Hi Flora and Note, Thank you for making vlogs about Hk now, my wife is from Hong Kong and I am an ABC (American born Chinese), we married in 2017 and live in NYC. I am happy that you were able to see your family again and speak both Cantonese and English while filming, I am glad both of you are giving me some updates currently about Hk, as we are planning to return next year Good luck!
Hi Flora and Note, My wife and I enjoy watching your vlog. We are so happy that you are getting a chance to spend time with your family in Hong Kong. We love watching and listening to you speak Cantonese. My two native languages are Cantonese and Thai so it is always fun to hear both of you speaking.

Thanks for sharing. I haven't been to HK since the beginning of Covid-19. The Clay pot with rice crispy bottom is the best for sure! You guys look like you are enjoying yourselves. Have fun!
Flora it's good to see you in Hong Kong with your family enjoying time with them. Note looks happy as well. I'm enjoying this HK series. I think one day you both should do a series in Singapore.
You guys are just the sweetest! I'm from HK too (but live in the UK) and have just come back from Thailand for vacation. Have been loving your videos! Hope you're having the best time in HK!!
If I have chance to go to Hong Kong I will try that chicken clay pot look yummy I also like the burnt rice bottom of the pot , what do you call the disc if green vegetable garlic fries next to that clay pot?
Wow talk about ‘bustling’ fits perfect lol. Man that’s a LOT of people and would thoroughly enjoy if I was a touch younger. As always the food looks amazing and those ‘waffles’ look strange but crispy and good. Not sure about the red beans but intriguing. Dessert when funds are lacking, made out of ‘savory’ items is a challenge some done well. I’m the ONLY person on the planet hates rice pudding/bread pudding! I’ve never had sticky rice but do wanna try it to confirm or deny lol-more for you if I don’t. Have the best visit ever enjoying family. 🙏🏻❤️
I grew up in HK, thank you for bringing back memories! Whenever we visited, we walk 6-7 hours a day and eating 4-5 meals focusing on “street food.” We usually start with street rice rolls 豬腸粉with all the sauces including lard 😋
Ah came across your channel. Good vlog. Claypot rice have you ever put on the sauce and cover. Wait several minutes then first using a spoon scrap down the sides and loosen the crust. Mix with rice and enjoy. Thanks fun vlog. Enjoyed. Merry Christmas!!!
More video of hongkong travel pleaseee, very interesting to see hongkong though the lense of your channel. And i like to hear from a thai perspective about hongkong too.
Love the pot rice shop. Always eat there when we visit. So pleased he is still there. Should be there later this year when we visit from UK after 4 years ahhh
@Flora and Note that's fantastic. Do you buy cakes from who we call the cake man? He's an older guy and his wife and they literally just sell cakes from the simplest of shops. I adore his cakes and hope he has managed to stay safe and maintain business
Miss Hong Kong so much! So nice to see the updates of it. I used to live on HK Island side and haven't been back since I left to go back to Australia in 2020. Mong Kok has some of the best food ever!!!
Love your masks!! 😂 my partner and I watch your vids all the time (diff ones) and we love how you guys cover things in your vids. Wish we are 20 yrs younger to do what you do, so inspirational, and you make it look so fun!
So nice to see! We lived in Hong Kong for 12 years but relocated to Dubai in 2020 a different position . I miss Hong Kong terribly. Hopefully we can visit soon :)
In the Philippines, that burnt rice is called tutong. When I was a kid, my grandma tells me that eating that will make me stupid. I suspect it's because she wants it for herself. 😂
My last visit was October 2019, I stayed in Mong Kok as well, it was full of energy. I just went for local food shops, so tasty and visited friends. Accommodation is probably 3 times higher than BKK.
First of all I just want to say I'm so excited to see you guys are doing a blog in Hong Kong one of my once favourite place although it has changed a lot in the last few years. Its such a shame to see places like ladies market, temple Street market ect..so quiet and not so many stalls now. I remember the days when the markets was jam packed with stalls and tons of tourists and even local people about. Your blog has now made me have the urge to visit Hong Kong again. I hope you both enjoy your stay in Hong Kong and Happy birthday to your Mama Flora 😁
Hi Flora, I hope you can answer a question for me. When i was a child in the 70s, HKG was a trip we would make at least once a year and we would stay in a hotel (that unfortunately is a commercial building now) on Nathan Road pretty much across from the Sheraton Hotel. When we would stay in that section of TST, one of the restaurants/cafe we used to go to in that area was also called Ho Ho. Are there a lot of restaurants in Hong Kong with this name or could the one you went to possibly be the same owners (but moved to a different location)? Thanks to both you and Note for the great videos you make.
@@FloraandNote Thanks for the info. Yeah, my guess was similar name too. I guess naming a restaurant "Very Good" in Cantonese could be fairly popular! :)
Hi hopefully you can shown us some remote places & eatery. I remember many’s year ago took a subway to north west - just a street shopping and there was a famous wanton noodle (bright brown building ). Thanks
Hi Flora & Note . When I seen your guy in video in HK and ate food there, made me think about a HK style spicy noodle I used to go in there restaurant often when I was lived there . Mummy pancake is also my favorite is taste good not too sweet. Well have fun with you trip.
I would love to visit HK again. Last time I was there was right before the pandemic and the protests were shutting down MTR stations and we were caught in the middle. Can't wait to go and just eat in safety.
I guess for people like you it brings joy to know that many HongKongers can never return to their beloved home because they stood up to question tyranny and communism. Please visit HongKong and enjoy on behalf of the misery of others and thousands of HongKongers whose mouths are now tied in red cloth that reeks of Uncle Xis & his pet pikachu’s filth.
