The cost of living is beyond what middle class and the poor can afford. You may not have to pay state income tax but it is more than made up for in living cost. Rent prices, for example, are increasing by 28% yearly.
Floridians, yes the people, may be initially friendly but are not nice. They are rude and rough, lack any sympathy or compassion for others. No such thing as customer service in Florida.
You have to be super careful, there are scams everywhere.
Medical care is the worst in the country. Do not go to doctors, dentists or any other health care providers in Florida.
I agree there is definitely an affordable housing crisis is Central Florida especially in the rental market.
As far as the people go yes, some are rude, some are extremely friendly. It ultimate boils down to your community. Also, parts of FL are very transient and have the fast pace big city vibe and people can be rude. On the flip side there are lots of places in FL with great people and supportive communities.

When we did our search we looked at many communities in central Florida. We looked at Winter Garden, Winter Park, Celebration and Windmere. Although the neighborhoods were beautiful once we drove out we felt like it wasn't lovely anymore. The traffic is crazy! Most times it takes longer for us to drive from Orlando to Orlando than from Viera to Orlando. Not for us.
I know the feeling! When I realized it took less time to drive from Cocoa Beach to Orlando than Orlando to Orlando we packed up and hit the road 🤣🚚
I have never heard one single person say one positive thing about living in Orlando. lol. Thus I'm watching this video to try to find out why.
Orlando has weird energy. It tries hard to be the " next " it " city. aka like Portland, Columbus, Austin etc yet it just doesn't cut it. It's a mess.. literally built on swampland , it's hot and humid 9/ 10 months of the year. The traffic is crazy and the road rage is out of control. Unless you're into manufactured " fun" and dopamine hit theme parks.. constant crowds ( of either tourists or often angry locals ) then give Orlando a miss. It also smells musky as well. If you have allergies or asthma forget about it. The city has a lot of "generic" chain restaurants etc, yet completely lacks the artistic vibe, intangible energy and uniqueness that many other places in the US offer. The reality is that for many people who've actually traveled and or explored/ lived in other places/ states ( countries ).. Orlando just simply sucks! The title of your vid states it well, there's a reason many people " Don't like living in Orlando". lol
Orlando does not have an identity.
The number 1 reason for me is the people are horrible.
I HATE this place and cannot wait to leave-almost out, finally. It is a true mess and gets exponentially worse every single day. There is no reason, none, to live here and there is every reason to leave here. Oppressively hot for more than half the year, with l sclerotic roads, a staggering crime rate and terrible schools, the whole area has become a crowded cesspool that is overpriced overrated, and unbearable. A nice enough place to visit but you don't want to live here. There are far better options in nearly every other part of the country and even Florida.
The Orlando and Kissimmee area is NOT all that! and WAY TOO HOT 🥵

What an absolute joy to find this video, thank you so much, I am here since December 2021, and more than likely, I will not be renewing my lease and heading back to the northeast in December.
The people here have been remarkably kind, I've met a lot of good people here, transient ones yes indeed, but for the most part in my 6 months here it's been pleasurable, but overcrowded and expensive.
