My Tomato Harvest Became a Delicious Traditional Dish for the New Year! | Poorna - The nature girl

- As I remember it’s been like about three months before when i planted some tomato seeds in a yield. Which were brought by my father from the fair. By about 2 or 3 days, i was so amazed to see a bunch if plats grown. I think it took about two weeks for me to putting it to a plant bed. As fertilizers, what i put was some of those dried leaves, gliricidia leaves, and some fertilizers. When the trees became a bit a grown up, i set a fence for them. The tomato plants are some kind of plants which aren’t much resistant to wind and rain. The plants started to bloom two or three flowers when it became a month. When the tomato plants grow, they tend to spread branches. Normally those branches should be cut from the tree, that’s when, fruits bear only in the strong tree trunk. So when the tomato flowers start to wither with about two days gone, the beautiful, sweet, tomatoes which are mostly like sand particles start to bear. Until they become large with that attractive bright reddish color, i am the person who looked after them as a mother..😍 Actually to say the truth, it’s very hard to convert that happiness into words.
In the morning I started to pluck the tomatoes because they were perfectly ripped.As i think, the first harvest of the tomatoes were about 5 kilograms. I kept some of the tomatoes to get dried in the sun, while using the other rest to make a tomato chutney and a sauce. These are some of the best tricks to preserve the tomato harvest.
When it took about two or three days, i was impressed to make a curry powdered rice when i watched my kochchi video. Because on that day, i made a rice with an attractive smell. When i finished thinking how the rice should be made, and when i went to the kitchen, that’s when i saw my mother was to making the prawns for a curry...
When fried with ghee,pandan leaves cardamom and sera and and adding the rice to it gives out a very nice smell. Right during this time, i thought about the method on, how the prawns should be cooked.
After adding the rice to the mixture made by ginger, garlic, curry powder and eggs, and then by deep frying curry leaves, onions, and spices, to say the truth. i got a very nice traditional smell. Should it be because of the spices made at home and the using of tomatoes in my own garden? So i named my rice as curry powdered tomato rice...😍
The milky curry which is fried with the butter and when some coconut milk with the prawns, actually it is very tasty. With them the dried tomato pieces with some lime.....that taste should be definitely tasted...😍 the taste of the omelette where the tomato sauce was centered in it also had a very nice flavour. When i started to eat the food, i felt that there was something missing.....ohhh...fruits,fruits...
I quickly went and plucked a papaw and then quickly sat to eat some rice..😍

