  • Today on Eating with Robert, I hit a true classic spot: PYZA in Greenpoint. Before I launch into a rambling story about my life could you make sure you share this one? I want everyone in Williamsburg to hate me.
As I mention in the video, I haven’t been to Pyza since 2017, right after I learned my friend Brian got thrown 30 feet down McGuiness Boulevard in a hit and run. I was having a pre-meal donut at Peter Pan, as one does. Brian texted me from the back of the ambulance, which I took as his blessing to continue onto Pyza and then to Matchless to see a band called Grace Kelly All Day. Man, remember shows? Also shouts out to past-me for eating a donut and a large Polish meal before drinking heavily at a rock and roll show, that’s just good sense!
Anyway, I’ve always been strictly a veal cutlet man at Pyza, with the occasional pierogies on the side and sometimes even a blintz. But my friend Margarita was extremely insistent I get the Polish plate, so here we are. The Polish Plate is a bonafide beast of a meal, a true winter supper, and the ideal way to get a grasp on a restaurant that, frankly, doesn’t really care if you eat there or not. The Polish Plate is like the Marauder’s Map of Pyza, and eating it is almost assuredly confirming that you are up to no good. It’s a strong move.
This is episode 10! I was reluctant to shoot even a second episode and now we’re in double digits. Like and share this video PLEASE if you like the show. I’ll probably keep doing it anyway, cause I like making it. See ya next time. More from Rob Martinez:

    Pierogi is already plural

chips are plural but polish people still call them "chipsy". Just because it's plural in one language doesn't mean it is in another.

Polish potato pancakes are made by grating the potatoes on the smallest sized holes in the grater ( almost like using microplane grater ) . Then you drain it ( from accumulated potato juices )and add an egg , some flour , salt and pepper. That's how you get this nice texture :)
Also Pyza's are type of dumplings that uses potato-based dough. If the restaurant is named Pyza they should have them in offer i think. You should try it. It's very good.

Thank you - I'm trying to get better with my research. I'll definitely go try the real pyza!

This is like 4 dinners in one :) In "real life" you'd never get these served together on one plate, but I guess it does give you a chance to experience a sizeable chunk of Polish flavours in one go. Thumbs up!
I like your content! It's so...what's the opposite of covered with glitter, airbrushed and pretentious?
    Cheers from Sheffield!

You have to try Little Poland on 2nd avenue and 12th street in Manhattan. Their combination plate is amazing and they have bigos. You should also try going to Copaigue on Long Island because there are many polish places there

No I don’t need to. My later episodes are a bit cleaner at the urging of my sister. Thanks for giving the video a watch!
