I can't find the right words to thank you. I feel with peace and comfort when watching your films in this wonderful city. I spent a year in this city studying and doing a Masters degree in construction Management at Sheffield Hallam University. When I left the city, I felt that my soul remained there, and my body only returned to my country. I hope that you will shoot a film on the campus of Sheffield Hallam University. Greetings to you from Libya
Thanks for your videos. I am from Denmark and stayed in Sheffield in 1986 - 1988. I studied photography at Granville College of art and design. Seeing Your videos I really miss Sheffield.
I lived in Crookes in 1972 I rented a house in Toftwood Road, with two friends it was number 82A a fairly modern house at the time, we were studenr nurses,I recognised the Punchbowl pub, and the old school, which was a school then, I also remember a pub called "the Old Grindstone".
Thank you for a lovely video. I lived in Wesley Lane, but left with my parents 75 years ago. There are still many familiar landmarks, although regrettably the school is no more. Also the picture theater appears to have gone. The people living in Crookes are so fortunate. I still miss not being there.
Wow looking good and a lovely chear blue sky So many new Biuldings too Thank you so much. Have you videoed Woodseats Chesterfield Rd area Our family the Wardleys were all born in Woodeats or Meersbrook Our last address was 130 Abbey Lane we had the first TIR moving business in Yorkshire ie European Removals We left becasue of all the dock strikes and others in 1971 and 1972 Cheers Ann in Canada
Hey Ann, That’s a lovely message thank you! Yes we have done Woodseats once if you check out our channel on here you will find it We will film Meersbrook for you in the next few weeks 👍
I dont know how I have only just discovered this channel! How I cant wait to look through your vids now. As per one of the comments below I hope you do a walk around Crosspool soon.
That was so good. Would love to come and visit. I used to lie on Neil Road (met so so many people who lived there too) in Eccleshall. That would be good to see too.
Hi, it’s very nice to see crookes, I used to live in south road, walkley which is close to crookes and I used to take 52 bus, if any chance please make a video for walkley so that I can relive my memories, appreciate your time and effort making these videos.
Thank you very much - yes we will definitely film Walkley - it's been a while since I was there last so will be an adventure! Thank you for your support!
My dad's family was from Crooks Walkley Rd. My Dad and Mom imagrated 1967 when I was 5yrs old. They both passed a couple of years ago. Miss them so much. Even though I was so young. I sill have a yearning for England . I was born. Actually on Bellhag Rd. Thank for sharing!
As some one that longs to visit.. I can't thank you enough. It would be special if you took videos alike if the venues at night when bands start playing again!! Cheers!

Lived in Crookes for 12 years must say on a Sunday in the summer time everything used to stand still, pubs were open and people enjoyed the fresh air out of the city as it’s the highest community in Sheffield and what a view at the top of school Road. And on the bowl hills you can see the planes going into Manchester airport to the north side you can see Emily Moor Mast. I lived on Pickmere Road opposite the old tram sheds that was took over by the parks department and my local was the Masons Arms. It was strange at night laying in bed listening to the hammers banging in the steal works at night. Happy Days! Have a walk through Harthill next time a very old village on the East side of Sheffield/Rotherham
We live on Pickmere Road too. Must be a long time since you lived there MrStargeezer you might be surprised to know that the tram sheds/parks department has long gone, demolished and replaced by a Catholic Church. The Mason's Arms is still there but unfortunately they don't sell 'Magnet' any more
@@anthonyowl7791 Thanks for the reply, we left 35,Pickmere Road in 1988 for Kiveton Park and moved to Harthill because most of my friends had died and it was getting to be a very unsavoury place to live and most of the people we did not know. I have popped back a couple of times and was there two months ago visiting my friends in Crookes cemetery tending there graves. I also visited 35 Pickmere and know it has changed a lot I sometimes visit The Masons and the Ball inn and my father in-laws old house on Warwick Terrace. It’s funny my next door neighbour in Crookes lives in Halfway and I see her regularly, what a small world we live in. It’s true you can never go back, the place as not changed ?
Been in the pub and the Indian next door. was an Italian as well on that street. Sainsburys had local and crookes they are definitely crooks🤣. People are the best round Sheffield very friendly.
No mention of the boards at the top of Cobden view road, and the beautiful trees being chopped down, and the green space and wildlife being desecrated by development.sad time's.
Remember that we don't know everything about every area so are bound to miss things or not point some of them out. What we do is revisit places and re-film them again later to show changes, but also to include the places people tell us about or that we might have missed!

I love these videos!
I have been stuck in Russia due to the lockdowns, so it is lovely to walk down these UK streets on my laptop!
Ah thank you so much William! More on the way!

It's on the list of places to film! Watch this space!
Thanks for all the great videos you shoot, I think there's an effect on the video which made it cloudy rather than sunny.
Oh not sure
Nice to see the no.52 bus to Crookes at the end. Thanks Human League.
More to come!
Really enjoying your videos...can you make a video of Sheffield residential area...show us the house's too

Keep practicing you'll get there! ♥️

Oh that's definitely going to happen - I"m just counting down the days till I can do that!
The ball pub was the local boozer of singer Joe Cocker who also lived in the area, anyway thanks for the video, enjoyed it,
Glad you enjoyed it
I lived in Sheffield for 10 years and never went to Crookes. That being said, just watching this video, you can instantly tell that it is Sheffield
True
You missed out the biggest pop start ever from Crookes. Joe Cocker. He lived at 38 Tasker Road.
Ah didn't know that! Thanks Ken!
I used to take long walk (adhering the guidelines) during th Covid lockdown in Sheffield. Gosh I could have contributed videos 🤗 This is so nice 🥰
Thank you
Thoroughly enjoyed that especially the extra information you give about the area and the buildings. Have you got round to Broomhill and Crosspool yet
Thank you very much! That means a lot to me.
They're on my list ready to go - will be filmed in the coming days/weeks :)
Nice video. What camera are you using? Thanks. Edit to add - I found the information in the description. Thank you.
Thank you! Just my phone or a GoPro

Yes good point
Maybe a plaque or two should be put up
Sheffield really does need blue plaques
No mention perhaps due to bad reputation?
Mentioned Cocker a couple times to local folk and there was no acknowledgement?
Can you make a video of all the live music pub venues in Sheffield please!!
That's a GREAT idea - I'm going to do exactly that!
Watch this space and thanks!
What a strange time summer 2020 was.
Hi loving your videos could you do one of Shirecliffe for my mum thank you 👍🏻
Yes I can!
That would be great cheers, looking forward to seeing it and showing mum 😊

Bring plenty of cash if you're gonna try Zara's lol
I read it was affluent,it looked poverty stricken
It's a great area to live!
Shouldn't that be the 'infamous' St Thomas' Church?
ha ha yes!!
Excellent Zara’s and the Indian chef only had a one star food hygiene rating earlier this year 🤢
Yeah just checked and you're right - that's a real shock to be honest!
