I don’t think the minerals/artifacts light up only if you donate them. The wiki says they don’t need to be shipped or donated to the museum to be registered, and I know from personal experience. I have a play through where I still haven’t donated a Prismatic Shard, but it still appears in my collections tab, also with the description received after donating it, despite the actual item having the “Gunther can tell you more about this” tag.
Also if you guys use mods, theres a mod called Lookup Anything that essentially puts the wiki directly in the game, this way you can click in an specific item or npc and it shows data about it, what achievement is needed for, how many, selling price, who loves it, who likes it, the food or tools you can make, relationship status with numbers (including the pets) and more. Great video as always. Remember kids, money is the most important thing in life. Though community is also nice I guess. Btw there's a visual error at 2:09 when discussing friendship. You (correctly) say in the voiceover that you need 8 hearts with villagers to get the bonus, but the onscreen text says 10.
There is a way to check the pet's love. If you pet it when it is awake and has full relationship; for the first time after you fill the points, it will say something like "[pet name] seems content"
I just finished playing through my second year on my current farm and got all 4 candles. Thank god! I'm so bad as combat the skull caverns is difficult for me, have never made it to 100! Need that steady source of iridium.
Went in nearly completely blind on my first play through and got 2 candles. After about 300ish hours enjoying the game, I got into the wiki, ACTUALLY fished, and got the last 2 later. Been playing a new farm in prep for 1.6 on console and I’m far ahead of where I though and will be getting my 4 candle evaluation ezpz Year 3, Spring 1
the person who might enjoy stardew checkup is ME! I was literally wondering if there was a way to more easily see all that kind of stuff. Especially what I still need to craft and cook. I've never actually bothered to make it all the way to perfection so this will help me finally get a golden chicken lol I know I could just buy the new pages in 1.6 but that feels... lame OwO
Lowkey got the shrine done by complete mistake. Mainly cause I was friends with everyone, made hella my first 2 years, was married, max house, etc i forgot all abt the shrine lol
I don't think it's correct that the artifact page doesn't fill in until you donate the item. I have had multiple times that I found something (e.g. a prismatic shard) and it showed up on the collection page, even though I hadn't donated it yet. The Stardew Checkup site will correctly tell you which items are found but not donated.
Yeah ... I just always donate the first of every item except the prismatic shard and the dinosaur egg. Everything else goes straight to Gunther, and I never have to worry about trying to figure out what I'm missing.
I got all candles right after i got out from my house in the first year 3, i was so confuse but it was a good news for me, right now i just need perfection ending.
btw... there is a way to check friendship with your pet.... that is if you have the newest update 1.6... its in the tabs under animals as it shows all your animal friendship with you.
These are two glitches I found myself while playing On mobile, you can stack effect from food infinitely, like go to level 60 fishing and fill the bar to granted iridium quality fish And if your inventory is full and open a treasure chest in the mine and skull cavaren if you press the cancel you will get double the amount of the items in the chest. That all what I found myself so far
@@user-ll4mr7xi6l It’s true. My number one priority in a new run is to ensure I get 4 candles on grandpa’s shrine by the end of year 2. You get daily free iridium. Not much, between 2 and 5 or so a day, but it adds up. For my sort of chilled play style, it’s more than enough.
I recently got back into this game after 1.6. I got 2 candles. I'm going to have to summon him again but I'm watching this because I want to get the best outcome. I'm also checking some things, such as wine and pickle food prices. Fishing is still a pain even with the Carbon Fiber pole and being at level 4.
I think the all Artisan goods comes with an asterisk. I think you need to sell one of each artisan good, like you don't need to sell both grape wine and ancient fruit wine. But for things that have 2 different icons like regular cheese and goat cheese you do need both.
For the easiest way to get all 4 candles, do the following: Earn one million gold by the end of year 2 (not hard), get max level in all skills, complete the community center and watch the cutscene. That will give you the 12 points needed. Between farming, gathering resources, fishing, and fighting in the mines\skull cavern, you should be able to get all skills to ten in the first year, earn one million gold, and have finished the community center. You don't really even need to plan all that hard and still have a year to get even more points. By end of year 2, I usually have the listed above, gotten the skull cavern key, the rusty key, earned my pet's max friendship, catch every fish, finish the museum collection, and have gotten all 3 upgrades to my house (not always married by then). It sounds like a lot, but you have two years, so it's not nearly as hard as it sounds.
I've gotten this one by accident a few times but now I'd like to play without getting married because I hate my neighbors. I'm not confident I can make a million gold in 2 years though so I'll probably just go for catching every fish...
It has taken me four 3+years farm to understand the statue of perfection was an iridium ore producer and not just another decoration item. On my first two farms, i have found it on my decoration items chest. On my third farm, i haven't even bothered collecting it from grandpa shrine...
I never think of the grandpa. One day he came and gave me three candles and coupleo f seasosons later I got the 4th candle when I realized it was a rating and tried later.Ever since it is my almost only source of iridium.İt is so much that I dont feel a need to go skullcavern.
"it sounds like a threat" is very interesting to think about considering the games implied idea is to not stress about anything. although tbh almost every aspect of the game incentivises the player to do stress if you think about it ;) dont forget to water, be at the shop at the right time, manage your inventory, your energy, your gold. i never though about it that way, but now i get why i always feel like min maxing and planning out every day in advance ^^
Hi there! I know this post was ages ago but I’d like your take on fishing re iOS which everyone says is super hard and I agree; I actually think it got harder after the last update. If I’m playing on an iPhone do you think I’m doomed to never be able to fish? It seems odd for CA to make it so hard on purpose. You’re my fave SDV font of all knowledge!! Thank you 👏🏼.
