I don't understand the "dislikes" on anyone's tutorial video. What is there not to like? I ask that as a serious question. This is your style, your personal work, if someone doesn't like it, move along. I just don't understand why someone would unlike it. I thank you for your tutorials. I wouldn't even know where to start if people like you didn't offer these how-to videos. I can develop my own style later, but I have to start somewhere, and I'm thankful that people like you are willing to offer this help. I'm inspired by what appears to be the ease of water colors.
I'm a 67 year-old retiree, who has just rediscovered my creative art side (after 20 years and raising a family). I love your work with the simplicity and beauty in your technique! Both watercolors and Pen & Ink are both my favorite mediums (also Procreate) to work with. I believe I could combine these techniques to create bookmarks, greeting cards, tags, oracle decks, and so on--the sky is the limit! Thank you for this great video!♥
I have been remiss in not thanking you for saving part of my mind through a difficult few years. You have graced me by the serenity of both the sight of you doing your art, and the sound of your teaching and explaining how to do what you do. Which gave me the little bump I needed to create a space in my life to create and restore balance, give a gift to myself of serenity. I was in a very bad place emotionally…..this is my therapy and medicine. So that I am able for the rest of the day deal with life’s demands as a decent and caring person. Thank you so very much. You and what you do mean quite a bit to me.
Just found this video now. I am in awe of your work. I have just started doing some watercolour painting now at the age of 70 and today tried your flowers from one of your videos. (It was one with easy flowers) I was so surprised that I could paint them. Thank you so much. You cannot believe how happy you have made this old lady, especially with all the stress over the last year. I live in South Africa so can't get all the pens you mention but will do my best with what I have. I am so excited with all the videos I have to watch of yours now.
I agree with how helpful this video is. I am 78 and am returning to watercolor after many years. I’ve learned that I love using a flat brush. There’s something very liberating about this teacher. Thank you CeeCee.
@@gmax758 I am 72,and so excited to add watercolor painting to my well of creative pursuits. I am living my best life ever with time to do what delights and brings me joy. Thank you for these lovely and instructional videos that give me the inspiration to create. You are a wonderful teacher and I thank you for sharing your gift of watercolor painting. Much gratitude!
I love this style of loose abstract florals. The technique is so pure, so simple. The result is astounding! I liked all the final result results. Each one created subtle differences in the final painting/bookmark. Thanks! ❤😊
Yes, I still read books, and so to my friends. They love getting bookmarks and yours are a great inspiration. Also, sometimes I cut out book quotes (Google book quotes), and glued them onto the back. Things like “reading to the mind is like exercise to the body“ thank you ceecee!
Oh my gracious! Lindsay the frugal crafter taught me I could draw and paint, Angela Fehr taught me to loosen up and I have experimented and searched and here you are! Here I am and I feel amazed at what you showed me that I can do. I did and can't wait to share these lovely bookmarks. I used some 'Honey shimmer colors because I am into sparkle (subtle) and it takes a while long to dry. I am in awe of you and all the other ever giving artists on UA-cam. Like me with my Jewelry making, no one does your art quite like you so don't be afraid to share. I humbly thank you, La Jeanne.
I love watching you. I know I overthink and try to be too literal with everything I try to paint. I am new to watercolor and your creative style really helps me to see that loosening up and not being a perfectionist will actually help me to open up to discover and enjoy being creative. Bookmarks are great. I still read books too! In this tutorial, I liked the white guache ones best, but I do enjoy your doodles! So fun!
“Better late than never”. I love books & I collect a few bookmarks. Thanks for the video. Watercolor has been a favorite pass time bringing my imagination to light. All your bookmarks were great for different reasons, the doodling spoke to me.🌺🌼🌸📚✍️
All of the bookmarks are beautiful and I prefer the doodled bits! Your presentation style is equally wonderful. It is cheerful, friendly and calm. I love listening to you talk while you paint!
I really liked how the painting grows, with layers of watercolor. It really comes alive with the doodles ! I Like the gel pens added to the picture. It makes everything pop ! It's fun and you really can't make a mistake. Thank You !
