In Switzerland, 90% of businesses are close on Sundays. No malls and supermarkets. People say - Sunday is for God and family.
Carmencita Vettori that’s a very nice practice it used to be in Hungary this way for sometime but they changed it sadly, multinational companies liked the idea to Work Sundays all day long
Same with Chick-fil-a in the United States
America used to be that way up until the 1990’s when stores and businesses started being open on Sunday.
Oh man... The answer about Lucifer represents so well why I could neber be Catholic (with respect)- that answer about Mary has no grounding in scripture at all. There are so many beautiful things about the Roman tradition but this exalting of Mary is nit one of them.
I am convinced that the end of the Blue Laws in the United States was beginning of the unraveling of Christian life in our society.
One of my 7th grade students, Maria, says that Mary is the new Light Bearer because she held the light, which is Christ :)
awesome answer! tell her that her name, Maria, is the name of the Virgin Mary in portuguese: Maria, Virgem Maria, Santa Maria
That’s so beautiful. You know yes Mary literally held the light that is Christ our Lord. It’s my oldest Son’s birthday tomorrow. He’s all grown up and in the last part of his twenties now. I remember when my first Wife was pregnant with him. I used to love feeling him kick while he was inside her Womb. That always reminded me of when Mary met Elizabeth and Elizabeth was pregnant with John the Baptist. The verse says of Elizabeth that the ‘child moved within her’. It was as if even while still in utero John recognised this was Jesus, the light of the World who was even then coming into the world. I love thinking of Mary as the new light bearer because as the Father says here Lucifer rebelled and pridefully disobeyed God. However Mary humbly accepted God’s will for her and her life and thanks be to God our Saviour Jesus Christ was born into this World to save sinners like ourselves.
@@murderface3r , like me my youngest Son is of Goan Portuguese extraction. He has taught himself Portuguese and has studied in Portugal with Surrey University. We have a wonderful Portuguese family who live on our road.
That’s a title of St Joseph, light custodian too
@Michaleleer do you have pictures of family hung up in your home? What of family members who have passed away? Do you never speak to those pictures or simply look at them and say something hoping tjey could hear you? If so, is that worshipping them as idols? "Oh grandma, I know you're looking out for me, please help deal with this situation which I know you're familiar with." That's not worshipping that's asking intercession, there's a BIG difference.

Can you give us a testament to how you became a priest?
I'm glad I found Father Mike, he is full of life, charismatic and a joy to listen to. He presents difficult theological topics very simply. I used to listen Fr. John Carapi before the scandals but even now believe he is holy man. I see Christ in Father Mike, Jesus also was charismatic, and easy to listen to, even though the Truth no mater how it is conveyed can can cut us. I pray Father Mike's ministry will continue to flourish as the Holy Spirit continues to animate his love for God, for his neighbor and the Church.
Fr Mike's answer to "Leetle flower".. hilarious voiceovers,😂 illuminating answer..Thank you Father 🙏👍

How can we become closer with our guardian angels? Also, what happens to them when we are no longer on this earth?
I want that wan answered too
+owen Spisak Me too!! And do we each only have one or can we have more than one?
+jeanpaulabshire Guardian angels don't leave us when we get to heaven, they are waiting for us there to join them.
+Sweet Heart You can have more than one, and what's really cool is that we can pray to become closer to them and ask how many we have and what their names are.
+Julia Lindell Just wanted to say that the Church emphasizes extreme caution on asking for names of your guardian angel or even naming them yourself (which some do). This can be very dangerous.
He just wants everyone to be thankfull. You are a bright and beautiful. Much love and light. Thesun morning star.
This guy is really enthusiastic
Not making fun just noticed
#askfrmike How can I make a good examination of conscience? This is something I struggle with and want to get better at.
God always bless you and protect you. Thank you papa for creating fr mike and for teaching us through him.
thank you for all this info Fr. Mike.. you are awesome
I loved the how you explained that Many is God’s greatest spiritual and material creation, I believe this, she has all the power against the enemy.
No, she doesn’t. Do you have a chapter and verse for that in the Bible? Because if you don’t your imagination is lying to you and you, in turn, are lying.
I love the illustration of Mary on the wall. Plus, your videos are great.
I wish my boss listened to you about that work response.
Thank you Fr. Mike God Bless
I love the idea of beginning on Saturday afternoon/evening!
Oh my gosh the subtitles!! When he does God's voice please turn on the subtitles guys
Father Mike you're so precious for all of us Catholics aaround the world.
Excellent video Fr Schmitz!
I am now looking forward to seeing more father Mike impressions!
Thank you father Mike

