I'm really enjoying this series, Eric. I started my whiskey journey with Irish and then moved on to Scotch and Bourbon. Your series has encouraged me to get back to Irish. Sláinte!
I think I need to pick this up. It is very affordable and sounded good with lots of cut apple on the nose, lots of pear in the palate with some tropical fruits wrapped in vanilla. Thanks for the review.
Great sipping whiskey. Easy to drink, perfect for beginners without being too boring for more experienced whiskey drinkers.'I can't stand Kilbeggan personally on the other hand though. I get nothing but weak acetone from it.
I pulled this out of my cabinet and sipped on it while watching this video. Absolutely spot on. 👌 I was getting more apple than pear, but whatever I like this whiskey quite a lot. ..although. I'm not sure I'd spend the money on it again 🤷 I think I'll try kilbeggan, on your recommendation. Thanks 🤘
First time watching your take and I really enjoyed it. Refreshing to see you don't have to be a tattooed, bearded, edgy hipster with a 120 dollar haircut with grey dye streaked in then shaved tight at another 50 bucks to tell me if a whiskey is good enough to be considered worth the asking price. Cheers. Subscribed.
Nice presentation. Tyrconnell is one of the Irish names for Donegal (where i was born) and is pronounced "Cheerconnell" not "Tyreconnell" (just saying).
I’m glad folks enjoy this spirit, but it is, the worst spirit at that price point I have bought. It is rubbing alcohol to my nose. Sipped it over the course of 30 minutes, saturating my palate, coming back to it later, trying sipping coffee between sips, trying sipping other whiskeys between sips, coming back to it, and I get offensive rubbing alcohol notes which overpower other notes. I enjoyed finding the pear and apple notes finally, but it was like finding - how do I say this - a couple flakes of gold in the pan after a day’s work. Just not worth it at all. Thanks for doing the review! 😃 I enjoy your channel!
Have you done one on Jamieson yet .I've tried a lot including a Japanese but for the sheer taste n the craic off it Jamieson beats anything Ive drank including glen morangie scotch .
Good question! I have wondered that myself. I think Scotch whisky use to be more like that but they changed with the times and consumer demands. Perhaps Ireland just has not caught up.... YET. I do have a Connemara Cask Strength that I will be reviewing soon.
It was different twenty plus years ago, it was better. It's still good but it used to be superb, lighter, finer, more delicate... and a lot cheaper too. I bought a lot of it, such a deal!
Tyrconnell = Quality every time I have a dram of any expression of it... Awesome whiskey!

I have the Tyrconnell 16yo and I absolutely love it.

It's one of my favourite brands of single malts period. The 16 ex bourbon, 15 Madeira, 10 Madeira and that 16 Oloroso and Moscatel are all stunners.
This is only 39 where I live. I have their 10 single malt sherry cask and I love it

I know this video is old but I got this for $32 after tax. Feel like thats a steal for a single malt.
Your score is solid. I found it to be a fine whisky for the price but I doubt I will replace the bottle I presently have...if I finish it.

Love your channel and your reviews. I have a question, why are so many Irish Whiskeys at 40 or 43% abv.? Is there a reason other than $?

@@ErikWaitWhiskyStudies I have had the West Cork Cask Strength @ 62% ABV and it was an amazing dram! I drank that bottle a bit too quickly.
I just got this new 43% version for €19.99....