Great to see the vibrant atmosphere on the streets of Hong Kong in your video. Note looks so foreign to the food. i hope he enjoyed them and find them tasty. Your claypot really looks good. Note need to learn some basic Cantonese for a change .... and you sounds good in your local dialect. Hope you both continue to enjoy Hong Kong. Take good care.
I don't know Flora can speak fluent Cantonese. Good to see you guys enjoy Hong Kong style food. I grow up in Hong Kong and moved to Vancouver 30 years ago. Keep coming back every year but not any more after the pandemic. I love Thailand too and spent most of the time there after my retirement.
i love HK series. i know Note gonna be a follower and flora is a leader and google translate. Do like Note do in thailand 555 very fun to see this episode
Mongkok was one of my favorite spots to hang out when I visited HK. I don't know much about entirety of HK. I was looking for cheap hotels and I ended up booking a hotel that is in a red light district. At nights there is a man selling females outside on the streets. I was like shit I can't believe I am in a red light district. During the day it was ok like business as usual. At night things change. I traveled alone and I was running back to the hotel and hopefully not get stop by. But I did see many police vans parked at corners so I am not too scared. I think they are watching them.
Hiya Flora and Note. Love your masks. The pancake is nothing like I have seen. It looks tasty. Omg, wrong time to watch hungry now. Happy Weekend. Always good vibes. Have a wonderflo day.
Since you are back in HK try to make it out to Kennedy Town to Cheung Heung Yuen.. they are closing real soon for good, one of the best HK cafe places that I was able to try last week.
Note hit the nail on the head. Hong kongers are very straight forward and will just say it as it is. I remember going there as a kid and someone telling my mum she had put on weight 😂
love the HK series so many cool places. My brother referred me to your channel and I am new. Love to support but just curious is there any prize or surprise for your new fans? Thanks
good video, I just left few days ago lol Yes, the sneakers on the Sneakers Street are legit, and I had the same feeling hitting Mongkok, it feels very empty and a lot of shops were closed with leasing signs... I remembered there used to be a lot stores selling cosmetics and stuff, now they became pet stores everywhere... probably ppl nowadays spend more time at home, so they start buying pets
Finally a 2nd video. Nice jacket Note. Absolutely love pancakes [ plain, banana, coconut for me ] what happens if your phone is unable to read / scale QR Code?? [ I have asked over 10 times on other channels and not 1 word ] hopefully you answer. Yummy dinner. Excellent from start to finish.
Hmm I think you will have to print out your QR code and carry it with you because some places require you to show the QR code and they will scan it with their phone/device.
Shoes at Sneaker Street are definitely real. NBA athletes have been spotted there, including LeBron. And Flora's correct, they shrink-wrap the shoes to protect them from getting dirty from the hundred of hands that touch them each day. There are sneaker (resale) stores in the US that do this now too.
Friendly reminder to everyone who are interested to travel to Hong Kong. When u are sitting in a restaurant and you are not eating, take off your mask is not allowed. Policeman will give you a ticket for no wearing mask, the penalty for one HK$5000. Also when you are in a public area without a mask(or smoking), you will get a penalty ticket. *The QR code will not be cancelled. Of cause you will get a penalty ticket if you do not use the QR code when the place its needed. Welcome to the beautiful new Hong Kong!
0:01 There is a sign of footprints on the signboard in the background, which is a foot massage shop. If there is a smiley face on the footprints, it means that the shop has a happy ending. Heaven for men😊
Sneaker Street has real shoes and many of them are rare or import versions. The high quality fakes are in the street markets and night markets, like Ladies Market, but they aren't on display. For those, you have to look for the people with tablets. If they have a tablet with them and you ask nicely, they'll show you their inventory, or you can ask for a specific model and they will bring them to you within 10 minutes from somewhere else. The fakes kind of went away during the pandemic, though. When they shut the border, it made it difficult to get the products in from the mainland -- I would guess that the majority came from Luohu just over the border.
There is definitely something addictive to Hong Kong. Once you go, there's a certain sentimentality that you can't find in western countries. But living there can be quite different... Found it bit claustrophobia after awhile. Hong Kong be great for snowbirds.
Hey , I want to visit Hong Kong but will Chinese govt detain me with the New Security Law (Applicable to everyone on the planet ABSURD but its true) ? I have posted some anti chinese govt posts a few years back online. Whats your take on this ?
Awe man, I really want to hit up Hong Kong on my way back to Koh Samui from the US in a couple months. Even with the 3 day semi-quarantine, I think I'd still have a good time. If I may ask, what airline would you recommend flying from Hong Kong to Bangkok or Phuket? I've heard good things about Cathay Pacific and Emirates.
You should! It’ll be fun. Cathay and emirates are both good but pricier.. another option is Hong Kong Airlines. We flew Air Asia because we used our credits but we don’t really recommend it as they only have 1 flight per week.
Nice night life but way too busy for me. Stayed on Lamma island which was a nice change from central ..love the ladies market in Kowloon for fake goods ..I had a tough time haggling when I was there ...

😀 the best way to eat the crispy part is to fill in some chicken soup 🍲 so good 😂
Whattt!! How come we’ve never tried that before? 😆
What kind of camera do you use? Quality is good
We use a Canon M50 as our main camera :)
Nice night life but way too busy for me. Stayed on Lamma island which was a nice change from central ..love the ladies market in Kowloon for fake goods ..I had a tough time haggling when I was there ...
We also love biking around Lamma Island :)
what hotel do you recommend in Mongkok? thank you
we are into food and we guess travel and food relates each other. never have walked around hongkong, just in the airport as via when we travel
Maybe next time!