How do you, and other priests, write and prepare homilies? How do you decide what is most important for your community to hear that day?
Lauren Hammons in my experience, most homilies have to do with the reading of that day.
I work Sundays a lot and have a lot Wednesdays, Thursdays and other days off. When one week, I only work Monday, Tuesday and Sunday, I can’t call in sick on Sunday because I won’t get enough money each month if I do that every time... I rest the other days of the week. The fact that it’s always Sunday makes it almost impossible for me. That means I have to lie and call in sick for work.
#AskFrMike Hi Fr. Mike, how are you? How would you answer questions about Mary's Purity, the Assumption, and the Catholic Church being the one true Church? My Protestant friends who I'm living with challenge me on a lot of things to do with my Faith a lot and sometimes I don't know how to respond. It hurts when they kind of bash Mary as I'm very close and devoted to her. Thanks Father, God bless you in all that you do! I lovew your videos, they always uplift me :) Niall, from Ireland.
I get how you feel. I don't understand why people with other religions always bash and criticize Catholics. "Why do you believe in this" "why do you believe in that" or " you're wrong about this or that". Man, I don't criticize other religions or tell them they are wrong in what they believe. I have been questioned numerous times and I get angry with myself because I haven't been able do "defend" my religion or haven't been able to respond to their questions. I've felt as if I'm being attacked. This is why I want to learn more about my religion and be able to defend my faith. I have a looooong way to go. There is so much I don't know. 😕
ua-cam.com/video/Dn1tWuIoZsg/v-deo.html This guy is amazing if you have the time. Very scriptural and really helped me understand where these doctrines are in the bible.
@The Lesser Confessor please sr. Respect the protestan, every one deserves a little of respect. So catholics are the church of Jesus? No, the real church was the one the apostle create by preaching the word to the world, they die preaching the word in the street, these new churches didnt even go to the streets to preach the word but in the other side the protestant they are always on the streets like Jesus did, like the apostle did, like a real christian, so every church had bad and good. Dont come here saying" satan create protestant" when they are better christians than you.
@@Jmiguel175 you are right, Catholic should not bash Protestants and Protestants should not bash Catholics... Our division has driven so many from Christianity, persecution by fellow Christians is heart breaking. It is time for Christians - Catholics and Protestants to pray for unity, to find what we agree on..."a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand"
@@BlessYouAngel is not about unifying religions or doctrines, is about reading the bible and follow what the bible says no matter if someone has a diferent point of view, if your point of view is not validated by the bible then you are wrong. Everyone wants to have a diferent opinion on the gospel and thats what bring us to these and all these religions and cults. Is not our opinion is what the bible said period.
Haha the ☁wind 😂😂!! Great video Fr. Mike ..God Bless You !
Wow! So much light to my weekend... I Pray to Trinity since I was a child... in my heart God is One...
Thank you because of your explanations I am willing to love God more and better ... and Our Holy Mother Mary... It is a great present. Thank you Fr Mike, I pray for you! Flowers in colours from my heart. :)
I am from Mexico City.
My advice to you is pray to God, and only to God.
In Deuteronomy, Jesus tells the Israelites: your God is one.
In John 17:3 Jesus calls the Father the only true God.
It's clear that you are struggling with this. I'm telling you that the reason is, because it isn't right.
I advise you to check out Islam.
It makes sense, and it's clear.
And all answers are clearly given to all your questions, straight from God, in the Quran.
No intermediary needed.
No priest, no church, no human, no confusion.
If you have questions, I'll try my best to answer them to the best of my knowledge.
4:08 that voice cracks me up😂
Thank You Fr. MC

