People really don't know beauty until they experience and witness someone accepting and embracing their passion, and their passion for life.
I’m absolutely fascinated with the switching between scream techniques and singing. Especially the quick switching, one or two word phases of one and then the other, always blows my mind. I wish I could figure out how people do it. I’ve watched a lot of tutorials and even had someone try to teach me and I feel so awkward and can’t seem to get it. As someone who’s sung music my whole life I just love the techniques so much!
I also love that kind of singing. Lauren is one the best singers who can do it. And... when she sings with clean voice you hear wide range and belting in high register. I always complain about weak, flat, without range clean voices of other clean/growl singers. They are sooo boring when they sing so they are known most for growling part.
I don't know how it was taught to you, but I might be able to help.
I don't sing, but I voice act and often perform distress ranges. Your natural voice is in your mouth and throat; screams and "richer" sounds come from the core. To sustain screams and other harder sounds, it's best to contract your abdominal muscles and kind of shove the sound into your chest and stomach. With enough practice, it will become automatic to use that part of your body for a scream. Relaxing those muscles will then let the voice go back up into your throat and mouth.
Your body is an instrument in itself; each muscle and section can produce a different sound, and it's through learning how to "tune" each part that you can create more intricate and complicated sounds.
For me, I can easily switch between a scream and my natural voice now; it only took me a few weeks of really trying to feel the sounds and piece apart my body to get where I am now.
