Being older now, with more to worry about, I am a much safer operator. I really enjoy your channel and you helped me make my decision to buy the RK25. Have a great day!
Hi Richard, It's interesting to compare tractors like this. Feature for feature I think you are right about the classes but price wise (though the 2025 is still severely lacking, especially for the price) it would be more similar to the ones you name. I looked at tractors for about 3-4 months before purchasing the RK25 and kept trying to find reasons not to choose the RK25 and in the end it fell to the Rural King. It handles anything we put in it, 1,100lbs no problem. 600 hrs now with no problems, except did have to have front axle seals replaces under warranty. But I'm sure was out fault for larger bucket. I own Landscaping company.
As someone shopping tractors, not sure how the Kioti 2610 isn't top of the list for best 25hp tractor. Has the best hydrolic system by far (aka can lift 1600lbs) Seems the only feature it doesn't have that people value is self leveling bucket.
I do agree with your comments. Is the 2610 25HP. Does it also weigh more? The self leveling bucket might be good for most, but I've heard they sacrifice lifting capacity - which seems to be the case with the summit. Have you heard?
I'm looking at that model now that you mentioned it. It's seems to be in a class closer to the RK37. The engine displacement is 25% more than engine in the RK25. I guess that means it can run at a lower RPM which also means more torque.
There is a video on you tube where a fella with a Branson 2515 fills a storage tote with water and picks it to full loader height with 2200 lbs which is its max advertised cap. I believe he said it was without extra tire ballast or rear weight. The Branson and now tym make excellent tractors. One thing I am curious about is the speed of the hydraulics.
If I was doing it over, I probably would have gone with the Branson (2515). It clearly is in a class of it's own. Kioti is pretty good too on the 2610. I am not disappointed but the Branson is the king of the front end.
That is correct. It may not be so obvious but a lot of the load on a pallet sits further away from the pivot point of the FEL by a lot. The forks also weigh twice as much where as the bucket is relatively thin steal. It's certainly an apples oranges comparison but still relative.
actually I made it myself - a piece of conduit and a scrap piece of banner. I made a could brackets with screws and put that up. The conduit poles can then slide in and out as I need them or remove for travel.
HI Barney, if you are getting a tractor, be sure to checkout the just released tractor canopy video. If your tractor doesn't come with a sunshade/canopy, I would highly recommend getting or making one.
at tractor supply when i was describing the summit tractor the little girl behind the register pointed to a zero turn and said this is the biggest tractor we have! lol!
The Summit Tractor is a rebadged Solis 26 made in India, I wasn't sure at first but was able to confirm that. I asked that very question on good works tractors video and was blocked? Very weird
that's strange to have it blocked, but doesn't surprise me anymore. I found the same thing. Almost like RK25 to the TYM25 where it's the same tractor with specified standard equipment. Still looks like a good tractor.
True. The Summit TX25 and Solis 26 are both made by ITL (International Tractors Limited) in India. Summit said themselves there are 18 brands of subcompact tractors, but only 8 companies behind them. Also note that they are near carbon copies of the Mahindra Max26 and all three use the same 1.3L Mitsubishi engine.
My rk37 lifted a 6-71 detroit diesel laying on its side with a set of forks, that's a real world test. Every bit of 2000 plus pounds. I had to put the backhoe on to keep the rear wheels on the ground.
I watch that video, pretty sure that weight was without any ballast INCLUDING RIM GUARD. Which any ballast makes a difference. Basically was a commercial for rim guard and summit. IMO. Should of redone lift after rim guard was added.
Probably so but I don't think that would have changed how much it could lift (unless it was already tipping) since it maxed out the hydraulics/cylinders. When I don't have ballast on the 3 point I can still pick up the same weight it's just about how stable it is, up until it actually tips. The Rimguard is very helpful and I think all tractors should probably include it if possible.
I do think it would lift 1200 lbs. The problem would lie in having enough ballast in the back so it doesn't tip. The backhoe works well for this. Would it lift to full height - probably not.
.. yeah Summit does come with a lot of bells and whistles I'm leaning towards a midsize tractor minimum 1800 lbs lifting capacity along with toolbox and Sun Shade did hear either a dog on a leash or in a small pen might have more peace in the valley to trust the dog and let it run around God Bless Be Well ...
