I've just made my first foldable phone purchase. I got $1000 off the Z Fold 4 over bill credits however I definitely appreciate the Pixel Fold. I have the Pixel 7 and the Pixel line up is outstanding 👍😎
J I appreciate you being real man. I feel like you really test this products out and speak your mind about it. Your opinions have definitely made me make the best purchase decisions for my teach needs .
rather we feel a certain way about this or not is irrelevant: the fact that an argument can be made that a flagship foldable can have a camera that can stand toe to toe with any of the pixel's flagship camera is extremely impressive 😎opinion is very subjective, best words ever 🤗😎
Humbly disagree about your comment regarding the Microsoft Surface Duo. The device is *PERFECTLY* proportioned. The Duo is designed around one key feature that is completely missing from the Pixel Fold: A digital pen. Both screens on the Duo have an optimal 3:2 aspect ratio. As a long time Duo user, the screens need to be precisely as wide and tall as they are for a great pen experience. If Google would have designed the Pixel Fold around using a digital pen, they would have came to the same conclusion. The Pixel Fold is not the same device as the Duo, and making the Duo the size of the Pixel Fold would have led to a compromised, lesser experience.
That is why you have warranties, and in any case, as far as I can see there are few. Samsung has loads but now replaces them straight away to avoid bad PR but looking on eBay there are many Galaxy Folds with busted displays. Also, Samsung has announced free replacements of screen protectors due to thousands failing early. Most people buying these understand that they will not be perfect and are not worried as Consumer Law will protect them and OEMs will replace them without too much of an issue as long as they have not been misused.
@@ahaimes6320 warranties or not, it is increasing and bad. Displays are failing 1 to 3 days into use. Regardless of a warranty, this is becoming a problem that they seeing to have to tend to.
I can go to my local Metro PCS and get the Pixel 6a for under $100 with taxes included but I don't bother to. Truth is, I haven't been into the Pixels in 5 years. I thought Pixels started to lose their luster after the Pixel 3. Ever since Google decided to use Exynos for their Tensor chips, I'm like hell no. Not going back. Weaker battery life efficiency. Not the best for retro gaming emulation. And ever since the Pixel 6, we no longer have the unlimited storage saver option to upload videos and photos on Google Photos. Only recently has the Pixel Fold interested me but not for $1800 and a Tensor G2 that a $500 Pixel 7a has. So I'll wait when Google uses TSMC foundries over Samsung's. That will not happen until the Pixel 11 series and Pixel Fold 4. Will we even get a Pixel Fold 4 by then? What if the Pixel Fold 1 and 2 flop like the Surface Duos did? We only got two gens of the iPhone minis. My favorite Pixel a remains the 4a. The smallest and had headphone jack. But only Snap 730G, no 5G, and no wireless charging. The last decent-sized Pixel was the 5. Anything under 147 mm in height and 75 mm in width is one-handed usable. Didn't make the cut. Pixel 8 will be 150 mm in height. Pixel Fold is the shortest Pixel in 3 years since the 4a and 5 were released in 2020. Maybe I'm biased, but I still think the Pixel 3 from 2018 is the GOAT Pixel. It looks like a Galaxy S8 from 2017 or smaller version of the Pixel 2 XL but with a better chip, nicer display, and wireless charging. I still use mine almost daily after 4 years to upload my favorite movies and TV shows onto Google Photos using the storage saver option. It's unlimited uploads. And the internal audio is stellar with my Sony WH-1000XM4. I use it to watch shows like Andor and House of the Dragon and the sound is movie theater-like. I still use my 3 to play Dreamcast games. PS2 and GameCube is reserved for my Flip3. After the Pixel 5a 5G, we never got unlimited storage using the storage saver. Then Mali GPU isn't the best for retro gaming emulation. I really haven't liked Pixels since the OG/2/3/4a/5 eras. When all five were under 146 mm in height. I didn't want the Pixel 4 due to getting rid of the fingerprint unlock. The most pocketable now is actually the Pixel Fold if you can tolerate the 283g weight and even heavier price tag. Best Pixels for one-handed use - Pixel Pixel 2 Pixel 3 Pixel 4a Pixel 5 Pixel Fold should also be listed but it's 80 mm in width. That's still quite a wide phone for one-handed use. Get the OG or 4a if you want headphone jack. Get the 3, 5, or Fold if you want wireless charging. Get any Pixel before the 6 if you want unlimited storage saver with Google Photos. The Pixel 4a and 5 have much better battery life than the 3, but the 3 has better external speakers, display, and SoC than the Pixel 5. Hence, why the Pixel 3 is my GOAT Pixel. I never had the urge to replace it because it's pretty close to perfect on how I want my phones to be like and never found a Pixel that's truly better than it. Only complaint is the poor RAM management and weaker battery life. If I ever need to replace my Pixel 3 and it requires any Pixel before the 6 so I can keep storing a lot of movies and TV shows onto my Google Photos accounts, then it's probably the OG Pixel because that gets original quality uploads for life. Or maybe the 5 since that has wireless charging (which is a must for me), a bigger battery, and better chip than the 4a. Google got it right with the number 5 each time. Well, except Lollipop. It got much more refined by Android 7, Nougat. Nexus 5 (🐐 Nexus) Pixel 5 Best-looking Nexus is the 4 and One. Best-looking Pixel is the panda 2 XL but I can't stand the size and white gets dirty faster or turns yellowish after many years. Hence, why I'm not crazy getting that ROG Ally. We need a black option.
Traded in my Samsung Fold 4, and really loving it more each day....
@@davidboi239 Haha, love the comment! I have one Samsung left!
I saw one in the AT&T store today. I'm glad I ordered it and can't wait to hold her ❤😂

I'm loving my Pixel Fold, it has it's shortcomings like all phones do no phones absolutely perfect but all together it's been great for me. 👻
LIKING the Pixel FOLD more and more....'lookin forward when available in Spain 🇪🇸. Keep videos coming thanks.
That software looks cocoa butter smooth
Can't wait for mine 1000 bucks Att. no trade in keeping my Z Fold 3 also. Love your video .
Loved your video. Great insights.

I believe the biggest that would keep it compelling is to address the growing screen failures out the box.

Does it have a pre installed screen protector on the INSIDE screen?
Yep
Google definitely did better then Samsung on their first try. Though Samsung did it first
I can't wait for the flip 🙃
Has anyone been having poor cellular connectivity with their fold? Mine goes from 600kbps to 50mbs. It's all over the place.
I still use my DUO 😅
Thanks!
Welcome!