Mindblown by the first answer!!!!👏👏👏❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the commentary on the Sabbath rest.
I think… His Voice is !!!! It will melts my heart anyway 🤤💕
Thank you! I struggle to not work Sundays
Hi Father this so struck a chord with the scripture I read this morning on Bible Gateway from the Psalms
51:12. ‘Return the joy of your salvation to me and sustain me with a willing spirit.’
I was thinking it’s not like the Lord needs us to ‘big him up’ or praise him. It’s not like he’s some kind of celebrity who feeds off our adulation and gets a bit miffed if we don’t constantly tell him how great we reckon he is. Love your Channel Father. Keep up the good work and may the Lord richly bless you in ministry of his word and his unfailing love.
You are so funny , love the voices .you have a quirky sense of humour that tickles my funny bone.
Wow that answer of Mary was amazing. Never thought of that. It makes perfect sense if you think about it. Its everywhere in the revelation where it writes how the women battles against the beast.
Thanku Fr. Mike was looking for short description on Trinity
4:09 Best voice I've heard for God ever! My sides!!!
Omgoodness those impressions were funny.🤣🤣
Long time follower, first time commenter here.
With too many false shepherds in the world right now preaching heresies, such a blessing to have Father Mike as an online influencer to guide us on the right path. Thank you Father and God Bless you
Wow - Father Mike, you are the first american that i've ever seen who fixed the hand signal for the number 2 from the gesture which here in Ireland is vulgar to the acceptable palm forward version. Well done Father :) !!! Loving the videos Father, I've been looking for a channel like this for ages. Thanks for these videos! :)
lol .... Mystery explained! I wondered why he always does that.
When you say "God is love", is that just a poetic metaphor, or is it the literal truth? The abstract, impersonal phenomenon of love is the same as the concrete, conscious Being of God? Does that mean that the love I feel for friends and family is part of God?That's amazing, and trippy in a good way.
#askfrmike: Hi, I asked my pastor if we could organise a fundraising to buy Bibles to put in each pew of our church. He answered that even if they were all free, he didn't know what they'd do with the Bibles; they weren't needed in each pew. I like to sit in church in the middle of the day talking to Jesus and I always wish there was a Bible there. My pastor said I could just bring my own; that the readings necessary for Mass were in the missel. Even if that's true, is there a legitimate reason not to have Bibles in our church pews? How could a church say, "no"?
#ASKFRMIKE
Hello and thank you for considering my question. My brother asked me this once. He was very bitter in his life in many ways, but nobody seemed to be able answer it:
He said, “If God loved the world so much, why did he cast Satan to the earth? “
Thanks for your consideration and many videos that are a blessing.
Praying for you and many others -
Thank you 🙏🏻
I can give you the Muslim answer if you would like...
It's a smart question, yet easy to answer for Muslims.
I don't know how it would be answered from a Christian view though.

The Holy Spirit is God in action. the holy Spirit moved on Mary and she concieved...

Great answers to difficult questions. Thank you Father Mike. God bless.

I have been meditating and praying for a while and I keep on asking God to open my ears to His voice. Sometimes I sit quietly and meditate in order to listen to what God has to say but I don't know if He is truly speaking to me or if it is just the voices (or me talking to myself) inside my head. Let me know if you have any spiritual advice. Thanks
I used to struggle with this a lot. Then I was once told that reading scripture is the best way of listening to God speak to us. It's amazing! Scripture is the Living Word, we can read the same passage so many times and each time God whispers different things to us as new things stand out when we read it.
Thanks for letting me know. I didn't think I would even get a response from anyone. What you said is a good way to think about hearing God's voice. Thanks again for the tips. God Bless.
Colin DeHaven Im glad to have helped!!! Reading scripture daily really helps me in my spiritual growth (:
I know what you mean. I've heard the best way to hear God is by disconnecting yourself from everything and not think of anything and to be in silence but like you said, I think that I'm just listening to myself thinking. It's really hard 😕
chaveochoa Yeah its tough
tq father
G bless you brother