Hmm must be the neighbors dog. I don't have one. I have cats you can have. They were left here when the kids moved out. I would probably get the Branson or Kioti 2610 if I were doing it over again. Have you investigated which you plan on?
Glad you liked it! I understand why Courtney is pushing them - it's obvious that he is financially benefiting or invested in Summit. That could backfire on him if he's not upfront about. Summit has not put out their pricing, that I have seen, and if they are pushing them in the same price range or above as RK, they better have similar specs. What's the point of having a third function kit if your tractor can't lift much more than the 450lb grapple?
Since everyone has an opinion I will give mine. I think Deere Tractors are way overpriced. I’ve seen advertised prices on a 3032e well over 30k. Seriously? Not worth it. I bought 2 LS Tractors, no problems no regrets. One Deere 5045 50HP. I would buy an RK if a dealer were close by or TYM. As this video states there’s no comparison with the RK and Summit. Hands down RK is far better in my opinion. Honest review.
that's a good question. I believe they are in exactly the same range. I haven't been able to confirm that yet, just by watching the videos in context of GWT. The "standard" features is exactly why many people went with the RK. With Summit pushing that more, that's great competition and benefits us all!
@@PeaceIntheValley the rk really looks like a frame size up from a “sub compact” hp doesn’t really mean it’s the same, many manufactures make 25 hp tractors in various frame sizes. Although impressive, without seeing the rk next to another subcompact for size comparison, I’m not sure it’s apples to apples otherwise. I don’t think I’d like the summit just based on the older joystick. It looks chunky and not ergonomical. But the rk joystick looks good.
that's true on size. It's just the first thing that seems to get mentioned in comparisons. I have volunteered to take my RK25 to GWT for a comparison, but I haven't heard back.
@@PeaceIntheValley GWT had the Summit posed next to the 1025R in a recent video, the Summit is physically more like the 2025R than the 1025R. The summit is larger with larger tires than the 1025R. And much like the 2025R has the same size loader and bucket as the 1025R. Perhaps the RK is more 2025R / Summit sized?
Well, because of your video, I am now going to go to a Rural King and check out their tractors. Went to Kioti/Mahandra dealer and they are very very expensive. The Summit looks good for a new tractor but looks a bit small, maybe their next one will be bigger. I just found a Rural King not far away and will go check it out. thanks.
It's a good tractor - one of the best. If you want to save and still get good tractors - you might want to checkout some local farm auctions. Seems you can get some real heavy 80-2000's tractors for good deals.
My thinking is these new brands seem like great deals, well equipped and powerful even PTO power but with so many consumers loyal to a brand and not much will change their minds, how long before a new brand pitters out and you are stuck with a machine that you can no longer get parts for or similar scenarios?
You are right on. That is the question that each person has to answer. My reasoning for RK was that TYM is a major brand that has equivalents so even if RK kills the line the TYM dealer should be able to get parts. My dad got a 90's John Deere that sometimes he can't get parts for. I do think this issue is in every brand - just how much? I don't know. It's certainly a gamble.
I think the question is... of the two which class to they fall into? I have always compared the RK25 to the 2 series JD. I think the Summit tractor would probably relate closer to a JD 1 series. So maybe that's how they get to that claim, which may be true. To me, the best in class is the best bang for your buck. I feel that the RK25 is that. At least to me. All that just to agree with your statement. The best tractor for you is yours.
That is a good question - Which class? 25HP doesn't equate to the same/similar spec tractor and neither does price. Size the Summit looks similar to the RK25 - in fact when I initially saw it, I thought it was another made by TYM. Thanks for watching!
RK25 is definitely a larger tractor than the 1025r or B2680, or whatever that Kubota is called now. It would probably be better compared to the 2025r or b2601. I have no idea about what the summit is truly comparable to.
My 454 has been great, thanks for sharing this. I will lift a 2x4 bay block on forks, bare ass tractor for anyone who doubts. That should be around 2600 lbs.
I always run rear ballast & have rim guard, but my b2301 has surpised me several times with lifting building materials off of 16 wheeler trailers. It'll also does well with round bails as well which push close to 900lbs, but it's not doing it at full height. Thats what I use the L345 for
If your going by horsepower and not Fran size the kioti ck2610 would destroy everything at over 1800lbs at the pivot pins, frame size/weight and loader hydraulics are the main determining factor for lift capacity not horsepower
Hey Joshua, I would contact them at least once a week or ask them if you can get yours from another store. I'm seeing people on the FB group getting them in two weeks. I hope you get it soon! thanks for watching!
