I think this video over-summarizes a lot of the OG trilogy. Maybe good for people already familiar with the story just trying to catch up, but not really good for people looking to get a good understanding of the story.
Surely you didn’t put betrayal chronologically after Ghost of Sparta. ghost of Sparta literally ends with him donning the armour he has at the beginning of 2, which he doesn’t have throughout betrayal. He also has the blade of Artemis in betrayal, whilst not in Ghost of Sparta.
While true, Betrayal's narrative really only fits between Ghost of Sparta and God of War II. In Ghost of Sparta, he wasn't just an angry god taking out his anger against the other gods by rampaging through Greece. The end of Ghost of Sparta sets that up, and then in Betrayal, we see him rampaging through Greece with his Spartan army and the end of Betrayal foreshadows that Zeus would soon take action against Kratos, which then happens at the beginning of God of War II after Kratos and the Spartans rampage through Rhodes. Also, Ghost of Sparta takes place very shortly after God of War I. Honestly, it would just be easier if Santa Monica could just come right out and say that Betrayal is not canon anymore. And to note, he technically shouldn't have the Blade of Artemis after God of War I anyways because Ares stripped him of all of his weapons and magic during their fight.
How can you not understand? Kratos is SAVING Calliope when he leaves her! Persephone wants to destroy the whole world! Kratos could stay and perish with his daughter. But he loves her and wants her to survive in Elysium.... And he wants to save the rest of the world. He doesn't just leave her to continue killing! You have made tons of new fans not understand this really important point. The QTE is to drive home how difficult and heartbreaking it is for this father. Original Kratos is already unfairly maligned as a one dimensional psychopath by those who know nothing of him. ..
@berserk guts GoW: Ascencion used the max hardware capacity of PS3. The graphics were way better than the ones from GoW3, but the story was too predictible and very short. It was GoW1 prequel game, basically. I would not to buy GoW 2018 if i knew it was a prequel game aswell. A lot of people did the same with the 'GoW: Ascencion' game.

2:42 - I mean, to be fair, Kratos was desperate. Whether he remembers or not, he wanted to ensure his victory and saw no other way. His army is gone, the battle was all but lost, he's about to die, and obviously doesn't want to die and seeing no other option to continue living and fighting, and knowing the God of War would probably be best suited to help end a war in one's favor, Kratos was obviously desperate and out of options at that point. From his perspective, Ares, being the God of War, he saw that as the best option to keep himself from losing this war and dying, so he can continue fighting for the glory of Sparta. Regardless of his feelings about Ares and what he did to him and his brother, he would rather fight on than give up at this time in his life. He was desperate and made a costly decision knowing what Ares has done prior to the events of this war.
If Kratos Fought both Norse and Greek Pantheons at the same time (GOW3/GOWR only) Also i dont got a story for why he would, bc that would take too long. When Kratos Encounters Poseidon, he will also fight Thor. When Kratos Finds Helios, he will also find Tyr. When kratos encounters Hades, he will also fight Baldur. When Kratos Encounters and chases after Hermes, he will also fight Heimdall. When Kratos Finds Hephaestus, he will also find Freya. When Kratos Fights Hercules, he will also fight Magni/Modi.
Ares looks like Liam Nelson lol. Good bed story by the way, nice job 👍
I can't believe kratos killed hermes for his jordans💀
Great video! you forgot the Death of Magni and Modi from your board in the 2018 God of War
good stuff man
Imagine not knowing thor isn't freya's som
Amazing vid! Thanks for the recap
Great explanation
11:55 all I could hear was “Dream on Dream on Dream on” 😂
Bro literally forgot to cross of magni and mody
I have to give you props for not using a single dad joke or calling Atreus "BOY" xD
Excellent!
Original Kratos is already unfairly maligned as a one dimensional psychopath by those who know nothing of him. ..
Just to say that ascension is loved by some people out there.
I’m
One of them