I love them both equally. You made them look so easy, easy enough for a beginner so I'll give them a try! They will be perfect for a friend who is an avid book reader. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
so relaxing tp watch and listen to you.....and inspiring....my favorite? The doodled ones....but then....they are all pretty. Yes....I still read books....what I love....is when I pick up an old book to read and come across a bookmark I had painted years ago!
Love this!! Both color palettes were beautiful. I think I prefer the non-doodled ones for their simplicity but the others are so pretty, too. Thank you for another great video!
Wow Catherine!!! This is amongst my favourite YT vids. I play it over & over because you make gorgeous art that your kind & patient tutorials make it easy to follow & practice with. A huge THANK YOU:)!!!
I like the doodled ones best! Also, I think they look awesome laid out next to each other with the white background around each! Actually, instead of bookmarks, you could cut the painting and glue them up like that, maybe with some different widths of cut-outs. Reminds me of split panel quilts!
I would never have believed that I could use my cheap Bee paper and get it so wet and it did not buckle. I was thinking it would not work because at first the paper did look very wavy while it was wet, but as it dried with the tape still on, it turned out perfectly flat. Thank you soooo much for this great and easy way to get amazing results.
Really nice technique to "underpaint" then doodle in black. Very effective. I'm going to make some of these for my daughter who is about to go off to university (lots of books) ! Thank you for the inspiration : )
These look like fun to make! I like the non-doodled ones the best, but the doodled have a touch of whimsey to them that I enjoy. I'll give these a try!
I added my comment BEFORE I watched the doodling. I LOVE the doodling so much. I am self taught and have also made a bunch of bookmarks from “ failed” paintings but nothing to compare with yours. Thank you so much for all your wonderful ideas!
Love this technique! As soon as I put my sewing machine up I'm breaking out the watercolors! Both ways are beautiful, the doodled ones look like the pen and ink style. For me, I like the undoodled ones better and I think you are of the same mind.
Love your paintings.....I feel inspired to give it a try....I am a card maker....but these are sooooo pretty....love the way you trimmed them to be bookmarks and then showed them on a white background with spacing!!!!! thank you for the inspiration!!!!!!
I am completely new to your yt channel here, and wanted to thank you for an idea that spawned a really lovely painting! You were misting your paper, using a small flat brush to create flowers. It was so pretty, I set up my painting area to recreate yours. As it is with ALL artists, we can never ever paint or have a final piece like the original artist! But! What DID happen was very cool! I misted my Bee 100% cotton 8x10ish spiral notebook on one page. Feeling puckish, I grabbed a few tins of Prima watercolors. And the final result was BEAUTIFUL. (my husband's opinion). I accidentally created a water scene resplendent with an usual baby blue clouded sky, fall trees, sloped grass hill, and a pond/creek area. Then I walked away. And my wc fairies stopped by and finished it. When I returned 2 hours later, I was astonished. So thank you very much CeeCee, as you helped me to add a new way to paint to put into my painting repertoire! And while I was unable to create your water drop flowers, I did a few more paintings in my new style (borrowed from you!), and love what's happened for me. I've not felt successful for some months, and this made me feel like a watercolorist again! :)
I absolutely love the doodling over the water color, rather than drawing with the permanent pen and then adding the watercolor. I love it because it is truly led by your intuition. Love your work, it's right up my alley.
I've never heard of wetting the back first to prevent warping. Genius! Thank you, not only for the tips, but for sharing this amazing project, and your incredible talent! The bookmarks are gorgeous! And yes, I still read physical books, too. Nothing better! 💜
I love both but prefer the doodled ones. A very inspiring tutorial indeed. Hopefully when I try my hand at this, I'll get a similar amazing result. Thanks.
I enjoyed the demo, especially the tips about working quickly and not over-thinking the process. I have often scribbled on blah paintings to add some emphasis and perk them up but didn't know until now that it is an acceptable technique, so thank you.
I love the close up view, but as a beginner I would love to also see the palette & water , or basically everything that is happening when your brush disappears on the right.
