start creating🙃
In my opinion, the Mitsubishi 9800 is the perfect intersection of price and quality. The 2B grade is very similar in texture and feel to the Blackwing 602, and they cost anywhere from $0.50 to $1.00 each, depending on where you buyv them.
I've always wanted to try a Blackwing just to see what all the hype is about, but I don't want to buy an entire (expensive!) box just to try a single pencil, and I haven't been able to find anyplace that sells them individually.

Thank you for the advice! Will definitely try to obtain one in near future! Glad to see more and more pencil users🫡