#askfrmike when we pray to God are we essentially praying to sway God's mind a certain way or are his choices set in stone? I guess I'm asking what prayer really does in the mind and heart of God.
#ASKFRMIKE Any tips on how to listen to what God wants to tell me?
+macben de souza Best thing to do is pray, anything that brings you closer to God will help you see what his plan is for your life. There are some really cool resources online to increase your prayer life, just Google it
+Julia Lindell I can pray but I find it difficult to keep quiet and listen to God and what he wants to tell me instead of me doing all the talking. thanks for the reply though :)
+OrganicOrganist Thanks for sharing your perspective. Personally I think of prayer as a two-way thing, I consider my relationship with God as something like a friendship. If I had a friend who always talked but never listened it would be hard to continue a relationship with them, but these are just my thoughts.
I used to wonder this all the time. I think the best way to listen to God is by reading scripture, especially the gospels and the rest of the New Testament.
macben de souza O sweety .seek and you shall find .Knock and the door will be opened .Im older.I know the answer .When i was younger I didn't hears God voice .I started really getting in to my bible .There is a proverb for every day then i would end it with a pslam and then I would do my prayers .I asked for it .Lord let me hear your voice .Help me in my day .Well he didnt use a mega phone .Its like this .If you are in the military, and you squad , is practicing with a nother squad ..The voice you hear out in the field is your captians voice .not the other teams captian .Because you only hear what your captian is saying ..Same with sports .If im out on the field .My captain is yelling for me to do this with the ball .yes im going to do it .I pay no mind to the other teams coach.Only to mine .Thats how God works .So ask him Lord please let me hear you !then you will one way or the other .He will never leave you .He is always there .He is Your God .We are his people GBU
Good advice. Good teaching

Hey Father Mike, love the videos! So here's my question, I've been a devoted Catholic for 20 years now (yes I'm 20 years old), but till this day, I'm not too sure how to pray to Mother Mary. I know all these facts about Mother Mary, how she's the Mother of the Church and such, but my question is how do you pray to her, or with her? Also, I'm still trying to understand the Rosary too, maybe you could do a video on these topics? Haha. #askfrmike
Pray the Rosary daily, that’s literally praying with Our Blessed Mother to Jesus and ask St. Joseph to help you get to know her more, no human person has ever been devoted to Our Blessed Mother more than St. Joseph.
He’ll guide you to Jesus through Mary.
Thank you so much, Fr. Mike, for all of your videos! Your advice really helped me to gain more knowledge about living the holy life God has called me to live. They have revealed much light on the dark areas of my life and lifted me higher. May God bless you abundantly in all that you do!!!
thanks Fr :)
#askfrmike I've been told that our calling/vocation is always in line with our natural gifts because God gave us those gifts for a reason, but our vocation also has to lead us to virtue so it has to be challenging. When discerning my calling, how can I tell the difference between a part that's meant to stretch me and a part that isn't in line with my nature because God doesn't intend that calling for me?
When I was a child my parents allowed “stuff” to happen to me. Through my life, I’ve become closer to God and now that’s my reason for living. I always thought I would never be able to forgive them. Last week my mother got sick and had to go to the hospital. The first thing I did was ask for Gods mercy with her. (She has her own God)Have I forgiven them?
Great comments
"So then who is lucifer's opposite? That's a good question! Well, thank you father Mike, well it's easy... you brought it up!" XD
Amaziing videoo thank you so much❤
Love it.... Fr Mike... you are so Spirited, I enjoy listening to you and all you teach us all... Prayers , Peace and God Bless 🙏✝️💒🕊
Great video!
Sunday is the Sabbath not just a day off. I get all my chores done by Saturday so Sunday is a holy day focussed on the Lord. It IS doable. Sunday service essential. Then, Family time, scripture study, spiritual literature, sleep, journal writing, letter writing, calling those without family, a nice leisurely meal at the table, listen to choral music, visit the sick, etc. We do not watch tv or movies on the sabbath. Neither do we go out to eat or shop thus making others work. It makes such a difference to the rest of the week when you tithe a day out of the week to focus on the Lord rather than worldly pleasures.
Such good ideas! Thanks for pointing out making others work on Sunday.
great video!!!!

