Monique Ocampo Do you ever pray from your heart? God doesn't want memorized super religious prayers. Prayer is a conversation or communication with God. He wants us to pray from our hearts and talk to him like we would talk to our earthly father. You can ask him about anything or vent out your feelings to him. You don't have to only pray out memorized bible verses to him. He wants a relationship, not a "religion".
Catholics do, of course, pray from the heart. In addition, praying liturgical prayer and devotional prayers have tremendous spiritual benefit. First, these prayers are either from Scripture, or from the greatest minds and souls who have ever walked the earth who have gone before us. They are theologically correct as well as spiritually rich. Thank you, Father Mike, for your excellent tips.
I pray best when I'm awake in the middle of the night (2-3am). I would called out his holy name and praise him. I would talk to him like a friend or I would tell him of my fear and failure. I sometimes complain to him about how hard life is.
I have no idea how your videos came in my suggestions list, but it must be for a reason because I definitely have come to a time in my life that I realized I need to reconnect with God and the Catholic church
Please REPENT and follow Jesus ONLY he is the way the truth and life no man goes to the father Except through him, not through a priest or a disciple or mary, THROUGH JESUS CHRIST hes the only one who died for your sins, and you people repay him by stepping on his blood and praying to mary? @@Low.Key.Music01 I started going to an Anglo-Catholic Church, despite all of those 'things' taught to me by protestants who went to no church at all. It takes a while to understand that we pray with Mary, we do not pray to her, nor do we pray 'to' statues. I have slowly had all those old 'protestant' notions demolished. Now I go to Roman Catholic churches, and I am beginning to feel the full richness of it. I told our priest that I had met and come from the same town as the new Archbishop of York, and suggested we should include him in our prayers. I've tried many churches and Catholicism is the best. It has so much depth to it, the buildings are beautiful, and they are open to walk into far more often than others.
Me too. I had tried numerous church hopping for years and none of them compares to Catholism. Catholic church has answered many important questions that other denominations failed to answer for me. Plus, when I was faced with a major life crisis a decade ago and contemplating suicide, I called other churches for counseling, none of them even gave me a minute to listen to me or offered to pray with me. It was a catholic priest who showed me compassion, counseled me with his wise words and prayed with me that offered great relief and changed my mind about taking my own life.
@@nenabunena Looked and attended many sects of Christianity; Pentecostal, protestant,Mormon and non Trinitarian. Then I looked into Hindu, Buddhist and Islam but not in depth. I committed to an hour of prayer 3 months ago, which for me was going from 0 to 60 (literally) and in three months my faith life has changed DRAMATICALLY! One of the best decisions I have ever made.
I started 15 minutes of prayer about 8 months ago, and my life changed more than I could imagine. Over the last month, I've been doing at least an hour a day, and it's amazing
Prayer reminds me of the struggle of htting the gym...showing up is hard, but once you get started you're so glad you did, and you leave feeling refreshed, wondering why you ever didn't want to go in the first place.
beautiful. I am devoted to the Rosary, and I truly suffer when my prayer life suffers. Satan is waiting to distract us at every opportunity. God bless you, Fr. Schmitz.
Well that is good news for me!! I pray one last time for that day every single night in bed. And probably 3-4 nights a week I fall asleep talking to god.
I do believe you have guardian Angel , because in psalm 91, "he shall give his angels charge over thee they shall bare thee up in their hands LEST thou dash thy foot against a stone" but I don't think they pray for you, they have their job and you have your job
My husband became Catholic 2 years ago this Easter. We started praying the rosary together every night (usually) before bed since a few weeks before his entrance into the Church. We use a booklet called praying the rosary without distraction and love it. We also belong to the rosary confraternity. I'm not trying to boast, truly. It took me 49 years to begin praying daily, not just at meals and I'm so glad we do it together. It's our thing. And our cat comes running from wherever she is in the house when she hears us praying and jumps on our bed to sit between us. When we have company over and it's about the time we normally pray, she starts meowing loudly, climbs on us and pesters us till we stop and pray the rosary. Strange but true.
Funny, I recently started RCIA classes. Right now, my prayers are anytime and anywhere.... it doesn't matter what when it hits me, it just does. Most of my day has been spent praying in between my chores & duties to my family. I hope it never stops, but do truly appreciate the advice & lessons you're teaching father!! Please keep them coming!