Beautiful. I used to use this technique with my grade 6 students...we used fine tipped sharpies...they were beautiful when all 30 finished paintings were displayed on the bulletin board. I will have to try it again. Thank you.
The very best video I’ve seen to date. Excellent presentation talking over a video. Nothing tedious, no dreadful chat and very careful and measured. And the style and finished product-beautiful. This will be my go to for quite some time. Thank you.
IDK if I am repeating myself but ever since I started watching your videos months ago even though I painted in oils and acrylics for the last few years and just like a year or so into water coloring... I've learned so much in these exercises that it brought my paintings into another level it taught me to be free where before I would either not finish a painting because I felt it wasn't good enough to even look at myself. I am free to paint and it feels good to let loose and come up with something nice. so you should pat yourself on the back for giving people like me who struggled to let go! Thank you from the bottom of my heart your amazing Happy New Year!
I like the doodled ones best. I read books too. I prefer to hold the "real" thing when I'm reading rather than to hold a phone or tablet. So I have many bookmarks. Now I want to make my own. Thank you.
I at first was thinking the ones witout doodles were the best but actually the ones with doodles are amazing too. I love both. And yes I do love reading too. Thank you 🙏
I like the non doodle best myself and I still read a lot of books.. I think you like the doodled the best. Truly I love them ALL. Thank you for sharing.
I really enjoy watching you create beautiful pieces of art. You make it look so simple. I like the non-doodled bookmarks the best, although I love your doodling. It looks softer without the doodles, so it really depends on the look you are after.

Loved both of them! I really like loose florals, they are my favorites in some cases. Specially for beginners it’s a good way to start! Thanks for your teaching 🌷🌻🌼🌺
Yes really love ... I have new nice supplies and believe I will start with these ideas. I might like the non doodled ones with just the white centers better but really love them all! Thanks 😊

I luv the doodles and non-doodles. Each different and lovely in their own way.
I love the doodled book marks. They stand out remarkably. Thank you so much, CeeCee. You are inspiring.
Doodled or not, each individual one has its own charm. I love them all. Thank you so much for the inspiration.

I've painted WC for years and this the first time I've seen the paper taped down and moistened on the back! Brilliant! Wonderful video! Thank you!
Do you still create an your WC or could you achieve a table? 😂
I always taped mine down. So much better to work on

Good tips : Wet the underside of the sheet of paper 💡👍🏻 Thanks 🇫🇷🙂
I prefer the doodle ones, I think it gives a nice modern touch. Thanks a lot for the idea, I did it with my daughter and we both enjoyed it!
I love both but if I have to pick one I would say the non-doodle are my favorites! Thanks for sharing
I like the way you explain what you do. On top of that your voice is easy to listen to.

Yes please!!!! Me too!!
The pallet is there in the beginning and off and on throughout this video. She also mentions where she uses those colors.
Beautiful. I used to use this technique with my grade 6 students...we used fine tipped sharpies...they were beautiful when all 30 finished paintings were displayed on the bulletin board. I will have to try it again. Thank you.
Both versions are so beautiful, but I absolutely love the "character" of the doodled ones!
They're both beautiful... ! Prefer just flowers, no ink! Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us 😄🌴🌺☃❄

Thank you so much. My heart raced when I spied a new video from you. I’ve watched EVERYTHING you posted a few times, at least, some a lot. ♥️
Beautiful. I like the non doodles but both are so nice. Thank you for sharing.💕
I really like the undoodled ones. They're exquisite and look more like natural flowers.
I at first was thinking the ones witout doodles were the best but actually the ones with doodles are amazing too. I love both. And yes I do love reading too. Thank you 🙏
Thank you for the tips! I never thought to use glass this way. I'll be trying it out!
it totally works for me. as long as you tape your work properly. make sure the edges of the glass are dry.
Beautiful always wonder if 'beautiful' is the right word yo describe art!!!! GREAT THANKS AGAIN
That is a really smart trick/tip! Wetting first, that is. Thank you so much. And, your painting is so beautiful!
I like them both for different reasons.they would make an interesting wall design. Hanging them beside each other like you have them laid out! Yes?
"WOW"
BEAUTIFUL...