I feel very blessed right now in my life, and that God has answered my prayers. What can I do to thank God for the blessings He gives me?
UnratedAwesomeness SAY THANK YOU FATHER FOR HEARING MY PRayer. Just like Jesus did. Thank him in the name of our Lord and be good to Others just like God is good to you.
God bless you.
Help someone without, someone in need and you will be blessing His Name like he blessed you. "whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
#askfrmike do we all have a guardian angel?
- loved ones that have passed on - are they still with us and how can you tell?
- why do demons exist? And why are possessions a thing?
#AskFrMike what advice would you give someone who is struggling to see themselves as a daughter of God? I've struggled with feeling/believing He loves me for as long as I can remember. I feel like I've tried everything to change it, from asking God to show me His love, to talking with people at church, and more, but I'm still really struggling with it.
You might have mentioned that Mary is very, very much a (the) "Light bearer".(Hearkening to 'theotokos', of course.) So, that's further evidence that Mary "replaces" Lucifer -- in this way taking over his title, if that had anything to with the name of Lucifer.
I often thought about Question 2. Thank you Fr. Mike for your brilliant answer. Brought a tear to my eye in fact. Thank you.
#askfrmike Continuing on the question about working on Sundays, is it wrong for a student to put of homework until Sunday and rest on Saturday? Specifically if the work on Sunday isn't the only thing that you do, so you do enjoy some leisure as well.
Father Mike...I love your videos, but I would love to share them with my family, I would ask you to subtitle them in spanish, it'll be awasome!
Thank you. I agree with you 100%. If God follows Jesus, how far?
Ok but I can’t be the only one highly amused with Fr.Mikes God voice.
I had to share this.
In Genesis chapter 2 verse 3 it says that God blessed the 7th day and made it holy. After the Great Flood, when people again began to be wicked they fell away from Sabbath observance (which God ordained to be Saturday, not Sunday) so God said to Moses to REMEMBER the Sabbath day and to keep it Holy. The Ten Commandments were not the original decree for resting. They were a reminder. All respect to you Father, I just had to point it out.
CASEY KEELEY We are no longer under Mosaic Law.
Jesus Himself said "I have not come to abolish the teaching (meaning the 'mosaic law' as you say), but to fulfill it" Jesus followed mosaic law, so what right do we have to not do it ourselves? I intend no disrepect by my comment, I was merely pointing out that the day of rest was established in Genesis and not in the Ten Commandments. I am not being a troll.
Maritza Perrault
great video...I have a question regarding apostolic succession. as far as I know, Paul was a priest but yesterday, Tuesday 26, I heard that he pointed timothy and Titus as bishops...what would be a good reconciling answer to my question.

#ASKFRMIKE How should we pray the rosary/how do you pray the rosary?
#askfrmike
Are we allowed to go to different churches to see what it’s like, even if we go to Mass and receive communion that same Sunday too? If we didn’t receive communion one Sunday and went to a Protestant Church to see what it’s like, would it be a sin?
Keeping the sabbath is practical. Teaches you to discipline your mind
#askfrmike can you talk about the eastern Catholic Church and their relationship with the Holy See?
Father Mike One question I have is in the Bible Jesus said “Not the son nor the spirit know the hour, only the father.” I am born and raised Catholic but have been struggling with my faith for a few years. But the question is how can the God be the trinity but the trinity isn’t equal? How can one part know something the other three do not?
#askfrmike Are our private thoughts knowable to the devil?
NO. But as a perfect being (an angel), he is the best psychologist a best body reader. He knows. The way you look at stuff, the way you behave in certain situations, etc.
There is no so Devil.
Additionally, I would like to add that the devil has access to your memory bank. It means that any sin that you have committed in your life, the devil is able to know it and will try to take you down/destroy you with it.
@@timebank1949 that is true
Yes* That is why Priests have to prepare themselves before an Exorcism. He knows your fears, thoughts, and sins.... He will use these to his benefit.
JESUS became the ONE and ONLY with the LIGHT.
And that the replacement of Lucifer being Mary is really inspired.

#askfrmike What is your take on the charismatic movement in the church? Does the Holy Spirit give certain people the gift of tongues?
Stephieandcheech the charistmatic movement in the church is essential for the growth of it. Through it, we experience the raw presence of The Trinity. We cannot experience all of it - our human nature limits us. The gift of tongues, as well as other gift, are already given to us during confirmation- we just have to unwrap them with the Holy Spirit. Charismatic worship brings us so much closer to God.
@@aimyp9653 Nope. Charismatic worship is the result of focus on emotions and extatic experiences. It is absolutely not essential for any form of growth of the church.
Please do a detailed series of all the Pope's through history.
One of your best videos, thank you Father Mike
Did God want us in a brick and mortar church on Sunday's? Could it be the man with a collection plate that really wants us there?
