- Bryan Hayes, Jamie McLennan and Frank Corrado are joined by TSN Hockey analyst Mike Johnson to discuss the Ottawa Senators securing land for a new arena, the expectation for the Ottawa Senators and Josh Norris, Jake McCabe potential extension in Toronto, can the Maple Leafs play a North-South style of game, William Nylander starting the season at centre and the likelihood of Alex Ovechkin passing Wayne Gretzky for the all-time goal scoring record this season. They are also joined by LA Times writer Bill Shaikin to discuss whether or not Shohei Ohtani’s hitting would drop off if he was pitching, should he pitch again and if he doesn’t is he still worth the contract, was last night’s game the greatest ever, Ohtani finally playing in the playoffs and more. The boys also touch on Alex Nylander choosing an AHL contract with the Toronto Marlies over NHL deals with other teams and more.
You still asking this question is hilarious 😂 he’s gonna play till he does it
How could anyone think that he has come this far and would not keep playing till the goal is reached. He isn't going anywhere till he gets the record.
Ovechin probably going to score 25 this year if he going beyond that it would be amazing for is age
19:42 The Ovechkin talk starts.
youre a hero
Thanks, glad I missed the first 19 minutes ... bahahaha
Wayne Gretzky played 1487 regular season games in 20 seasons in the NHL, but he scored his final goal, goal number 894, in game number 1477. Alex Ovechkin will have to score goal number 894 in game number 1476 or earlier, to say he did it quicker than Wayne Gretzky. Alex Ovechkin has played 1426 games. Subtract 1426 from game number 1477, in which Wayne Gretzky scored his last goal, goal number 894, and you get 51 games. Alex Ovechkin has 853 goals. 894 goals minus 853 goals equals 41 goals. Alex Ovechkin has to score 41 goals in 51 games to tie Wayne Gretzky, or score 41 goals in 50 games or less, to say he did it quicker than Wayne Gretzky did it.
He was scoring at a 50+ goal pace for the second half.
He's still getting 9 million for a couple years. He's not gunna retire anytime soon
but he will play till he is 60 look at Patrick Marleau now nobody cares it is Gordon Howes record SO BE IT AS IT SEEMS
