- The 8th Lord and Lady Berwick were given a silver tea set by the Attingham tenants, which Lady Berwick used to serve tea to her guests in the Sultana Room. There were many guests to the house in the 1920s and 30s which brought Attingham back to life after a period of neglect.
In honour of the hospitality Lord and Lady Berwick showed their guests we decided to create an Afternoon Tea offer. We wanted to reflect Lady Berwick's glamorous appearance and her arrival at Attingham in the 1920s. Her photographs appeared in Tatler and Country Life, and she was a regular guest at Buckingham Palace garden parties, opera and social occasions in London as well as Shropshire. You can see some of her studio photographs from this period around the walls.
The 8th Lady Berwick put so much effort into the conservation of Attingham, it's lovely to see her remembered in this way, so her legacy can live on in such a celebratory way. We all love afternoon tea!
Nice! Great to see more of the house open to visitors. And more space for tea. :)
Nice Vid! Enjoy that.
To Mia View - it is, of course, the unmistakable... Chopin.
Nice song…. can u tell who play this song???????
People seriously need to make the effort to dress up for these things. A T-shirt is a no no and what I see the women there wearing does not honour the host or whoever organised the tea party for them.
