@@dieyuhhh6703; It was not painful AT ALL. This was my first time piercing with a needle (i have 4 other lobe piercings, pierced with a gun) and I have to say: it did not feel as painful with a needle as it did with a gun! My ear didnt feel as stung as it did with the gun. Also needle is much better for your ear (research it!).
I got my helix pierced 6 days ago. It did bleed a tiny, tiny bit the first four days (not a lot - and i didn't do anything expect rinsing it off with water and spraying with the salt water I bought were I got my piercing). Right now I forget that it's even there, because it dont hurt at all. Expect when i accidentally touch it or something like that. Its healing extremely well and i cant wait for it to compltely heal so i can try different jewlery. Oh! And something i'm so grateful for is piercing the ear i do not sleep on. Because of this, my sleeping has not been ruined by my new piercing. Its not recomended to sleep on your new piercing. You could sleep with a travel pillow or something, if you do pierce the ear you sleep on. Lots of tips on the internet.
I truly (!!) recommend going to a professional piercer and doing lots of research (!!!), because the healing time is a loong process, and having knowledge about how to care for your fresh piercing and also what to expect after getting one is important.

So I keep hearing different things when it comes to aftercare (was told this by 2 different professionals when I got my industrial done both times) the first one said to spray it with the aftercare spray they gave me twice a day and to not dry it off, and if it bleeds at all to just run water on my ear in the shower with a gentle stream so it could soften the dried blood and just let it rinse off by itself, I was also told to not move or touch it at all, not even use a qtip to clean it because it could disturb the healing process and take even longer to heal. The second person I went to told me to spray it with the aftercare but to use a qtip to clean around it but I was told by the first one that the fibers from the qtip could get stuck and possibly lead to infection. I have no idea which I should listen to because my ear healed fine both times, I was just stupid and took the piercing out for too long, hence why I had to get it done a second time. I wanna get a helix and I watched this video to see if there was anything else I needed to know but it’s all pretty much the same for the industrial so I know the healing time may be painstaking. And I know that price differs between states and different piercing/tattoo shops but how much do helix’s cost?

3 years ago I got my cartilage pierced and I got it done with a hoop. I did not have any complications, any infections none of that. But the healing took 2 years. I do not believe it was bc of the hoop I slept on it all the time and I think sweat and just pressure will prolong it. I took well care of it, starting out with a hoop personally was so much easier to take care of then a stud because you can see the start and end of the hole with a hoop and a stud is on top of the holes, it’s not very easy to clean. I plan to get a conch piercing next, and even if I’m told not to do a ring like I was with this one it was much easier then a stud .

@@briannarobichaud9686 it’s a bit more painful than lobes, but for me it didn’t hurt at all while being pierced (obviously pain is different for everyone).
The only bit that kinda hurt was when they exchanged the needle for the jewellery. But still, that wasn’t that painful.
I think with low pain tolerance, you’ll be absolutely fine.
My advice is to not over think it as that WILL make it worse
I also recommend getting a stud instead of a ring first, rings take longer to heal and also leaves the hole in your ear bent rather than straight because rings are obviously curved not straight
Good luck if you get it though, I’m sure it’ll look amazing:)))

I pierced my helix last month but I didn’t know that it took so long to heal. And I can’t wear it too school. So I’m going to keep on getting put into seclusion every day until I get excluded for about a month. And I will do online lessons and it will give my ear more time to heal🤦‍♀️I should’ve checked before I did it because there is no chance I’m taking it out

My work place has a only stud piercings for lobes policy, but I know like 3 ppl who have nose piercings and wear them everyday to work. And one my favorite coworkers had 7 piercings in each of her ears and plans to get a eyebrow piercing. My general manager and my district both have lip piercings. XD so the policy has kind of flown out the window and it's kind of surprising they have it as a policy when the customers really don't care or they'll compliment us all the time on our piercings. I have my lobes and snake bite done. And just recently got my helix done in 2 places on my left ear and am planning 2 more for the left. I haven't gotten my right ear done, but plan to get the 4 as well. Cheek dimples as well. I had so many ppl say oh that's gonna hurt so bad, your gonna cry like a baby. I didn't even feel when my piercer did it. I felt her push on my ear twice and heard needles fall and her go "alrighty." I was literally over here like "wait were done?" i should have just gotten all 4 done if this was the case. Lmao. So far I love my piercer she's done amazing with all of them. And she seems super excited about doing my cheek dimples done at some point. XD

If I wasn’t taking a shower how would I clean it because I’ve been using clean fingers to just rub a bit with dial soap but I don’t know if I’m doing it right. I don’t wanna use other products like salt or wound wash as it’s not what was recommended to me but any cleaning tips? I’m an impulsive person so I just got it to get it.

Please help :( I went to a place to get my helix pierced and 2 months down the line of the healing process I take a picture of it and it looks skew . With the front being higher up and the back being significantly lower. I message another place that does piercings and they say it’s wrong and i should get it re-done and I must take out the piercing to let it heal. I took it out and emailed my piercer why it’s at an angle.the piecer says that it’s so that when I get a hoop it’ll lie well on my ear. My ear looks like the standard normal ear theres nothing irregular on it. Is this fine , or should I get it re-done because I’ve seen people saying that it’s bad to have it pierced at an angle .
