I think the 2 billion cap is there for stability/gameplay reasons. The max 32 bit integer you can have is 2,147,483,647. Two things could happen if you go above that number. Either it will roll over to -2,147,483,647 which will completely break the game, or it will make the game crash. I think the devs went with a 2,000,000,000 cap because it's a nicer looking number than 2,147,483,647.
@@ashya.pashya The game itself is 64 bit, otherwise it wouldn't work either. The numbers are coded like that in game engine, it's not something they can control unless they make their own game engine or switch to a game engine that supports it. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as checking a box while developing the game.
Valid points all round. But there are other data types which aren't bounded the same way, e.g. Long, or Big Integer (if using Java) as an example. Surely the Integer limit can easily be bypassed that way?
I would like to suggest episodes about specific infrastructure. Like a powerstation build and a water treatment build etc. I very much liked the narrative driven approach in littletown.
Thanks for the suggestion. Builds like that generally aren't long enough for an entire episode, unless I do the whole build real time. Also, I've noticed that videos that focus on one specific thing tend to be monotonous, evident in the analytics that they don't get a lot of views, or people don't watch for long and just forward through to the end. Because of this, I try and mix up my videos so as to have a wider offering per video. Hope that makes sense.
I think a great name for this new town would be Emerald Hill - the layout reminds me of towns in New England, USA, and the naming convention feels similar. It could be an older "sister" city of the downtown that's already been built, and could really emphasize its green space and cozy, higher density housing. Loving what you've done so far with planning!
49:24 it’s missing a bridge in the port area. Directly to the right of the port, in that very first peninsula; there should be a two lane highway bridge (that kinda soars from the hill, over the port area, across the bay and to an outside connection in that island. It would be a natural extension of the rural highways place in this episode. The road would be perpendicular to the edge of the quay peninsula then slightly turn to be perpendicular with the water way. Hope to see it implemented!
Sanctum, saludos desde Uruguay. Hermosa ciudad! Me encanta!
I think it would be nice to make your medieval castle in a connected island similar to Mont St. Michel in France. It would look beautiful near the new city/harbor area.
53:21 Imo it's a very well developed grid, an old town with that castle will fit just perfect on that hill. I would like to see a more extravagant residential settlement in that "peninsula"(bigger lots for bigger houses). It would be very interesting to see a pedestrian bridge between the main town and that peninsula to avoid car traffic that will surround all the water front and finally taking the expressway.
Typically rail lines don't have trees nearby, because it causes problems when branches, leaves and other debris collect on the tracks. It's only an issue if you are going to realism, it's not a big deal if you prefer to go for aesthetics instead.
I think you should try to put the castle in the forest, with some abandoned farm and buildings that are on the map! It would look like a preserved old medieval town that were the basis of the city before industrialization, surviving its golden era and it delegation as a average city in the region
I think you should go even further SG! I reckon a dock or at least a gas terminal for SeaCo and their big power plant would be in order. Look forward to seeing the new town spring to life! Name? How about Tarport, either for the sticky black stuff about the place or the fact that sailors of old were called "Tars"...
You should consider adding pedestrian paths going over some of the train stations you have. So people from the “wrong” side of the tracks can get to the mass transit quickly
Im loving how particular and a perfectionist you are. Im the same. In saying that what is bugging me and now you once you see it, the 2 little single road piers, are not the same angle as each other. Sorry.
I've seen the road piers, and I chose to leave them at different angles. What bothers me about them though, I don't like the angles I've chosen to leave them at 😂😂 Will probably change them
Hi Sanctum Gamer. I have been watching your videos for a long time and I am your huge fan to all your builds in Cities Skylines. I cannot wait to see Scattered Islands looks complete at the very end.🤩 Name suggestions for few areas. For the Port, I suggest you name it as Port Delphis or Port Delphinos because it is located near to Dolphin Cove and Delphis or Delphinos means Dolphin in Greek. For this new town, from far it vaguely looks like a head of a dinosaur or T-Rex. So I can suggest to name it Tyranno Point or Tyranno Bay. Moreover, if you plan to extend any developments surrounding Lonar Lake, perhaps you may name the settlement/town as Lonarville. That is all i can come up. Happy to help you with the names. It is actually kinda fun figuring out these fictional names. Keep up the great work 👍
The peninsula the new city's on looks a lot like Florida to me. Not sure if you're still taking name ideas, but maybe somewhere on that island could be named after a Florida city? Like Orlando or Miami
Fantastic looking city! Can't wait until I get my hands on this game.💯
Thanks for the shout-out and you nailed the exact area I referred to as the Dolphin Cove.

