Hey Mike! the last 4 days I have been trying to get the EMPI quiet muff to fit . the flanges don,t set flat and blows the gaskets . I should had cut them off and bolt them to the motor and tack weld them then weld them . I tried to guess and on the #4 I over compensated . What a nightmare ? They did not use a jig ........
yea had the same problem. mine still sounds like crap....Sometimes I have had to double gasket. My single tip had to cut and weld it back like 1 inch so it would not hit the apron. I also had to cut and weld the heat riser tubes which was even harder. Mount the muffler and tack them in place. OMG....Stuff is total crap now.
The empi header muffler can be problematic... I have had two where the exhaust flanges were welded on incorrect (one caused the muffler to look like a kick stand 😅). I install the header, then check the flange for flat and if I need to cut and weld the muffler side to "clock" for muffler location. After this bit of fun, the exhaust is fairly good 😉.
@@TheDasbull we always had some problems with extractors not fitting. Yea these are special. But the only affordable ones that arent merged. AA merged fit ok. but no heater boxes.
I assume German Folks build the flawless Cars. Famous People there, Dean Kirsten, Shin Watanabe. Hefler & Sons Bug? Wasnt it the one Ron Fleming has the Accident with? Is it rebuild? Greetings from Hamburg/ Germany.
I am not sure on that. was talking to Ron for a bit and his son was there. I think Ron is retiring from racing. So I asked his sone if he was going to take it on but he is into motorcycles. Not sure if the car is rebuild I would need to ask.
Cheers Mike.
From London.
Thanks for the shout-out.. Valley-V-Dubz
