seeeding rings //I build a enging to run 275,000 miles all highway . so I use heavy cross hatching and use crome rings they seeding at 300 miles , and then run 300,000 .becaus I never have the money//they burn light oil for 200 miles and its all good to last // because I never need to 2 rebuild it 1 more time as I drive 100 miles a day
Mike, can you share why you opted to not go with the shortened connecting rods in your next video? Was it just about price or convenience given you found a set of stock rebuilt rods? Would the shortened rods have eliminated the need for shims?
Should be a cool build, can't wait to see it come together. I got a Brazilian 1600 leaking like a there's no tomorrow, I want to have it rebuilt. Does brother's rebuild engines, or are they strictly a machine shop? Thanks
Hey Mike, quick question using infrared temp sensor it says my 36hp is 566 on the left head and 318 on the right. Even if the temp isn’t exactly accurate how can one side be so hot? Worried about this. Sump plate measured 278. Thanks
also check for vacuum leaks. probably one or the other and or both. Even 318 is pretty hot. above normal. 260 to 300 is more normal. Head. sump should not be above 212 or something like that. under 200 is good.
Hay Mike, We are using the 40 horse fan on the build, it fits perfectly 👍🏽 There’s way more blades on it too.
yea I knew there was a better one...
Can't wait to see her fire up.
Awesome thank you for your help and opinion on how it works. 👍👍👍👍👍
Great stuff; add an Abarth style muffler and you should be golden. Looking forward to seeing the car driving with that new powerplant.
We may be making exhaust. I am not sure. Getting dies for 1.25 for the tubing bender.
Thanks for the info
I have 1959 chassis Came with a 36hp engine it would be kick ass to build this engine

I am not sure they make them.

yea they do a great job. Also contact Performance workshop in riverside. Greg does a great job too.
my question was what were the final numbers I don’t wanna be nosy .everybody says I squeak when I walk so every penny counts .
Why didn't the machine shop bake or boil the case ?
I did it at the house and am finishing cleaning it now.

way way too hot.....something is wrong there. probably too lean. check main jet. probably need a 122.

Do you know the oil booster spring from empi is wise or will even work with the 36hp case?
Will 4 oz cerakote sufficient enough to treat the case?
You can use Bonderite M-CR 1201 which is a similar gold chem treatment to the factory back in the day.
Should be. Using a Mini gun....does not need to be very thick. will use adhesion promoter probably.
Do you recommend using the oil relief oil pump cover or without on the 26mm oil pump for that kit?
Isnt the Case from a 356?
I think the 36 and the 356 are the same cases. from the A models. But I am not totally sure on that.
356 cases are three part unlike the VWs that are two part.