GoW: Ascencion used the max hardware capacity of PS3. The graphics were way better than the ones from GoW3, but the story was too predictible and very short. It was GoW1 prequel game, basically. I would not to buy GoW 2018 if i knew it was a prequel game aswell. A lot of people did the same with the 'GoW: Ascencion' game.
@@eumesm9770 but God of War 2018 isn't a prequel game, but yes I wouldn't have brought it if it was one either.
I had a friend who never played through a single God of War game, but somehow got super hooked on God of War: Ascension multiplayer for months. So much so he literally became the top player and was well recognized in the online community. Shadowflame lol, Im a huge God of War fan, yet he had me saying "dude when are you gonna play a different game?" Lol
I don't know but, somehow I just love the old gameplay of God Of War
Awesome video 👌
So Modi and Magni aren't crossed out, huh? Weird. It's almost like no one did their due diligence lol
Forgot about Betrayal, loved it on my motorola razr. Fantastic video!
Bro i don’t think any upcoming god of war game , will be as agressive as god of war 3 , that game is just 🔥🔥🔥.
Imagine a god of war tv show or movie with Jason moma or someone like him to play kratos
the rock as kratos would be perfect
i think that’ll ruin it, it’ll only be nice to watch if it’s a show like “Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpions Revenge”
Just let Christopher Judge do it, he already voices Kratos and he's a great on-screen actor
@@sinners2100 I think they could make a Movie just need the correct actors and directors imagine if the writers from the series supernatural were to organise it and run off a structure simple to that show
Thank you for this
Cannot wait for this masterpiece to come out 😢
Please do not jinx another game.

If Kratos Fought both Norse and Greek Pantheons at the same time (GOW3/GOWR only)
Also i dont got a story for why he would, bc that would take too long.
When kratos fights Kronos, he will also fight Sigrun.
When Kratos fights Zeus, he will also fight Odin,
Freya isn't Thor's mother, Thor is half Giant
So kratos dead wife is also the mother of Thor, making him brother of Atreus which is Loki.
Loki is technically not Thors brother and loki is the same age as odin
@@lime1704 Yeah Loki and Thor being brother's was just a made up thing marvel did and wasn't a thing in the Norse mythology
@@arnildobizeque5514 No lol. Thor's mother is not Faye 😂 not even close
@@_audacity2722 ohh okay, i was just trying to understand where Marvel try to made Loki and Thor Brothers😂😂
Any reason you didn't cross magni and modi off?
God of War Chains was probably the greatest handheld games of all time.....incredibly inventive..great gameplay....great graphics (this is 2006 btw) and incredible controls!!!!
it would be pretty cool that one day these narrations are being told directly to atreus in a future game
Good job, boy.
Thanks for this!
Great! Would love to see the series go on with similar games, maybe assassins creed, etc...
15:08 Gaia wasn’t a titan. She was just, a thing. She was the mother of the titans.
Mother of titans, but not a titan. How?
@@EverythingIsMahogany If I remember correctly, she was classified as a "Primordial" in the original mythos. Primordials being those whose very existences made up reality as we know it.
Others that equaled her were her husband (Uranus, the eternal sky/co-parent of the titans/original cyclopes'/hecatoncheires), Tartarus (the inescapable realm within the underworld), as well as every other concept like light/darkness/time/fate/etc. etc.

Good video 🥰👍👌
Thank you for this video, I just started the 2018 God of War game to beat it before ragnorak comes out. I wanted to be caught up with the story this video is exactly what I was looking for
I still recommend getting God of War: Saga, or God of War: Collection/Origins & God of War: Ascension. As there was a lot of details left out. Though as a long story short, this was a great video.
@@trippytimesjosh355 but I mean you don’t need to know this stuff as even the creator of the game said you don’t need to

12:03 what ost is this? I remember hearing it multiple times but forgot.
@23:50 Freya isn't Thor's mother, his mother is actually a giant called Angrboda
That’s not thor’s mom either. Angrboda is the mom of the world serpent fenrir and hel
02:45 I'm honestly impressed by the time and effort you put into these videos, Keep it up!
The only god of war I played was chains of Olympus on my PSP many years ago and I loved it. I never had a playstation after that so I couldn't play the exclusives. Then this past month I realized god of war 2018 is on PC too which blew my mind. I started playing it and fell in love, then realized I can emulate all the other ones! So I stopped playing GoW 2018 and am currently playing the first GoW and working my way up to the latest games.
Hope you're still on that mission, man. I've played them all, and all the Greek ones multiple times each. All of them together tell a true masterpiece of a story, with Kratos being one of the greatest characters in gaming and in fiction in general.
Has a new video of the lore of Ragnarok come out yet?
I mean bro, the whole 8:00 event literally is part of kratos personality that leads up to god of war (2018). You can’t just dismiss that part as nothing more than him struggling to leave his child out of love, and then raisin Atreus with good intentions even though he may make mistakes parents make sometimes. Kratos has always meant well for his children ALL ALONG.