Its crazy to me how some ppl DONT pet their animal and fill its water bowl every day. Like I have never not gotten the "your pet loves you" pop up in year 1
On my first playthrough I only got 3 candles, but on my second save, as a more experienced player, I didn't even bothered and got the 4 candles just like that.
I got 4 candles without even trying because I thought I’d fail, to the point that I thought I didn’t check for the statue until halfway through spring and missed out on so much iridium
I'm gonna do what grandpa does and leave a vague threatening note saying that I will return three years after my death.
And use a pingpong table(?) as my deathbed 🏓

Thank you for the guide, Sal ❤
Q: will you make a guide for combat?
Yes! I have it all scripted out and everything, it's just quite the doozy to record
Great video as always. Remember kids, money is the most important thing in life. Though community is also nice I guess.
Btw there's a visual error at 2:09 when discussing friendship. You (correctly) say in the voiceover that you need 8 hearts with villagers to get the bonus, but the onscreen text says 10.
lol guess there always has to be something
There is a way to check the pet's love. If you pet it when it is awake and has full relationship; for the first time after you fill the points, it will say something like "[pet name] seems content"
you just reminded me that i’m halfway through my 2nd year and should be better preparing
I am so happy I am one who keeps pushing you to do more, aka ty for another great video
Just like family to come back from the dead to judge you lol
the person who might enjoy stardew checkup is ME! I was literally wondering if there was a way to more easily see all that kind of stuff. Especially what I still need to craft and cook. I've never actually bothered to make it all the way to perfection so this will help me finally get a golden chicken lol
I know I could just buy the new pages in 1.6 but that feels... lame OwO
Lowkey got the shrine done by complete mistake. Mainly cause I was friends with everyone, made hella my first 2 years, was married, max house, etc i forgot all abt the shrine lol
i saw this a DAY after i got to year 3 on my farm!! good news, I GOT 4 CANDLES WITHOUT TRYING LOL
"It kinda sounds like a threat"
That's cause it is
I don't think it's correct that the artifact page doesn't fill in until you donate the item. I have had multiple times that I found something (e.g. a prismatic shard) and it showed up on the collection page, even though I hadn't donated it yet. The Stardew Checkup site will correctly tell you which items are found but not donated.
Yeah, I've had the same experience!
Yeah ... I just always donate the first of every item except the prismatic shard and the dinosaur egg. Everything else goes straight to Gunther, and I never have to worry about trying to figure out what I'm missing.
I got all candles right after i got out from my house in the first year 3, i was so confuse but it was a good news for me, right now i just need perfection ending.
i speedrun the game and grandpa lit 4 candles for me. im happy
WAIT I DIDNT'T KNOW YOU CAN FILL THE WATER BOWL SCARAMEOW I HAVE DEHYDRATED YOUU
btw... there is a way to check friendship with your pet.... that is if you have the newest update 1.6... its in the tabs under animals as it shows all your animal friendship with you.
These are two glitches I found myself while playing
On mobile, you can stack effect from food infinitely, like go to level 60 fishing and fill the bar to granted iridium quality fish
And if your inventory is full and open a treasure chest in the mine and skull cavaren if you press the cancel you will get double the amount of the items in the chest.
That all what I found myself so far
It's 0 AM Right Now, And I'm Writing This Into My Notebook So I Will Remember It When I Will Play Stardew With My Sister. Basic.
Grandpa’s shrine is the one thing I work hard to do with each new save because all of the free iridium makes life so much easier.
Agreed, so much less stressful than gearing up for Skull Cavern runs.
@@slwrabbits 100%.
The free what?!?!?! 😱
Fishing is a pain until you get to level 10!
I think the all Artisan goods comes with an asterisk. I think you need to sell one of each artisan good, like you don't need to sell both grape wine and ancient fruit wine. But for things that have 2 different icons like regular cheese and goat cheese you do need both.
I didn't even know this was something people actively tried to do, I just got it first time without any of this preparing
I’ve done 4 60+ hour playthroughs and always gotten the iri statue. I didnt even know you couldn’t get it until like last week
With the 1.6 patch you can now check the pets friendship under the animals tab.
Thank you for your guide videos it help me alot
On my third farm, i haven't even bothered collecting it from grandpa shrine...
not me accidentally getting all four candles on my first, blind playthrough of SDV
2:26
(I'm sure I'm not the first one here) But this has been updated! There's now a tab in the player menu that let's you check!
looks like i really love my cat cuz i got that message on spring year 2 😭
I never think of the grandpa. One day he came and gave me three candles and coupleo f seasosons later I got the 4th candle when I realized it was a rating and tried later.Ever since it is my almost only source of iridium.İt is so much that I dont feel a need to go skullcavern.
Fun fact: stardew checkup is compatible on mobile i tried that and it works
Awesome I'm just finishing up my second year and i didn't know what needed to be done to get this lol
2:54 LOL I'm on Sat. 6, I just watch to this part and pet my dog. The message show. Quite a coincidence
"it sounds like a threat"
is very interesting to think about considering the games implied idea is to not stress about anything.
although tbh almost every aspect of the game incentivises the player to do stress if you think about it ;)
dont forget to water, be at the shop at the right time, manage your inventory, your energy, your gold.
i never though about it that way, but now i get why i always feel like min maxing and planning out every day in advance ^^
i literally didnt know about grampas shrine until he showed up in a dream at the start of year three
You can check how many hearts you have with your pet by checking the animals tab in your inventory
Tbh i was so surprise of having 4 candles lit on my 2nd saved game (my first being my trial and error SDV)
You can see your pets friendship now!
Ahhh yes...in mobile stardew valley in years 3 grandpa come to you and all the candles will be lit...