Be Clear what are u trying to prove with that? Praying the rosary is a good thing. The Bible doesn’t have to mention it in order for it to be good. Doesn’t reallly specifically say to watch religious videos and grow upon them, yet it’s still a good thing. Maybe not mandistory to do either one ? But definitely something you should do. I think doing it at least a few times in ur life could be obituary, maybe it is?
You said something that reached me. We can't be the Saints we're meant to be without prayer. I pray when I'm in dire need but I have never incorporated it into my daily life. I'm only taking on the load when I have burdens when I need but I don't deliver in my spirit the same dedication to God. I don't walk properly in God's path because We aren't in sync with each other. From this day forward to the End of my days I will make a time for Prayer. Thank you so much. It sounds hokey and corny... but really this did open my eyes. Like this was what I needed to hear.

As a retired 68 year old I have the luxury of time and each Lent as I add a habit to draw closer to God, I am blessed that I have the time to add that practice or prayer to my daily routine. Sometimes I can pray a bigger block of time, sometimes I need to babysit and need to break the blocks up into smaller cubes. With time the peace and joy of union with God has made my former ‘scheduled appointments’ something to eagerly anticipate and joyfully participate. It took time and it took perseverance but if you are faithful, God will multiply your time and as you show up you will see His face and feel His hugs. Now when He wakes me at 3 am to pray, it is a peaceful time that passes all understanding. I know that someone out there needs my prayer. Blessings to all who seek His face, not just His hands.
I always look forward to your videos Father Mike! My prayers always consist of gratitude. Gratitude for the blessings I am enjoying, for the ones to come and for all my needs being met. Even when I pray for a need, I pray as if it has already been met and I simply say, thank you!!!! God knows all I need before I do... I hope he is pleased with my prayers.
In between school lessons (I am homeschooled) I am doing one Ascension Presents video & prayer so it gives me a quick break which in turn keeps me focused and I get to do it myself in a quiet room throughout the day.
Someone who is recently converting to Catholicism; I am creating a shrine that has A framed picture of Jesus, Mary, Archangel Saint Micheal and the apostles creed, with a altar, crucifix 2 candles, and rosary. Reminds you to pray and gives you a space to do so. I pray the entire rosary, all decades each and every night. Use to take me an hour and a half now it takes me 20 minutes to pray the entire rosary and am reading the Baltimore catechisms, My Catholic Faith and the Catholic Bible. A lot to take in but I haven’t been this excited about something in awhile.
Thank you! Your message is wonderful and makes so much sense. I was raised in the Lutheran faith in a working class family. I don’t remember morning prayers but my parents never missed blessing our meals and nighttime prayers. It had the effect of restraining the encroachment of the dark. Then off to college where Life spun out of control. Not sure how or what caused my return to prayer about 6 months ago but it has been the best thing. I truly appreciate your comments and advice.

Family prayer time: before dinner 5 -6p Where: living room is best, but sometimes during a walk outside in our neighborhood, bedroom if baby is fussy. Also once a week vespers or adoration chapel as a family (before covid) What: Rosary, Litany, and seasonal prayers like consecrations to mary or st. joseph, or novenas, etc Why: God is the glue to our family. It fosters peace in our home, we fight less, we apologize sooner, and mostly, because we get to have time with our lord. We have witnessed many miracles thru prayer! Note: we didnt just start at this level. It's taken 10years to establish this routine. Start with 15min a day. Then build upon it. Our kids are 17, 8, 6, & 1.....they all hang in there some days better than others. It is our guaranteed family time each night.

Yes, praying the Rosary can focus your mind and Im able to sleep so much better. Im also one of the people that is always praying to God about something. Btw...being a night person is not a choice, there are medical issues that cause someone to sleep easily during the day and be up all night. Im one of those night people, but I do lay down at specific times and play my Rosary app and pray with it. Sometimes I fall asleep, sometimes I read a book, because sleep will not come. Sometimes I just reflect and enjoy the peaceful silence and trust me, most nights at 4am I am crying and praying out to God for sleep.
Great tips. I’m an easily distracted prayer. I go in my morning walks and pray the rosary and find my mind wandering to random things midway thru. I’m and constantly “scolding myself” to refocus. I enjoy praying the rosary. I found the tip on “why do I want to pray?” Very helpful. Most of the time it isn’t to ask God for help. Sometimes I pray just out of gratitude. Thank you for this video!

I pray best when I'm awake in the middle of the night (2-3am). I would called out his holy name and praise him. I would talk to him like a friend or I would tell him of my fear and failure. I sometimes complain to him about how hard life is.
yen nguyen I am the same way. I always feel better after praying though. It is as if God knows I need to let things off my chest (pray).
Same with me, it's as if God is inviting me for a discussion and I always feel better afterwards.

