Even in Nigeria always try to buy your tomatoes before the rain starts and to avoid all this plenty work at ago is just wash them and select the strong ones in bagco bags and just put in the freezer, while you blend the soft ones. So everytime you are cooking fresh tomatoes . I have been doing this for almost 8years now and most time I don't even when tomatoes get expensive in Nigeria ❤.
Omo! I just did mine too o. 4 boxes of tomatoes, 6 boxes of bell peppers and 4 bags of onions. I’ve washed, cut, blended and boiled. So I have cooked stew base, efo, egusi and Okro base and jollof rice base! I’ve bagged and frozen them till next year. It was a lot of work but it will definitely help me save time and money till next year.
I just subscribed to your channel now, i arrived Canada 3weeks ago and I just put to bed twin boys, see this your video is a life saver. Hopefully i will be doing this soon. Thanks for sharing 🥰🥰
Congratulations sis 🎉❤ Pls how long did it take you to get your decision ? I applied since July, biometric done on 1st August but uptil now no response yet
I just did mine last week and it's a lot of work oo, well-done sis. I don't do the freezing method, I did mine the canning way for convenience. You will be so happy not to spend too much during winter.
I too do the canning method and it helps so much as I don't really have freezer space ...for anyone who wants to learn, look up 'pressure canning' ..it's how I preserve most of my foods especially tomatoes and peppers as they become shelf stable and don't need to be frozen
Wow 😮! You are superwoman! This is reality 😅. I’ve saved this video! In fact I now have your videos saved in a seperate file on my play list 😊. p.s. There are taps outside in UK homes oooo😂😂😂😂 . In houses sha, not sure about flats 😊

U try. This is really stressful. Thank God na abroad u dey, u can boast of 24/7 electricity. One can't try this freezer method in Nigeria. When in season, I do buy tomatoes, red bell peppers (tatashe) blend, boil to reduce the water in them. I package it hot into clean, glass bottles (mayonnaise bottles). This keeps me all yr round. I don't worry about tomatoes especially when not in season.
Well done Tomi, thanks again, me I have gone to look for you on other social media platform, cos I wanna draw from this wealth of experience and knowledge. All this tips will come handy when I finally make my way out of this country
Yes this was the only way. We had deep freezers two one in the garage and one in the basement. We actually use to shop at the chicken farm as a family. I would say every household does this. People started catching onto m and Ms food and just started meal prepping at home. I remember knob hill farms with their green bins for shopping it was the best store ever! But then it started to become very expensive and sometimes thise big huge boxes of cereal was stale! But yea this is the only way to do it in Canada. Italian and Portuguese would do in their garages Jamaicans and Trinis too! We would be seasoning chicken for days! Haha 😆 Indiana have grandma in the kitchens making tons and tons of chaptis. Canada is hard work but well worth the process. God bless you
The zip lock bags are better buying them at Costco. There more durable. I use to order them from Sysco too! Well on the job but I paid out of pocket for better quality goods.
Hi, I don't think coming with pots is a great idea but if you have the space for it, why not. For the blender, the plug used in Canada is entirely different from the one in Nigeria, check online for the type of plugs used in Canada
For me, I brought my pots from Nigeria - I have not had a reason to buy pots here, I cargoed them ( I considered cost of cargo and cost of buying the kind of pots I would like and it was cheaper for me to Cargo- it depends on you. As for your buchymix blender, just sell or dash someone. it will not work here. Thanks a lot
This is amazing prepping. Consider canning them using mason jars incase power goes out & your freezer does not have electricity 🤷🏽♀️ just saying, good job though!!
But we still buy from the farmers market and H&W produce in the winter na. Why are they stressing you new comers like this na . I buy in boxes once in a while but not all the time o.
Hi sis, please did you buy your buchy mix blender in Nigeria or did you buy in Canada. I heard it isn’t advisable to bring appliances from Nigeria to Canada due to the adapter edge not sure how true that is so please 🙏 when I am am coming to Canada do you advise that I bring my appliances from Nigeria. Thank you
Good Question, please don't come with your appliances from Nigeria. You can buy here, the ones from Nigeria will not work here. I bought my Buchy Mix here, ordered for it online
You try. Can't do this. I usually buy from the farmers market . I partition my freezer with cardboard and just pour in the different kinds of peppers and tomatoes until its full to the brim. Take out what I need per time, wash, steam, drain and blend. I use my biggest freezer for this.
I can imagine 😁. A lot of people told me this is what they do. Someone was asking me why I didn't boil or steam the tomatoes? I was like, with this quantity? I will do that for the fresh ones I stored in the freezer

Your video is helpful, that's what we do here every year, a box can go up from $40 to $60 in winter, welcome to canada.❤
Wow. glad I did. Thank you so much

Well done super woman 💃

Wowwww. Thank you so so much Sis.
I really appreciate it.
Nice❤
You could try steaming the tomatoes/pepper first , allow to cool before blending.
You will love the result😊
Exactly
I do it back home, I don't even steam, I prefer to grill in the oven but with this quantity, I couldn't.
My plan is to do that with the fresh uncut ones in the freezer- after being soggy from frozen, I will dry it out first in the oven before blending
Do you steam the bell peppers with the seeds ?
I personally don't like the taste when it is steamed. I prefer to blend before boiling.

Hello Sis, please can you explain how you prepped and cleaned everything. In the video you mentioned something about Vinegar.
I simply poured some white vinegar over them to deep clean and rinsed with water again. If you feel your produce is not too dirty, then it is optional