Good video I really like the looks of the summit tractor and all the bells n whistles that it comes with but I have a Mahindra 1626 that is rated for 1560 on loader and it will lift 1840 pounds with only loaded tires but only moved the logs 20 ft. You also have a very nice tractor has a lot of extras and if it does everything you need it to do then I believe it's best in it's class for the owner as you mentioned. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun God bless
I think the Summit would compare better to the RK24 with frame and tire setup and expected lift capacities. Having said that, the RK25 is cheaper than the Summit and appears to have all the same features with larger tires at a lower price point. I'd move up to the RK25 before getting the Summit if those were the only two choices. Personally I have a Mahindra 2638, because it was the best lift capacity and frame size for tractors sold near me in my price range. I like to step up to a 60/75hp for more lift, but the price point isn't there for me.
I have a rk25 33 hours and I agree mine is strong. Was worried after I ordered it that it would be to small but it does what I ask of it. Had a 5ft. Bushhog before I got it pulled it with a Ford 4000 40 hp tractor rk25 impressed me did fine. Only thing I can compare it to. Have nothing to prove.
I wouldn't say that I have anything to prove either. It's just when I see videos like this and see everyone say how it's the best, I want to remind people to keep their options open because there are a lot of good machines out there. People may not look at RK because it's a store brand, but it really is a good tractor - even with the problems I've had. Thanks for watching!
And by the way like ya'll videos I'm new to ya'lls channel. Watched the one where it broke ya'll was taking it to get it fixed. How did dealer treat you on that fix?
HI Mike, I'm glad you got to see our videos on YT. You might want to check out the latest video where the tractor is maxed out. The dealer treated us fine and they said it could be fixed but I didn't want to wait the time (months or more) that it would take to get the transmission so I ended up fixing the tractor and putting in a 5/16 steel reinforced gusset plate on the back end. It really strengthened up the tractor.
I like your comment on what you have is the best for you. That being said I too am awaiting my RK25. I have other sub and compact tractors. Dollars for dollar, feature for feature the RK25 is hard to beat. I’ve 3 wheeled my sub compact with the loader, not pleasant. My fault as I had removed the ballast box to fall store the tractor. One last minute job with the bucket! Stupid is as stupid does. Ugh. Use ballast people. Please!
HI Stanley, I don't need to tell you my thoughts on the tractor - you've seen it even when I had the failure on it trans housing. So I'll ask you about yours. Did you get hurt when the tractor tipped? Did you raise the bucket too high? Did it damage anything more than your tractor's feelings :) ? Thanks for watching!
@@PeaceIntheValley No damage. No one was hurt. Just too much load on the bucket with no rear ballast. I was trying to move a piece of equipment using the loader w chains on the bucket. An LS MT 125. I’ll probably keep it even after the RK25 finally comes in. I’m up to my ass in tractors. I’m old and they are my current “thing”. I’m particularly fond of early 50’s Farmall’s. Cultivision models. Also a bunch of Asian compacts. Trying to thin them out! Lots of enjoyment.
thanks for the comment. I don't think that's quite correct. The pallet forks weigh over 300lb according to the RK website. The bucket, IMO, is a little over 250lb. Not tpo much different. But the specs do tell something. The breakout lift, according to TYM, is over 2000lb. The lift up to the highest point is over 1300 lbs. That's nearly twice as much as the Summit by the specs. I still think the Summit is a good tractor but there is no way that it could lift the pallet of paper, especially cause the weight is further out than the bucket.
@@PeaceIntheValley I'm in serious doubt the RK loader bucket weighs more tha 135lbs; why = l had ONE, AT 54"there is NOT much there"! Have a 72"HD @ 370lbs, a 66"LD @208 lbs, & a LD 78" @245lbs .Were as loader bucket's are NOT that heavy, Unless they are HEAVY-DUTY.The RK loader bucket is DEFINITELY NOT HEAVY DUTY. My "Crusher" 4000lb 48" pallet forks weigh 325 lbs. It just might be time to get your scale out,- since there is a LOT of weight variance between types-brands of loader buckets & pallet forks. Your pallet forks look heavy and a little "over-kill" for the RK25 Tractor loader. Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio, Best wishes with all your endeavours.