Yes, me too if I wake up in the middle. I pray the whole rosary after that I get sound sleep. Praise the lord, thank you mumma mary
SERIOUSLY, "come out of her my people" revelation 18, the catholic church is a lie from satan, with added Roman traditions and cults, please REPENT and follow Jesus, and READ YOUR BIBLE
@@snb2186 I believe the Catholic Church is THE church, so I will not take your advice
He said that was a good idea, and added, 'and we can pray for his conversion'.

WHY??? Prove your beliefs with scripture. AND NOT OPINIONS.
I've tried many churches and Catholicism is the best. It has so much depth to it, the buildings are beautiful, and they are open to walk into far more often than others.
Peter PhotoVideos Dambiec you idiot ¥
how may religions and churches have you gone to?
The latter could not claim they had evidence of a death and resurrection like Jesus Christ. Christianity through the Catholic Church cannot be faulted.

I started 15 minutes of prayer about 8 months ago, and my life changed more than I could imagine. Over the last month, I've been doing at least an hour a day, and it's amazing
Thank you Father Mike. I honestly believe your videos are changing lives, one subscriber at a time.
I’m still figuring out how to pray. Pray for me and my family that I learn. I want to be able to teach my children. God willing 🙏🏽
Prayer reminds me of the struggle of htting the gym...showing up is hard, but once you get started you're so glad you did, and you leave feeling refreshed, wondering why you ever didn't want to go in the first place.

If you fall asleep during prayer. Cannon Law say's: Your Guardian Angle will finish them too.
Well that is good news for me!! I pray one last time for that day every single night in bed. And probably 3-4 nights a week I fall asleep talking to god.
Fr. Mike said in another video that this is not true.

Best. Ending. Ever.
Is that your cat in your pfp?
Now I have to pray that God sends more of you- a guide for the faithful.
Please keep them coming!
johnny bhai RCIA is a class that teaches those who want to convert about the Catholic Faith. If you are interested, go to a Catholic Church near you and ask about their RCIA program.
I think praying throughout the day is awesome and works well with having a set prayer time.

SHOW ME ONE PASSAGE IN the Bible THAT INSTRUCTS YOUR TO PRAY THE ROSARY -- JUST ONE!!!

I love praying while I drive, I just turn down my music and I either tell God about my day or if I have time I pray a rosary:)
I just paused your video and I prayed the Rosary, thanks for the heads up!
I am so grateful to you Father Schmitz! Thank you so much for keeping me on the path.
Im not christian anymore but I want to recomend videos to support a friend who is now born again and didnt grow up with Christian rituals at ALL. This video also turned out to be a great guide for starting literally any good habit in life.
Family prayer time: before dinner 5 -6p
Where: living room is best, but sometimes during a walk outside in our neighborhood, bedroom if baby is fussy. Also once a week vespers or adoration chapel as a family (before covid)
What: Rosary, Litany, and seasonal prayers like consecrations to mary or st. joseph, or novenas, etc
Why: God is the glue to our family.

You said it much better than I did, Colleen; I hope your sleep has improved. Blessings.

I am surprised that you didn't mention the Daily Examen! From what I have heard, the Daily Examen was developed in order to address this problem of how difficult it can be for busy people to pray. It has helped my life immensely. :)

ohh. Good question. maybe ask a priest or minister n your church. I am saying this because fr. Mike never replies.
May the Lord help you. :)
Eddie Hinote I was raised Protestant and fell away. Recently, I've felt God's call.
I asked GOD to reveal the truth about Catholicism to me, then opened the Bible at a random spot. I immediately saw -"they are God's people. He made them His children and revealed His Glory to them. He made His covenants with them and gave them the law. they have the true worship. they have received God's promises. they are descended from the famous Hebrew ancestors and Christ as a human being belongs to their race. May God who rules over all be praised forever! Amen.
You could've knocked me over with a feather. this was after going to a Catholic Church for Mass. I decided to go after much thought..years..I went because of what Jesus said about the rock plus the Catholic Church is being denigrated so badly, which would NEVER happen were they not real and true.. seems pretty basic to me. And since, I've been getting harassed, really badly. Though I have never been closer to God.
I hope to take the Rite of Initiation and be baptised, soon.
Paul D Clifford Congratulations!! You have a beautiful testimony! Did you end up getting baptized?
I'm a Catholic.I always try to make time for prayers on a daily basis in the morning. Then , suddenly I began praying in the afternoon.I listen to Mass on UA-cam.After that, the Rosary and family prayers. Before I sleep a short night prayer.
