The first time this music played I was fighting really weak enemies, and I thought they were sending me voice messages like "That is crazy!" "You can't kill me!" "Can you hear me?" Our ships were in a sort of patt situation having lost both guns / entry corridors to guns. Took me a while to find that the sound was from the music lol. Fantastic music design, the only thing I would like added is a "blueprint" mode next to the battle and voyage mode. Something that plays very slow, focus music.
This. This is why I think cluster 2 is the best track in the game. Both the voyage and struggle versions are really well done and swap over really well ingame. This is a masterclass of adaptive music in videogames. The only thing I'm not sure about is the intercom chatter but it's still an absolutely wonderful track, well dome!!
I kind of agree, this one in particular is great, especially hearing it in the actual game but what breaks this track for me, as you mentioned, is these weird voices in the background, there's just something really off about them. Otherwise yeah, this is a phenomenal track... But which one isn't?.. I personally still prefer cluster 3's and 6's ''Struggle'' versions overall, though, and my favorite voyager version is cluster 8.
@@mergins1958 I believe the chatter being incomprehensible adds to the song, as it acts like the crew communicating during battle, which further adds to the intensity.

Here I am sat on a grey Saturday morning, listening to a masterpiece soundtrack to a game I would not have heard of save for going down a chiptune rabbit hole and ending up here. This is some truly brilliant stuff.
@@GBHighlands not sure if I'm misunderstanding you but a quick journey down Dubmoods earlier works should explain why @onedavewreckingcrew mentioned chiptune. If nothing else "the algo" should recommend you music from that specific genre after listening to some of his work. My freind found this game in his discovery tab about a months and we both tried the demo, onve we both loved it and got the game i couldn't stop playing, still playing it now
I love this, the voices in the background are indistinguishable, yet you almost get the feeling they're voices from the officers onboard giving orders. Or the intercom chatter declaring something over loud speakers.
@@I-Stole-Your-Toast700 Dont worry Toast, thats our natural sound-pattern seeking skill that helps us hear predators or other people to avoid death or find friends, so thats the same thing why you can hear like someone says your name randomly on the street even through no one did that, so there is no reason to be scared and that means only the fact that your system like this works good :D
This one, is really, really good, which is quite odd as the regular ''Voyager'' track of this is one of the least exceptional ones in my opinion. It has some great moments like *3:50* part, but overall it's not that memorable... But the Struggle version, is top tier Cosmoteer music. I unfortunately can't say that it's my favorite though, not even close. The weird chattering voices in the background are a little distracting and it still has that Cluster 2 problem of not having some memorable parts, even if to a lesser extent, like this entire super long part *4:45**-**5:58* before the music picks up its pace again. Overall, still an amazing piece that I'm glad we get to hear in the actual game, even if there are some better ones for sure.
Every cluster is memorable. When I’m listening, I’m always thinking in the back of my head, “Oh, I remember that part! That played when my ship was blown to pieces!” or “Oh! That played when I defeated that really hard enemy!” Truly beautiful stuff, believe me.
Cosmoteer atmosphere: 50% Gameplay / 50% Music

Absolutely love this track! Especially the part beginning at 1:32 and when the voice starts at 2:45.
Yes, very catchy. For whatever reason, probably YT shitty compression, but seems like I can hear the voice better in the game.
@@ModernDecay70 It's mastered a bit differently here.

I actually think the chatter adds a lot to the track, it's almost filling in for vocals but without actual lyrics.

By far the best track (in my opinion) in cosmoteer. Kept an enemy alive just so I could continue to listen to this.
reminds me of hours of just letting [game with awesome music] title screen just be on for the music.
i am not so merciful so i slow down time
i just like how gritty it sounds, just the right amount of distortion

when did electronic music get renamed to chiptune?

I always love hearing this one in battle. Especially the little voices. Amazing.
I heard this one the first time and immediately had to find it. The pesky little pirate escaped too fast for me to hear more of it.
When did you join cosmoteer?

So good! Thank you Dub!
Not only is the music great but those pixel art backgrounds are incredible. I get chills from watching and listening to this video

Love me a good Theremin drop
Best song in cosmoteer

I havent played the game so i dont know how it sounds ingame. But this track slaps haRD. Really suprised how much i enjoyed it.
Oh, you BET your ass it slaps hard as FUCK in game. Go get the game already n stop wasting time.

It gives you trill and excitement. Normally it play in relax version but once you got into a fight it transition to struggle version and vise versa.
hits so much harder when you've got two ships locked in a duel flinging missiles and lasers and bullets at eachother
Every voice I heard:
"Somebody save me!"
"We're here to save you!"
"YOUCANTBEATME."
"Somebody save you?"
"YOUCANTBESAVED"
"ITISTHEEND"
this is on another level

This is amazing! Good job, Dubmood
I wish I could make music as good as this. How did you do it? What did you use? How did you learn to make music?
Thanks. I don't think there is any one perfect way to learn how to make music. In my case, I spent my "10.000 hours" mostly in Fasttracker II.
I just got into sovietwave and here you are already showing off.
best track cosmoteer
The voices in the soundtrack are the lost souls in battle 🥲
i always see dem "dead astronauts" floating around in battles. now i know they had a voice
Thanks!!
this really reminds me alot of the boneworks soundtrack
❤
Is voise always says "Can you hear me?" On intercom, or he says something else sometimes, like on 7:45-7:47? Please help)
