Funny that you mention Dehya’s materials. She was actually my very first 5 Star character and yeah, it took me a long time to finally ascend to level 40 thanks to Alhaitham. But yeah Dehya was my very first 5 star character.
Also wanted to point out that Tighnari also needs another Dendro teammate to help with constant dendro application, Collei is a good F2P option for this as well as Traveler if you decide to make them Dendro element.
Just wanted to clarify what I mean in the video is that you should try to do as many standard wishes as you can before picking your free 5 star. I do NOT mean waste primogems on it, save those for the limited banner. The game gives you standard wishes as a reward for exploring various regions, use those and you COULD potentially get an early 5 star. The other thing is that you should only pull on the limited banner IF you want the limited 5 star on it. Don't go fishing for a random 5 star since they buffed 50/50 odds in the 5.0 update.
I was pretty set on Jean, but news just came out that the next Imaginarium Theatre is Pyro-Hydro-Dendro. I've got a grand total of ... 3 ... Dendro characters and happen to have what would be really solid Tighnari artifacts + wep lined up already from Sethos, so now I've got some tough choices.

I lost my very first 50/50 to diluc, so it was ok because he's actually really fun to play. then my first standard character was c1 diluc and I was like, "a'ight that cool." but when I was pulling for yelan I got ANOTHER DILUC, and that one kinda hurt ngl lol. so you wanna avoid using that selector b/c the game really is kinda rng with standards, at least until you pull on the standard banner, and the limited one... just in case, lol. plus maybe your 4 stars might determine if you have extremely good synergy with one of the standard characters, although you won't be doing anything too intense for quite a while frfr. ...or don't. it's up to you!~ it's not like you'll brick your account by choosing qiqi, lol. it might not be as fun frfr, but you'll be fine with whoever you select, which is what Panda said at the beginning of the video. that being said, IF you're planning on pulling a specific limited character in the future, like maybe furina, you may want to consider that as well in your decision, because you really can't guarantee what 5 stars you get either from 50/50 losses or standard banner. especially the standard banner, b/c you get weapons from there too, and my last two standard 5 stars were (admittedly good) weapons lol. OH! one last thing is that there will be people who say "x character is the absolute best!" and although they may technically be correct when it comes to numbers and other nerdy junk, let me tell you... if you don't like that character's playstyle, do NOT pull them, b/c even though childe is a top dps still to this day... I do not like playing him, and I honestly wish I'd have either pushed for yelan when I had my guarantee back then, or just got zhongli instead. anyways, I'm done yapping lol. thanks again for the vid!~
I’d say if you’re new, go with keqing. While tighnari and dehya sound like good options, they will be replaced fast in natlan with kinich releasing soon and the nation of pyro is bound to have better pyro characters than dehya. Keqing’s draw is that she has good aoe damage with low cd burst and has high electro up time with her skill making her perfect for both solving over world electro puzzles and killing weaker mobs in the open world. While her replacements are stronger, if you have a keqing, you don’t really need her replacements. Now if you have limited characters, maybe a keqing replacement like Yae, raiden, or clorinde just pick either the 5* you’re missing or just pick the 5* you want. For me, most likely will be between tighnari and dehya because I have all standard 5* already but I will have to weigh which ones cons are better and which one I’m more likely to play longterm.
The one you want to play as / looks the most fun / waifu/husbando. Since you are new, I would try to get as many pulls as you can BEFORE the free 5 star selector ends and see what you get first. You could end up getting one or even multiple of these characters by the time the event is almost done. You could also determine what you're lacking after your pulls as well. Lacking heals? Qiqi or Jean. Lacking DPS? Diluc/Keqing/Tighnari. Hope this helps.
That's because those two characters are Main DPS meaning they want the most field time to do what they do best. Tighnari does not apply Dendro offield for Keqing to take advantage of while she does her thing and vice versa. It's ok to have these two characters but I would separate them into two different teams.

Depends on who you want. Healer? Jean. Another Pyro DPS instead of Hu Tao? Diluc. A tank? Dehya. You can also build Dehya as a burgeon DPS if you don't have one built.

Because people have different playstyles and characters they want. It's also a big decision for people not familiar with the game. There's no reason to look down on other people for not understanding the game.

I would suggest playing normally a bit more for now until you can do some standard banner pulls, see if you get lucky, then go from there. If you aren't happy with your healers, I'd pick Jean, if you want more DPS variety then Diluc, Keqing, and Tighnari. Also kinda depends what additional 4 stars you get as well!

Depends what teams you want to use them in. Mona is great when paired with Cryo DPS or even some Pyro DPS along with your Yelan (The Debuff from Mona's ult is a good damage amplifier). Dehya can be used in any team you want if you want to build her as your tank.

(I have Kirara there as a filler spot so I often switch her with other characters) For Xinyan I have her as my tank already so I'm not really looking to replace her cause it took me 4ever to build her. I've been playing for maybe 2 years already so resources aren't really a problem. I was hoping to get more burgeon reactions out of my team.
Even though I've been playing for awhile I still can't get the hang of building characters right or what the freak a DPS build is, so please go easy on me 😿🙏

I wouldn't really use them together since they are both main DPS characters. But they are both good picks overall.
