I have seen many people put the Stanley straw covers onto their Apple pencil to hold the cap. This helpful for the for older style preventing cap from getting lost, fall off in a bag etc.
You’ve got awesome classroom community/pride! Those cheers are hilarious!! I used to do a similar thing in first grade with a “Beary Important Person” who we got to learn about and shower with compliments, sing my made up song to, and we put family pictures in a special place on the wall. They also got to keep a teddy bear at their desk for that day ❤️ I think you should still do Emerson Emmys, it’s genius.
Michelle, thank you for some really great behavior management ideas. I used to do the VIP system, but the kiddos I have this year may enjoy something along the lines of gold and glitter. So happy to hear that you are happy back in the classroom. Continue to enjoy your students. They are very lucky to have you.
Great video! I remember your classroom transformations and interactive lessons and figured that your classroom management has to be great! I am excited to see how I can incorporate this into my class
I loved this video! It was so inspiring to listen to all of your behavior management ideas. Thank you so much for sharing and continuing to Vlog your back to the classroom adventures. I’ve been following you for a long time and I can tell how happy you truly are! Also, I am very interested in your meal prep video. I also meal prep on Sundays so any new ideas are always welcome. I’m also so happy for you and Bridget. I think it’s great that you all are balancing your time and doing what’s best for the both of you (Podcast wise). Thanks again for all the time you put into your videos. We love watching them!
Michelle, I love this video! You gave so many creative classroom management systems. I got some new ideas from you that I want to try next week with my class. It was fun to see the similarities between your school and mine. We also have a house system, so I made a lot of connections in this video. Thanks for all you do! 💜
I agree with everything you said! Classroom management is so much more than behavior. I spend the month of September training my students to follow my systems. Because I have a routine and systems I seldom have behavior issues. To answer your question. YES for a meal prep video! Can’t wait to hear about your powerlifting meet. 🎉
I love your videos. I love when you show like your classroom set up and like in general like anything with classes because I love watching these videos and also Stanley topper, but some of them you can use on regular straws. Depends on which one try to use that on a straw because it may work or may not.
Well Michelle, 1. I see the beautiful looking Queen Teacher peaking back out and I kind of need it in such times after I have had an aunt die through cancer and to top it off, learning about a few of hose who I have looked up to and enjoyed watching on television growing up passing away and a few other things. There comes those moments in my life when I need positive pants the size of Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom Park and seeing you looking so beautiful in your classroom become those "positive pants" for me. 2. I remember when you used to use a clip chart in conjunction with Class Dojo and also did the Teacher vs. Class Points "The Scoreboard". Today you are implementing more of the things that you have been needing all along because when you open yourself to intel from students you wind up gaining more of those "unseen" tools in your "inner" teacher toolbox. However it also must come with parental and school adult peer and admin support. Even with what you are having to do as a teacher I am proud of you for the growth that you have been making in opening yourself up and not letting whatever doesn't work be what ruins you as a teacher because to me what should be a decider of your success as a teacher should be if your students leave you loving you at the end of the school year. Have an awesome school year. - Dwight
All you are doing for behavior management tells me you have got everything right! The golden Emerson is absolutely priceless. The rock candy is a great touch. Old school candy is the way to go! Getting to know your students on a personal level will help you with behavior issues!!
I need advice about behavior, how to react snd using tone. Have some strong personalities in my classroom. I'm doing positive, firm voice, and a signal. I need help?!
I have been following you since the pandemic and am still learning great ideas for my class. Keep up your great work. You clearly have a heart and soul for teaching.I also have a Star Jar I just started using this year.
My high school had a house system. It wasn't just a random by student basis, but kind of by home room. There were four houses, and if a student was in your homeroom, there was a chance you'd have most or some other classes with them. So you could make friends easily. I don't remember it being really talked about past my freshman year, so I don't know if it really went on past that year, but I wanted to say my school also had a house system! And it wasn't like a behavior related thing, it seemed like just a way to assign students to classes.
loved the vlog! you should do a vlog about your competition, would love to see that! and the meal prep as well! Oh man, these seems to be such great ideas, wish i could use them in my classroom
The House System idea came from Harry Potter and the UK school systems, but I like to think of the RCA house system as a fraternity/ soriorty. We use the House System at our school and we love how inclusive it is!
I teach in your former district in MD! It's only my second year here, but I like it so far! We do RCA Houses at my school too. I have also used the star jar reward system. I already have an idea for individual rewards this year, but haven't decided on a whole class incentive yet. Since I already have a star jar, maybe I'll bring that back again. Thanks for the inspiration! You always have great ideas!
I loveee your videos and learn a lot from you! I am an ESL teacher in High school but really believe many good practices at elementary level get forgotten in secondary level, and it is not good! Secondary level classes can benefit a lot from good pracrices, organization, community building strategies etc that you share with us! Thanksss a million to refresh my repertoire! I wish you were in my team so we could have a coffee together after school :-)
I love your videos and s gla you're back!!!! I have gotten so many great ideas from watching you. Could youpossibly do a more detail video on the "Morning Meeting" up mentioned. I'm struggling with implementing one. If possible could you link the cute black and white dress you are wearing in the video? Thank you. Glad to see you s happy!!! Alicia fom CT
Thank you for this video. I am a new 4th grade teacher and your videos have really help me in the classroom and become organized. I do have a question. What type of organized system do you use to keep students graded papers for the different blocks? I am struggling trying to find a system that works for keeping graded papers and students demographic sheets.
Thank you for sharing a wealth of engaging strategies for building classroom community and classroom management! Do you offer the "All About Me" slides in your TPT Store?
Great video! I have a class of 4-11 year olds (Sunday school) and a small budget! What would be anyone's recommendation for behaviour management/reward systems?
Warm fuzzies always killed it with the littles. If they do a good job the warm fuzzy (puff ball) would go in the jar. When the jar gets 10 they get to have free play/candy/ pick the reward.
Fantastic things are happening in your classroom! Way to make it happen, Michelle!! Your videos are so informative and inspiring❣️ Thank you. Have a great weekend.
Fyi last year i had kids number their paper to show work on all problems. Ireadys math diagnostic has 99 PROBLEMS!!!! I hate iready and i feel like thats abusive.
In my opinion, iReady is not an accurate assessment of students' abilities. There are always those who want to finish first and those who press any keys to get it over with. It's a snapshot of a student's knowledge on the day it is taken.
I’m definitely trying the trophy and Star Jar! Since my last name starts with a G I’m going to do the “Weekly GOAT” (Greatest of All Time) 🤣 I also love the clipboard for behavior tracking and lunch bunch. Great ideas as always! I feel like these things will make a huge and positive difference in my classroom! 🩷

