    Used this stuff on 50mm thermaline 8x4 plasterboard on my extension. excellent stuff. You can also use to sister -up joists before you screw through to give added strength.

    Silly question, I need to put some plasterboard understairs and this stuff is ideal and only small area, but I have pipes for services around, will this be okay with it been a expanding foam

    Soudal products are superb, can I use leftover plasterboard adhesive for gap filling like normal expanding foam? Rather not waste it.

    Can this be used to place insulating plasterboards onto a wall that has had tanking slurry applied?

    Does anyone know if the breeze block needs to be primed first with pva before using this product

    • @SoudalUK
      @SoudalUK  Рік тому +2

      Brushing off all loose material and dust, plus a light spraying of water is all the priming you'll need.

    Im looking to fix insulated plasterboard to my wall, would you know if the adhesive method is better for sound proofing instead of using metal wall fixings? does the adhesive form a very good bond with the block wall?

    • @crisfiler6128
      @crisfiler6128 4 місяці тому +1

      Yes it's better for soundproofing, any mechanical fixing basically adds a acoustic connection between materials, the foam is acoustically dead. I've just used it over the weekend, fixed 8 sheets on my own with no fuss. Goodluck

    I wish it was that easy. When you press the foam struggles to come out and suddenly a big amount came out messing my floor. I had ro buy PU Foam remove

      I just used 6 cans over the weekend and the foam flowed easily with good control on the trigger. 👌

    In the event of a fire, will the plasterboard fall from the wall when it gets extremely hot ?

    • @SoudalUK
      @SoudalUK  2 роки тому

      Fire resistance is measured in minutes, as part of a system - i.e. to calculate the time in which the specific system/construction retains its structural integrity. If you have more information regarding the project and the fire system you are using, along with the specification, our technical team would be able to make recommendations in terms of the products eligible for use: 01827 261 092. We do have a full range of professional fire-rated products on our website, tested in accordance to specific configurations: www.soudal.co.uk/pro/search?search=fire&type=product_master

    Can I use for insulated plasterboard

    • @SoudalUK
      @SoudalUK  2 роки тому

      Our Genius Gun Plasterboard Adhesive is compatible for use with insulation boards and other solvent sensitive materials, so permitting you are bonding directly to masonry or timber battens, this should be okay on insulated plasterboard. Because of the diversity of the materials and substrates manufacturers use, we'd always recommend a small compatibility test. Please see our technical data sheet for more information: www.soudal.co.uk/sites/default/files/soudal_api/document/F0030867_0001.pdf

    Is this strong enough to hold up soundproof/Sound bloc plasterboard?

    • @SoudalUK
      @SoudalUK  2 роки тому

      The adhesive foam has a very high bond strength. For larger plasterboard panels, we would usually recommend an additional vertical bead of adhesive. If you have more details regarding the weight of the board, our technical team would be able to assist further. Thanks

    How much will one can cover. For example a 2400 x 1200 plasterboard how many cans ?

    • @SoudalUK
      @SoudalUK  2 роки тому

      A 750ml Genius Gun Plasterboard Adhesive canister is more than capable of bonding an area of 12m². Always remember to shake the can before application, as this will really help maximise the yield.

    would be good if it worked like that the nozzle needs cleaning out with a solvent otherwise it blokes up 25 days and i was unable to use the same can until i cleaned the tube and used a seal pick and brake cleaner to clean out the nozzle then i was able to use half filled can that had been sitting for 6 months. I used this stuff to insulted wall cavities before hanging plaster board I done this by using any cheap particle board and covering it with cling wrap or al foil then screwing this board to the wall on both sides drilling small holes between the noggins to be able to squirt the foam in starting at the bottom hole until it starts coming out the hole above then stick it in that hole and continue squirting working your way up the wall 4 holes on a 3 meter high wall was enough leave it for 1 to 2 days unscrew your particle board peel off your cling wrap or al foil you have a nice flat sound proof insulated wall ready to hang your plaster board with minimal few screws and some adhesive.
    Points particle board must be thick or strong enough as not to bow out from the pressure of the foam 19mm chip board or MDF i had no problem power wires install in conduit makes a big difference to heating cooling and sound.

    What’s the procedure for levelling up?

    • @SoudalUK
      @SoudalUK  2 роки тому +1

      After about 6 to 10 minutes, check for correct seating and adjust with a spirit level if required.

      Tanka, From application to board or fixing to wall?

    • @kf5541
      @kf5541 2 роки тому

      Also if you could invent a foam that can be applied directly to wall, then plasterboards could be fitted 5 minutes later that would improve using your already excellent product!

    • @SoudalUK
      @SoudalUK  2 роки тому

      @@kf5541 This level adjustment needs to be done before 10mins after fixing the board. Ideally the correct seating can be achieved straight away, using spacers and applying firm pressure when first fixing the board to the wall.

    Hi, Just about to use this product do i need temporary supports i.e. battens fixed across the sheet and edges to stop the adhesive from expanding and pushing the plasterboard out of alignment?
    Thanks