මට මතක විදිහට මීට මාස තුනහමාරකට වගේ කලින් තමයි මම තක්කාලි ඇට පෝච්චියක තවාන් කලේ.ඒ තාත්තා පොලෙන් ගෙනාපු හොදට ඉදුනු තක්කාලි ගෙඩි දෙකකින්.දවසයි දෙකයි ගියේ මෙන්න බොලේ පුංචි පුංචි පැල පොකුරක් ඇවිත්.සති දෙකකින් විතර තමයි මම ඒවා පාත්තියක ඉන්දුවේ.පෝර විදියට නිතරම දැම්මේ කොලරොඩුයි ඇල්බීසියා කොලයි කුකුළ් පෝරයි තමයි.ගස් ටිකක් ලොකු වෙද්දි මම ඒකට මැස්සක් ගැහුවා.තක්කාලි ගස් ගොඩක් ශක්තිමත් නැති නිසා හුලඟට වැස්සට ඔරොත්තුදෙනවා අඩුයිනේ.ආයි මාසයක් වගේ යද්දි මල් එක දෙක හැදෙන්න ගත්තා.තක්කාලි ගස් හොදින් වැඩුනම අතු විහිදෙන්න ගන්නවා.සාමාන්‍යයෙන් ඒ අතු ගහෙන් කපලා අයින් කරන්න ඕන.එතකොට තමයි ප්‍රධාන කදේ විතරක් නිරෝගි ගෙඩි හටගන්නේ.ඉතිං තක්කාලි මල් පරවේගන ගිහින් දවස් දෙක තුන යනකොට තමයි ලා කොල පාටට වැලි කැට තරම් පුංචි තක්කාලි පැංචො මනිපත්‍ර වලට මැදිවෙලා ඉන්නවා පේන්න ගන්නේ.එයාලා ලොකු වෙලා පාට වැටිලා රතු පාටට ලස්සන වෙනතුරුම, දුක සැප හොයලා මම තමයි අම්මා වගේ ආදරෙන් බලාගත්තේ..😍ඇත්තටම ඒ සතුට වචනයට පෙරලන්න හරිම අමාරුයි..
උදේ පාන්දරම මම තක්කාලි කඩන්න පටන්ගත්තේ ගෙඩි ටික හොදටම ඉදිලා තිබුන නිසා.මුල්ම තක්කාලි අස්වැන්න කිලෝ පහක්වත් කඩන්න ඇති මං හිතන්නේ.කොටසක් අවුවේ දාන්න වෙන් කරලා,ඉදුනු කොටස ගෙට අරන් ගියේ තක්කාලි චට්නි එකක් හදලා,සෝස් එකකුත් හදන්න ඕන කියලා හිතාගන.තක්කාලි අස්වැන්න කල් තියාගන්න ගැලපෙනම උපක්‍රම තමයි මේවා.
තක්කලිත් දාලා සුවදට තුනපහ බතක් හදන්න ඕන කියලා මට හිතුනේ දවස් දෙක තුනකට පස්සේ,මගේ කොච්චි වීඩියෝ එක බල බල ඉද්දියි.මොකද මම එදත් සුවද බතක් හැදුවනේ.බත හදන විදිය ටිකක් කල්පනා කරලා බලලා මම කුස්සියට ගියාම තමයි අම්මා කිරට උයන්න කියලා,සුද්දකර කර ඉදපු ඉස්සෝ ටික දැක්කේ..
ගිතෙල් දාලා රම්පෙ එනසාල් කරාබුනැටි සේර එහෙම දාලා,තෙම්පරාදු කරලා බත් එක තම්බගත්තම හරිම සුවදයි.බත හදන ගමන්ම තමයි මම ඉස්සෝ හදන විදිහත් කල්පනා කරේ.
ඉගුරු සුදු ලූනු තුනපහ පොල්කිරි එක්ක බිත්තර දාලා උකු කරගත්තු හොද්දට සුවදට තම්බගත්තු බත් එක එකතු කරලා,ගැඹුරු තෙලෙන් බැදගත්තු ළූනු කරපිංචා මිරිස් එකතු කරගත්තම ඇත්තමයි මටනම් පුදුම ගැමි සුවදක් එන්නේ.ගෙදරම හදාගත්තු කුලු බඩු මුහුකරලා මගේ තක්කාලි අස්වැන්නත් එකතු කරපු නිසා වෙන්න ඇති නේද?ඒ නිසා මම බත් එකට තක්කාලි තුනපහ සුවඳ බත කියලම නම තිබ්බා..😍
ගෙදරින්ම නෙලාගත්තු එලවලු වල කිරි රසය බටර් වලින් තෙම්පරාදු වෙලා මිටි කිරි වලින් පොඩ්ඩක් මෙලෙක් උන ඉස්සො ටිකට කවලම් උනාම ඇත්තටම හරිම රසයි.ඒ අතරට වේලපු තක්කලි පලු දෙහි ඉස්ම ටිකක් දාලා තිබ්බම...ඒ රසයනම් අත්විදින්නම ඕන.විස්තර කරන්න අමාරුයි..😍 තක්කාලි සෝස් මැද්දට දාලා මම හදපු ඔම්ලට් ලූණු කෝප්ප වල රසයත් ඉස්සෝ කවලමට දෙවෙනි උනේ නෑ හොදේ..
කෑම ටික මේසෙට යවලා අම්මලට කෑම කන්න කිව්වට පස්සෙත් මට මොකක්හරි අඩුවක් තේරුනා...ආ... පළතුරු.. පළතුරු...
ඉක්මනටම ගිහින් ගස්ලබු ගෙඩියක් කඩන් ඇවිත් මේසෙට තියලා,පරණ අවුරුද්දෙ දවල් කෑම මේසෙට මාත් අම්මලා එක්ක බත් ටිකක් කන්න වාඩි උනා..😍
සොබාදහමට තවත් ලං වෙන්න.උතුම් මිනිසෙක් ලෙස මේ කෙටි ජීවිතය ගතකර සන්සුන්ව නිකම යන්න..🌿

Tomatoes are one of my favourite foods, and the shops in the UK only sell tomatoes from a very small number of varieties. So this year, I am planting some seeds from other varieties to grow my own. I only have a small place to grow things, but plan on growing things in tubs to make the best of the space I have.
Edit: Those onion rings with egg looks like a fabulous lunch dish, think I'll give it a try.
