Looking great! I just rooted out and insane amount of trees this past Spring. A lot of them will be going into the ground next Spring. I got lucky and.won a batch of 10 different types of cuttings from Figbid. They then stuck two extra surprise cuttings in there! For $60 worth of cuttings I now have…. I-258 Genovese Nero AF Ronde de Bordeaux Adriatic JH Violet de Sollies Col de Dam Blanc (several) Col de Dam Gris Galacia Negra (two) Smith LSU Purple Negronne
@@gapey Thanks! Most of them have survived. There were two that bit the dust when I went on vacation for over a month. Just put all of them in a spot with shade during the hot bits of they day. I look forward to putting them in-ground and in large pots around the garden and up on the porch. Some will be for trade with local folks as well. Especially down the road when I make clones of the clones.
There seems to be a fine line between under and over watering! Our weather has been pretty up and down this year. It got down to 39 the other night. I just posted my August Fig update!
I'm excited. I started our 4 in ground figs 3 years ago. First year we got maybe 15 figs, last year we got maybe 30. This year, I have over 100 on just one tree! They are LOADED! I started 6 cuttings last year, and while they are growing well, no figs.
@@gapey Celeste. The Chicago hardy and Brown Turkey, which everyone recommended, haven't produced but 5-6 figs combined previously, are also quite loaded this year. Just this evening, I noticed 2 of my cuttings I planted last year have a few figlets! Olimpian and Yellow Long Neck. Hopefully they have time to ripen.
I was given a smallish tree 3 yrs ago.didnt do anything, stayed small.last yr I didn't pay attention to it.the virus had my total attention. This yr the Polar Blast killed it.anf lo and behold on June I noticed it coming back., At present day it's taller than me 5'5".and producing.
I noticed the same thing about my RBD trees too! The figs are much smaller and less compared to many other varieties I have. Wondering if this is common in the Seattle area this year. Thank you for the video.
Yeah I just realized that recently. I think I knew it before but forgot about that until this week. Ah well. Hopefully will get lots of brebas next year.
@@ryanp2492 Yeah the main crops are what I was pinching off. I'm not going to pinch off all the main crop figs. I want to get some figs this year and most of these are going to remain in the containers so I don't want them to get much bigger than they already are.
@@ryanp2492 Oh you were talking about pinching off the main crop of the DK's. Yeah that makes sense. I didn't realize you posted in reply to Gabriel's comment.
I use IV Organics fertilizer. I make a tea about every other week with it and pour a cup or so in each container. I don't fertilize the in ground fig as much but put a bunch of soil conditioner in the planting hole when I planted it.

Wow that's quite the score! Some nice varieties you got there. Good luck with the rooting.

Be sure and water them daily in the hot temperatures

Good Info. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!

Sounds like a winner! What variety has the most?

@@thetobaccoguy1751 I've heard good things about yellow long neck. I wouldn't mind having that one.

@@jesusramos1440 You can see how my in ground fig bounced back in the last month in my new update. :)
Awesome........! My figs are doing great too in pots and in ground Im just too lazy to video them hahahaaa
Aw would love to see your figs!

I think I heard some other people were having RdB slow this year. Glad you enjoyed the video.
I don't know if anyone's told you but the desert king main crop won't ripen without a fig wasp Or hand pollination
Yeah I just realized that recently. I think I knew it before but forgot about that until this week. Ah well. Hopefully will get lots of brebas next year.
Also, recommend you pinch the main crop figs off so you don't waste energy and tree can focus on Brebas and new growth.

The unknown could be a Osborne prolific
Hmm not sure. Don't those get purple skinned fruits?
Nice update. Great looking plants. I like the dark figs, the sweetness in the green I don't like too much.
Thanks. I like em all! I'm not picky. :)
Nice
Thanks :)
Fig trees looking great ! They sure do love this hot weather that’s for sure . One day I’ll start a nice varieties of fig trees like yours
Thanks Rob, you definitely should! They're so good.
Just keep them watered daily in this heat.
Damn. The baby figs on my fig trees are smaller than the size of a dry raisin right now, probably the same size as some of my grapes. LOL
I'm about to pull out my grapes. They've done poorly the past 3 years.
Do you out any fertilizers or compost to the fig trees? I have some bigger fig trees which dont have a single fig on them.

@@gapey is that a 2-2-2 fertilizer?
@@deeshaphalak1857 It's 13-14-13. I dilute the tea with additional water before applying.