I am so glad to see you are happy to be back. Enjoy your 2024-2025 school year!🙏🏽❤️
Everything thing you are doing is great. I’m sure the students will love it and respond positively. Have a great year back!
Your new classroom sounds like so much fun with so much learning happening. Thank you for sharing so much positivity.

Great episode! Our teaching styles seem very similar. It’s great to learn more positive ways to manage and grow a classroom family!❤
Wow... You're an amazing teacher. You get a 🏆 May God continue to bless you in all your endeavors. Be Blessed.
I look forward to these every week ! I love this series❤️

Could you please share about what reward options you have for the whole class? Thank you

What a beautiful episode! Awesome ideas. Our Education system needs to up its game like this. Our future depends on it!

I'm always down for a meal prep vid!
Love the star jar! I JUST BOUGHT ONE! Can you tell me what is the font of your rewards posters. Thank you!

I love the cheers! My kids are getting tired of the ones we do and honestly so am I! lol Is there any way I can get a copy of those cheers??

Great ideas!
Love this! House systems are very normal all over the UK… is it not very common in the US?
Not at all. I'm sure many schools who use it now is because of the influence of Harry Potter.
How do you manage time for so many things?
Thank you for sharing a wealth of engaging strategies for building classroom community and classroom management! Do you offer the "All About Me" slides in your TPT Store?
Love your videos! Blessings.
Can you make a video on how you grade your students? For example, in Portugal we grade behaviour (with a percentage), is that something you also do?
I want you as a teacher! Love your joy! Would you ever do a video or what you’ve noticed regarding the difference in teaching in TX vs MD?🫶🍎
how is the 2024 and 2025 school year going how does your school do the morning announcements on the IFP board
Do u have videos for teaching math or other textbooks??
I am very interested in seeing your SEL slides.
Will you be doing a week work in my life?
Please show meal prep:) TKS!

yes to the meal prep video!
My school has a rodeo theme going this school year. I purchased those cowboy straw cover for my team. They have been ogled quite a bit. 😃
Is that a Renaissance cup??
Fyi last year i had kids number their paper to show work on all problems. Ireadys math diagnostic has 99 PROBLEMS!!!! I hate iready and i feel like thats abusive.
why do you hate iready? just curious. my school uses it, also. but im still pretty new to teaching. havent formed my opinion about it yet.

I don't like zucchini in my food as an ingredient 😅