Why they don't use 64 bit

Thank you for showing 2:44 how to remove that annoying node. I've had the same problem in my city and not known how to fix it. Now I can!
Your city designs are breathtaking.
Thank you very much!
There’s something relaxing about watching you lay down roads. I could watch it for hours 😍

Well wouldn't that be grand!

That's a great idea!
Instead of the Castle, there is a ruin on the island shaped as Africa next to the marina.
Relocating that to the foresty hill maybe fits better?
🌹

Noted and thanks for the suggestions!

Oooh, that's interesting. I didn't know that, but it makes perfect sense. Now you've created a dilemma for me 😅
I must say, after I know tyour chanel, my goal is recreate similar cities that you make here! I really love your creativity!
Yeah you definetly need to put the castle on that hill man😅 Awesome build😁
I think you should try to put the castle in the forest, with some abandoned farm and buildings that are on the map! It would look like a preserved old medieval town that were the basis of the city before industrialization, surviving its golden era and it delegation as a average city in the region
This is a brilliant idea!
the industrail harbor is great my name suggestion for it is Lohberg
Maybe after a few more videos go through the whole map and buldoze abandoned buildings and all those sort of problems throughout the map?
Noted.

The new town without terraforming looks like a turtle or tortoise, might as well name it Turtle Bay/Cove or Tortoise Town/Bay...
You should consider adding pedestrian paths going over some of the train stations you have.
So people from the “wrong” side of the tracks can get to the mass transit quickly
😂😂 "wrong side of the tracks"! Yeah, it's definitely the plan to add pedestrian bridges for better accessibility.
Don't forget to put a hospital , fire and police station in your new city😊
If the area is Dolphin Cove, the industrial area should be Dolphin Docks and the passenger area Dolphin Marina
What's that "Anarchy" and line mode when adding trees? Is it a mod? I thought there's no mods available for CS2 yet
You could name the faming area Green Acres and the industrial area Gas Worx.
The small island between Coal Point and the undeveloped town would make a great prison island.
Noted. Thanks for the suggestion.
Maybe a tram network fits for the new town transportation
You can add a light house in the hill since it's a harber town.
Hmm, will check to see if there is a light house in the game 'cause that's not a bad idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
the cap on 2 billion is because the 'intiger' variable that stores this data caps on 2,147,483,647
Someone made this point as well, but surely a different data type can be used, e.g. a Long, which doesn't have the 2 billion cap?
Im loving how particular and a perfectionist you are. Im the same. In saying that what is bugging me and now you once you see it, the 2 little single road piers, are not the same angle as each other. Sorry.

Incrível, perfeito!!!!❤

Don’t forget about the internet also if your making a down town area for this town try using 2 across by 3 up mix for that old town look
Noted. Will try remember.
Please do something with trams in the new city. The design is perfect for that.
Noted!
Is it possible to share the ready made maps with others in CS2 as well?
Please building mountain road that was very nice building mountain city 🎉🎉
The peninsula the new city's on looks a lot like Florida to me. Not sure if you're still taking name ideas, but maybe somewhere on that island could be named after a Florida city? Like Orlando or Miami
Ahhhhh... A new episode after my shift 😊
Nice layout. L&R, rellik
Man, this looks amazing
Thank you!
Why are you so good in road lay outing, do you have background in Urban Development or Planning??
Thanks for the kind words, but no, I have no background in any of those areas. I just have a wild imagination!
পঞ্চম কমেন্ট। অসাধারন, আমি আপনার শহরে থাকতে পছন্দ করবো ওখানকার বাসিন্দা হয়ে।
Maybe they'll create a mod that allows you to make more than 2 billion or even unlimited amount
Fingers crossed for this 🤞
this is a proposal for a cemetary instead of the crematorium
& i'd love to see trams, maybe in the next city?
The crematorium isn't mean to be a crematorium. I am just using the building because I like the way it looks.
crematorium next to a college 😂😂
Am I the only one sad that the hole is gone now?? 😂
You sound like you’re from South Africa???

can i download your other city for free? anyway, great vid