I am so glad I came across your video...
This shows just how you take different pens and
accentuate each painting strip. "Amazing"
Thank you so much for sharing these technique(s).
I loved watching your process. I like the doodle ones better...I think. Lol. It’s hard to pick...I really do like both..! I’m going to try this technique. Thanks for sharing your talents...
I actually love both and I like them in alternate strips on the white background. It adds to the impressionistic feel.
I love how you explain everything so carefully, in such detail. Really useful for a beginner like me. Thank you so much!
O I love them all. Very beautiful. But the doddle one just pops.
The bookmarks are lovely, I think I preferer the non-doodle ones. I work in a library, I'm going to try and make my own and give them out to customers
Always wanted to work in a library😁
They are both beautiful! I LOVE the doodled bookmarks best! Thanks for this tutorial!
I made a variety of book markers using your technique and it worked!!!! I love them. Even my 23 year old grandson was impressed. lol Plus, I lightly sprayed with fixative which will keep them stable. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thank you! with my cheapie kiddies water colour palette, I attempted to paint for the first time after 45 years and really enjoyed your tutorial. great advice about not 'over thinking' it
This is exactly the kind of style I’d like my watercolor paintings to convey. The doodles add such a nice touch and dimension. I’m so glad I found this video and I can’t wait to try to recreate my version of your lovely and beautiful painting!
The bookmarks are really gorgeous! Thank you for sharing these.
They are all beautiful I love them
Loved them all but the doodled ones had wonderful energy for me! Thank you so much!
I loved the bookmarks all set out in a mix of doodled and non doodled - like a triptich or multipanel . very inspiring, thank you.
I like the paint flicking as it randomises the flowers. X
I love them both, you have really inspired me to paint again. Thanks for sharing.
I love this type painting! Your tutorial is exactly what I have been looking for. Thank you!
Beautiful and inspiring. I love the doodled ones.
They are beautiful i love both the doodled and non doodle ones the combination pink and golden yellow is so pretty
I think I like the non-doodle ones best; but there were a couple doodled bookmarks that I like too. I just stumbled upon your videos and love them. I am a 70 year old Granny who has loved to "color, cut, and paste" my entire life. When I was little all I had to work with were watercolor paint, crayons, and lots of glitter! I took up card making several years ago and just in the past year have started painting on stamped images with watercolor so am now thinking of just doing some "loose" flower painting thanks to your inspiration. Love your work! Thank you so much for sharing your techniques and artistry! I find I spend more time "watching" than doing...guess I need to reverse this.
Oh my CeeCee...these look fabulous!!! love them both but I am leaning towards the doodle florals...love your loose lines!
So creative. Love both. Cant make up my mind. will try it. Thanks
I like both...but the non doodle ones are awesome..love the dreamy aspect..
I am fascinated by the different looks simply by adding doodles. Thank you. I am a beginner watercolor painter and need something creative and easy.
I loved this exercise!!! I found out how much I love watercolor AND doodling. Thank you!
So glad I found your channel. Just binge watching today. Love your style. Can't wait to see more.
Genius tip with spray bottle dampening the underside of the paper!
100%
They are all beautiful! I would choose a doodle one though. Thank you for a wonderful tutorial!
Loved both of them! I really like loose florals, they are my favorites in some cases. Specially for beginners it’s a good way to start! Thanks for your teaching 🌷🌻🌼🌺
I am a non painter, but just created an amazing hummingbird after watching a few of your videos. Thanks for the inspiration💕
Your sooo inspiring! These turned out beautiful. I really like your doodling, it adds a whimsical feel. Thank you so much!
It's difficult to say which one is more beautiful. Both are amazing
Beautiful! I love the watercolor + doodles ❤️ Thank you for another inspiring video.
I was inspired to buy some watercolour and give it another try after watching this thank you!
I love Flowers! I just did a video of tulips. I love this video 🌷
I’m 75 and interested in learning watercolor painting…you have inspired me❣️🤗
Yes really love ... I have new nice supplies and believe I will start with these ideas. I might like the non doodled ones with just the white centers better but really love them all! Thanks 😊