@@donaldstrishock3923 Donald I believe you. The bucket doesn't weight that much. I can move it by myself. I also have the piranha bar which adds another 45lbs or so.
I still think the RK25 is way better than summit. Both of them are Deere killers though. I just don't understand how JD gonna stay in business when their naked stock tractor cost more than these loaded machines.
The biggest reason I went with Deere was the dealer network and 0% financing and 10 year warranty by the time I would’ve paid financing I would’ve paid more for the rk tractor than mine I definitely looked into rk but was a little sour I had an older one and had a lot of problems trying to find a hyd pump wound up selling it of course this was several years ago
A dealer network - with available parts - is a top concern! You and many others agree, and I do too. RK really does have an opportunity to do this as well, but they don't really specialize in anything so it probably can't happen.
And getting it a half inch off the ground on GWT’s video shouldn’t count as lifting it off the ground. Especially when that is going to drift down digging into the ground not long after driving.
I didn't see the self-leveling feature on the RK FEL, standard; standard on the Summit. I didn't see any rear work lights on the RK, standard; standard on the Summit. I didn't see the 3rd function for the FEL on the RK; standard on the Summit.. I didn't see the rear tires with RimGuard standard; standard on the Summit. Any RK dealers that even provide service for the RK tractors, don't have high-quality tech's on their staffs, because tractors are just an added retail item, and their support is lacking in my area. (I don't have a Summit dealer within 50 miles of me, either, but I know that going in; RK is crap for support, IMHO). Because you own an RK, you can defend it, but the size, weight, and standard features of the Summit look much better to me than the RK-25.
In response to your "standard" features you should probably look a little harder before you make outright wrong statements. Rear work lights are standard, and they are super bright at night. Rear remotes are standard. Rim Guard is standard. The third function kit is not standard, however you can order it with the tractor and it will come that way. Did you know that the ROPS light guard is standard on the RK but not the Summit? Or how about, heavier lift capacity, 2 cup holders, bluetooth speakers, wireless phone charger too? Does most of these really matter? Does it make the RK better? NO. I'm not even really sure what is "standard" or not when the tractor comes with what you order it with. Either way you pay for it. I'm not sure what brought this on. I compare the two and then say get what works for you. If I was starting over would I buy the RK25? Probably not. I think it's a great tractor, and I would choose it over the Summit, again. BUT, my first choice would be the Branson or the Kioti. Thanks for watching!
kioti will also beat it, i went to tractor supply and asked about summit they looked at me tilted their head and looked puzzzled like my dog when he is trying to understand me.
Those are Great Quality Machines. They HAVE a THREE RANGE TRANSMISSION , only "kubogy" has this VERY IMPORTANT ATTRIBUTE in its weight class. Plus it's BIG Engine is "class" leading( tractors 2000lbs or less) @ 1.49 liters instead of usual 1.3 liters. & its hydraulic system is top notch. My "only" apprehension is that the loader " Lacks; amplifying bucket-linkage assembly's "= lots of articulation & a second stearing brake pedal. Have Two Massey-Ferguson's & a "Kubogy " tractors. Just think this "New-fangled " Indian "Twack-tor " is feeble & just had a lot of "gingerbread " & plastic--- great fer the first-time home-lowners & salesmen.

I'm looking at that model now that you mentioned it. It's seems to be in a class closer to the RK37. The engine displacement is 25% more than engine in the RK25. I guess that means it can run at a lower RPM which also means more torque.
@@PeaceIntheValley the 2610 has 25 horsepower the RK37 has 35. Not sure why you can’t compare apples to apples.
Another consideration is the T25 can be transported on a single axle trailer, the 2610 cannot without risk of bending an axle.
Makes a big difference lifting with a set of pallet forks opposed to loading the bucket
That is correct. It may not be so obvious but a lot of the load on a pallet sits further away from the pivot point of the FEL by a lot. The forks also weigh twice as much where as the bucket is relatively thin steal. It's certainly an apples oranges comparison but still relative.
Great video 👍
I noticed your canopy on your rk25 where did you find this attachment? Was it a hard install?
actually I made it myself - a piece of conduit and a scrap piece of banner. I made a could brackets with screws and put that up. The conduit poles can then slide in and out as I need them or remove for travel.
perfect video, been waiting for someone to call bs
I haven’t lifted anything with a actual weight on it, but it lifts everything I ask it to do. Love my RK25 (Rocky).
