I’m so glad to see you back in the classroom! I’m a fifth grade teacher in FL and love your positivity and realness. I get so many new and fresh ideas from your videos.
Dear Michelle, I always enjoy seeing an update of your classroom, routines, and personal life. Your dress is both professional and adorable, but the pockets really make it fantastic! I hope you and your team teachers had wonderful birthdays and continue celebrating throughout the month. I loved the most recent Teaching to the TOP podcast. You and Bridget give such realistic and timely advice. Thanks for being you! 💜
Michelle, this week I received so many compliments on 2 of your resources. Your P/T Conference forms and your Rotation Slides. When asked I said, Nothing new under the sun! "These are from Michelle at Pocketful of Primary." Your hard work helps teachers shine!
This put a smile on my face! Your students don’t seem to miss a beat! Gotta love their creativity in anything they do! You must be having fun and your students are feeding off the fun!
As a middle school science teacher, I love your sentences starters for CER. It makes it so much easier to improve their vocabulary when writing CER when they have practice this version at the Elementary level.
That last part has me in tears. I taught first grade for two years and at the end of last school year my district had budget cuts and I was let go. I miss all of that. I truly miss being in the classroom someday with a full group of kiddos.
I felt that coffee spill. Spilled mine this week AND broke my cup. So I had to get a new one yesterday. But it's okay. I hope you feel better soon! That sounds awful. I get some, but not that level. I had a professor in college like you who got those all the time, and still taught because she had them so often that she couldn't take off. Glad your students were like my class was to our professor and treated you kindly. Also, it's teachers like you who make this millennial feel like, although we may make mistakes, we're doing a lot better by our students. Keep it up! And happy anniversary to you and Billy! Yay!
I do the same mixture activity and I will usually just use water on an “evaporation tray” with one of the cups to separate the salt. Students get to observe it over a couple days but we don’t have to spend time class time having all groups set it up.
I really love your optimism! If I had a Monday like yours, I would’ve gone home early for the day lol. However, watching you reminds me to stay positive (and get organized)! Keep being amazing!
Migraines are the worst. I typically get them during concerts (k-5 music teacher here) The worst part is I have a 40 minute drive and the headlights make things so much worse. Glad to hear that your migraines are not nearly as bad as when you were in college. And I'm glad you were able to find glimmers in your day!
Love the creativity of this lesson. And noticed Wegmans salt. I live in Rochester, NY- where Wegmans was founded and lived around the corner from Ward's Science. You must've lived or visited somewhere near NY or the east coast:)
Hi! Love the dress! You spilled the coffee just before telling us about it. I don't see it on your amazon pages. Could you give us the name or a link please?
As a team teacher, is it possible your team teacher (language arts & Social Studies) would allow how she runs her class from her angle. I would appreciate it. If she doesn't want to go on camera, can she just share some tricks of the trade like reading groups (if she has it), Social Studies, grammar etc. Thank you. 😊
I don’t know how you pushed through. I get the auras with migraines as well. It ends up wiping me out for the rest of the day and a little the next day. I take magnesium every day, and it has mostly helped. I take another tone when it hits. Everyone is different with that though. Thats just my thing that I feel like helps me. Thank you for sharing. I always learn something every time I watch your videos. 😊
Speaking of paper towels: one of the things my team teachers and I did that was life changing was ask for one roll of paper towels on student supply lists (if you have control over that).
Would love to see an in-depth video on your interactive word wall! I am interested in incorporating one for my 5th grade classroom, specifically in science. 😊 Thank you!
I suffer with migraine- take Sumatriptan . I get one a month. I don’t get visuals, just pain left side head. Sometimes it returns for 3 days other times it just goes. I’ve ordered a dress from Amazon. You have a fantastic relationship with your students!
I'm on Sumatriptan too. On its own, not too effective for me. However, my neurologist paired it with Ponstan and paracetamol and it works every time! Sumatriptan and ponstan, taken together, followed by 1000mg of paracetamol (I find the soluble kind best), around an hour later. It's seems like a lot but is worth it for me to avoid that kind of pain. Hope that helps ❤ @@PocketfulofPrimary
Queen Michelle, 1.I will pray for your healing and that these migraines will no longer happen again. 2. Looking good in that dress. 3. What is a switch teacher? 4. This is proof that school does not always have to be so stressful on students. Teachers need to be willing to try things that they'd never thought that they'd try or that they think is inappropriate but is actually not. It's good to see such a young futuristic teacher get it. - Dwight
@@Jessica-lp1uf Oh, I'm so sorry that prayers are that inappropriate to you. If you keep on making such accusations against me I will show you what an inappropriate comment truly is.
@@djthereplay what’s inappropriate Is commenting about what a woman is wearing who you don’t know. Secondly, because you seem to like saying inappropriate things to women you don’t know, I’ve reported your comment.
That sounds like the migraines I used to get. I always knew I was getting one because of the blind spot that gradually got bigger. Then I got the multicoloured quivering outline. Lovely (I don't think)!
I would love the CER labels!!! Can you share with me? Also, you did a unit on States of Matter, I did too. For my Do Now, Thursday / Friday was Is Peanut Butter a liquid or a solid? The class discussion was wonderful to listen their reasoning!, Then I showed them a video about the airport that explains why.
My birthday is October 11th! I never knew your bday was so close to mine 😍 super cool! I hope you enjoyed your bday🎉 mine was spent in a hurricane this year 😂😅
Wow, you have Wegmans salt all the way in Texas? Or did you have it from when you lived in Maryland? Wegmans was started in my hometown. It took them almost 20 years for them to follow me to the DMV. 😅
Getting your planning time taken away so often sounds terrible! My planning time is protected by my contract. Do you not have a required amount of minutes that they have to provide to you?

What can teachers do so that planning time isn’t taken away during school day? We’re supposed to get 45minutes per day in Texas.

Here in the UK instead of CER we use P.E.E. - Point, Evidence, Explain.!
