    I think this is the first time I've really heard men having this conversation without women in the room influencing or pushing them towards admitting this kinda thing. It's surprised me how surprised I am to hear it. There are some days I walk down the street even if the sky is grey with sunglasses on and earphones in with no music playing because it's the only way I can guarantee no man can force eye contact or conversation on me. I don't even mean that in a way like I think I always look good and attract attention, there are also sometimes men just have unsolicited opinions I don't need. Man I've had a shit week don't tell me to cheer up or smile, fuck you. Keep yourself to yourself.

    Weirdly enough, I can relate to women getting harassed quite a bit. From being gripsed in my bicep by strangers wanting to talk, to all the excessive attention that makes everyday tasks a longage, particularly bopping into a gym. 'Tis peak, especially when so many people move like btec paparazzi.

    • @sour3000
      @sour3000 4 роки тому +14

      @Truth well if a woman were getting gripsed in the bicep by random people it would be sexual harassment... So why is it different when it's a guy?

    • @sour3000
      @sour3000 4 роки тому +5

      @Truth your argument is literally based on assumption. So when a guy reaches out and touches a woman's bicep its sexual harassment? What if he's just asking where the toilet is? Relax. See, keep the same energy when mens biceps are touched.

    • @eon001
      @eon001 4 роки тому +2

      @Truth You missed the point entirely. Physical harassment is still physical harassment, but OBVIOUSLY there's levels to it. Sexual harassment clearly is WAY worse, but he's trying to find a small window to relate. It will never be the same thing, but it's still a path to empathy.

    • @TheCNSR
      @TheCNSR 4 роки тому +3

      @Truth Did you just assume the sexual orientation of the people who made unwanted physical contact with me? 👀
      Nah I'm playing 😂, but there's some validity to it. To be fair I've been gripsed by more females than males and it still feels like a mad violation I can do nothing about. But ultimately, going off what I heard, those experiences haven't been foreign to me at all in recent years.

    • @leopardprints
      @leopardprints 4 роки тому +5

      He often drops little things into conversations that show he is really 'getting it' and actually cares. For example there was a conversation about the Red Light district in Amsterdam and Chuckie raised the issue of trafficked women.
      There was one podcast where Poet was saying ridiculous things about a friend who had (in his mind) done nothing wrong- the friend had been put on the sex offenders register after groping a woman, and Poet was angry about this because his friend was 'still a virgin'. And Chuckie was explaining that sexual assault doesn't necessarily have to involve penetration etc. (Bear in mind that Poet would have been in his early 30s when he was coming out with this nonsense). And when Poet was claiming that women don't get harassed as badly as men- and Chuckie told him that he shouldn't be speaking for what women go through.
      And he had an amazing conversation with Sidemanallday about male behaviour. (Do men listen to women enough) It's honestly so heartening to see men having conversations like this, unprompted.
      Chuckie is definitely one of the good ones!

      @@bellaingram1177 I also love Sidemanallday, he's quite active on his socials talking about female safety/ sexual assault. And talking about how men need to do more and be more aware.
      I do wish that Chuckie would challenge some of the sexist/ misogynistic things that some of the others say on the Podcast (especially Poet with his past Tweets).
      Also the podcast about whether they'd still be friends with a convicted rapist (in reference to Solo 45's crimes), wasn't great. Margs was the only one who outright said he'd cut ties with a friend who'd been convicted of rape. (You'd never have a group of women discussing if they'd still be friends with a rapist, so there was a lot of unchecked male privilege going on). There was no discussion of how having a rapist in their friend group would put the females in their lives at risk, either. It was a weird conversation.

    Thank you so much for this conversation- I wish more men would hold each other accountable.
    I've seen some men make comments that if a woman chooses to dress up, then she can't blame men if they wolf whistle or shout 'harmless banter'.
    First off, women can dress up for themselves. Wearing a nice dress is not a red light for you to start shouting at us!
    Secondly, they are missing the point. Being wolf-whistled and shouted at can be intimidating. Especially if you are on your own and it's a group of men. And it can be triggering for women who've experienced sexual assault.
    Women can be afraid to ignore these comments/ whistles- which is why France banned street harassment (i.e wolf-whistling) after a man attacked a woman who ignored his 'compliments'.
    What feels like 'harmless banter' to you, can be intimidating for a woman. Just stop it!
    This is not the same as being in a club or party and going up to a woman and complimenting her. Women should be able to walk down the street and not have to have men shouting at us.
    And it's not just 'women who dress up nice' who get harassed- how many girls get 'wolf-whistled' at on the way to school? On the way to work? Going shopping?
    and

I go to ask the girl on the side if anybody is using the bench, she airs me. I reach over to tap her on the shoulder, she goes "WHAT!" Moving rude for no reason. What you wear to the gym also contributes to you getting stares. Most guys wear a t shirt. Guys that wear the string vests likely want attention.
    Similarly, the girls that wear tight jeggings & sports bras likely want attention. Why not wear a t shirt & regular fit shorts like most people? Cause they want attention. They want guys looking at them, it boosts their self-esteem. A lot won't admit this but it's true. Why you think women always ask "how do I look?" They are very self-conscious & crave attention.

    I literally do what these women do at gyms. Headphones in, not making eye contact. It's not hard. For you to complain about getting stares, that means you're NOT avoiding eye contact. You're looking to see who's looking at you. Because you want the attention. Girls know what they're doing.

      They've all mentioned several times that during that show they are playing characters, it's not reality... So maybe the confusion is alot of people really believe how they act in that series is how they carry themselves in real life 🤷🏾‍♀️

    Agreed or true?...deep that for one to feel comfortable or uncomfortable it is based on their feelings which can be illogical and just emotional. It's only justified if they are uncomfortable due to past experience(s) that have similar patterns. In that case they need to learn how to deal with their emotions and problems effectively without fatal consequences to self and others that will produce the desired result they want. Look at it from another perspective it is like asking what can Black People do to make White People and Asian people feel comfortable when they perceive Black People as a certain stereotype. It's down to both White people and Asian people to learn how to deal with their emotions and problems effectively without fatal consequences to Black people.

      I understand your logic however it is extremely dismissive. Just this week we saw a young girl get possibly abducted and raped.( I’m sure you can still access that footage for reference)This situation is too common. Your argument sounds adjacent to white people not condemning WS Or racism. Toxic masculinity is an issue but before fixing it you have to address it.

      @@ar-d4348 we as in #TheAlkebulanTrust have seen that unfortunate footage and in reality EVERYTHING comes down to having the right education. With that young girl and that specific subject it's a sensitive topic but long-term wise for prevention boys from an early age need to be taught how to develop their true masculine skills. Which will eradicate what ever anyone perceives as toxic masculinity. So your comment is definitely acknowledged and appreciated.

      This is a flawed comparison. The beliefs other races have about black people are based on racism and discriminatory beliefs about black people. The beliefs women have about men are based on clear oppression and discrimination against women. You don't have to have a personal experience to be scared of men. Listening to the traumatic experiences of others is enough and I can tell you that the majority of women probably have some uncomfortable experience due to the entitlement of men. You must be a man lol
      It's about men being more self-aware of their behaviour and their privellege.
