Michelle, long time follower and former MD teacher now in the south it is a joy to see your journey from the Eastern shore to Texas! I love to see that smile and love for teaching back!! Happy for you!!
Michelle, you have not need to doubt your observation will go just fine. You are an excellent teacher and that is seen just through your help to us as teachers. Thank you for all you do.
Oh my god! I was the same way…over thinker, wanted to be observed in the mornings between Tues and Thursday and wanted it done in October. Retired now but sometimes i think October/Observation and have a bit of a panic attack and then remember I am retired. Good luck to you have a great year.
Michelle, I hope and pray that you are getting better. I am happy that you are teaching in a school who acts like they want you teaching there amongst them and I hope that this continues on going forward. Even with Halloween excitement in the air, here you are handling it all like a champ. Keep it up. - Dwight
Happy Saturday to you, Michelle! You were so thoughtful about preparing for your observation. I feel like most teachers get a little nervous about observations, even when we have prepared the best we can. I am so happy that yours went well and that you had the opportunity to enjoy the Trunk or Treat with a fun costume. Have a wonderful week ahead! 💜
I have my observation next week!! I teach 5th grade Math and like you I’m an over thinker and also always schedule my observation for the mornings. Kids are more alert and it’s lets get it over with set of mind for me.. Wish me luck! Love your lizard/ dragon costume
Michelle, would you be willing to share a blank copy of your slides? I teach 8th grade Pre-algebra and Algebra and am typically a slides gurly myself, but i came back into teaching after 4 years of staying home with my boys and feel like a brand new teacher again with not enough time to even begin making my own slides.
I know teachers today use technology as you do for teaching lessons. What are the backup plans you have for IF the technology is not working (Wi-Fi out) tech glitch, etc. I was teaching late 80's through 2013 and technology began to be used more and more but in first grade we did not rely solely on it, and no one taught by slides yet.
I was a high school nurse and the principal did my observation. Not being a nurse, he had NO idea what I really did. I had a 2 hour observation. I gave scheduled meds, a tube feeding, an assessment on a student who was caught smoking marijuana and a 911 call on a staff member. He asked if this was normal and his secretary, who was walking by, answered “Yes! We are lucky to have her so give her a good score!”
I know what mints you mean. The old ladies at church used to pass them out. I've used them, too. They're often called butter mints because they melt in your mouth. It's probably better to use that term in the times we're living in. " Puffy" has a negative connotation.
Retired teacher here. Not missing obervations, for sure! Glad your lesson went well. I would expect nothing less from you.😊Question: What is the point of not having them solve the entire problem? (Why did you have them go and do one step only of different problems)?Just trying to understand your thinking, especially since I know that you are an outstanding teacher. So nice to leave them personal notes (Great idea to put a positive spin on the call-outs for the one student!😂). Love the costume 😊. Hope you feel better, soon.
Hello! I have not seen any update about the observation but I believe you it went well. Just like mine for ELA. Do you have copies of the CLASS CHEERS? If you are willing to share, please let know how I can get a copy. I may have one for to add as well.
I am so jealous, I am considered "professional" which means veteran teacher. I have to be observed twice during the year one announced and one unannounced. Plus at least 2 walk throughs.

That's crazy you can choose your observation. I'm in South florida, they happen without notice.

I had my observation last week as well. I was sick as well, my voice was a bit off too. I completely understand!

I love seeing other schools use Kagan!! It’s not something I see a lot on social media!
Where did you get your class cheer posters? I love them.

You sound like me! I did a week of conferences, some with no voice at all! Feel better! ☺️
Michelle, would love to know the size of your font and spacing between the lines. Looks stunning ❤
🎉🎉🎉 thanks for sharing!
Love the cheer posters. Can you perhaps add them to your store or as a freebie somewhere to add our own onto them?
I love your slides and lesson plan format. Is there anywhere I can get a template of those?

I feel has a student perspective good to learn one at a time. Not learning all at once.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I’m loling that the old Michelle would have reprinted the slide that cut off a little bit. I’m here for the practical teacher content!
Do you have your cheers on your TPT?
How long was your lesson, it seemed like a lot of components