Rocky, Ha! Good name for a tractor. Ours is Rex (with the grapple on). Thanks for watching!
My rk37 lifted a 6-71 detroit diesel laying on its side with a set of forks, that's a real world test. Every bit of 2000 plus pounds. I had to put the backhoe on to keep the rear wheels on the ground.
I lifted a large block last winter not too long ago with the forks. It was heavy but not quite what the diesel would be! good job!
Weight difference between the forks and the bucket would be a couple hundred pounds. Branson and kioti lift a lot as well
most certainly. the forks weigh quite a bit more according to the specs.
Do you think that your tractor could lift an Ibc tote full of firewood? Weighs about 1200#.
I do think it would lift 1200 lbs. The problem would lie in having enough ballast in the back so it doesn't tip. The backhoe works well for this. Would it lift to full height - probably not.
..
yeah
Summit does come with a lot of bells and whistles
I'm leaning towards a midsize tractor
minimum 1800 lbs lifting capacity
along with toolbox
and Sun Shade
did hear either a dog
on a leash or in a small pen
might have more peace in the valley
to trust the dog
and let it run around
God Bless
Be Well
...
Hmm must be the neighbors dog. I don't have one. I have cats you can have. They were left here when the kids moved out.
I would probably get the Branson or Kioti 2610 if I were doing it over again. Have you investigated which you plan on?
Watched the other video the other day and was thinking the same thoughts glad you made this video .
Are they the same frame size? I believe the additional standard features are nice if the price point is still the same.
that's a good question.
I checked out that Kioti tractor and you are right! Specwise it's more similar to the RK37.
That RK looks bigger than the summit, i seen a video where a 1025r was next to a summit and they were essentially the same size, just larger tires
Still waiting on the RK25. I order it 4 months ago.
Hey Joshua, I would contact them at least once a week or ask them if you can get yours from another store. I'm seeing people on the FB group getting them in two weeks. I hope you get it soon! thanks for watching!
Thanks, they have called me a few times and had told me from the beginning that it would be a few months. Hopefully in the next month I will get it.
I waited 4 months also and 1 more for my backhoe.
BEST IN CLASS means which tractor do i make the most commission on! i trust you received no reply from GWT?
Good video I really like the looks of the summit tractor and all the bells n whistles that it comes with but I have a Mahindra 1626 that is rated for 1560 on loader and it will lift 1840 pounds with only loaded tires but only moved the logs 20 ft. You also have a very nice tractor has a lot of extras and if it does everything you need it to do then I believe it's best in it's class for the owner as you mentioned. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun God bless
You are exactly right. Are you happy with your Mahindra?
Palette forks against a bucket?
Of course, it's not exact comparison since the forks weigh quite a bit more than the bucket, but it still gives the idea.
@@PeaceIntheValley Right on Buddy.
Interesting!
That's great Glad you got it fixed even better than it was. Yes love the Mahindra it's did everything I've ask of it since 2017
I like your comment on what you have is the best for you.
Pallet forks weigh less than a bucket if the summit had forks I bet it would lift it
thanks for the comment.
@@PeaceIntheValley oh ok I didn't realize that forks were so heavy , it would be interesting to see the two tractors side by side vs each other
I would like to do that too. GWT has not responded to me about bringing my tractor up there to compare.
I completely agree. JD, IMO, is really behind the 8-ball right now. The only thing JD has going for it is their wide network and their name.
What!? This is a much bigger tractor, different class alltogether
what defines the class? Honest question because the video I was going off of was stated multiple times "Best in Class"
Rk25 is one size larger , a true comparison would be the rk24 which has a 772 pound lift spec which is very comparable to the summit . FJB
And getting it a half inch off the ground on GWT’s video shouldn’t count as lifting it off the ground. Especially when that is going to drift down digging into the ground not long after driving.
I completely agree. I think that's what triggered me to make this video.
914 is less than 1050 bud 🤔
I don’t trust much to Good works tractor ! He looks kind of cocky !
kioti will also beat it, i went to tractor supply and asked about summit they looked at me tilted their head and looked puzzzled like my dog when he is trying to understand me.
Still ain't a Massey Ferguson 1526
that's for sure!
