It is extremely hard to create iconic cars, like the Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing.
But at least, we can use them as inspiration font.
And the several beautiful custom Triumph Thruxton 900 presented on this video, were built with that inspiration in mind.
They were built in Spain, by Tamarit Motorcycles.
They created a limited edition series labeled as Gullwing/GullwingX.
9 unique and magnificent Triumphs, which pay tribute to one of the most beautiful and iconic automobiles of the XXth century.

What a gorgeous racer! The design cues between the engine, chassis mods and tire selection are just outstanding. I could look at this machine for hours. This is what you'd use to de-progam a chopper enthusiast.

Simply exquisite….😍 What a beautiful motorcycle! I was in Germany 8 years ago seeing a great mate of mine & his family. We went to a car rally of vintage & classic cars. Yes a silver Gullwing was on display! My absolute favourite car of all time, my mate Juergen asked the lady owner if it was possible for me to have my photo taken with it. She answered “Ja!” Then to my amazement told me I could sit in it!😱🤤😎👍🏼🇦🇺

Uma história interessante sobre esse modelo de porta, meu sogro, infelizmente já falecido… contou-me certa vez que esse modelo derivava de um desenho de um colega dele de engenharia, ambos trabalhavam como mecânicos de automobilismo em São Paulo nos horários vagos, enquanto estudavam engenharia mecânica na Universidade de São Paulo - USP. Ele comentou que esse desenho foi aplicado em um carro de corrida e que esse seu colega ao se formar meses depois conseguiu uma vaga na Mercedes-Benz da Alemanha. Após esse colega ir para a Alemanha esse modelo foi criado. É uma história interessante, não posso afirmar a veracidade dela pois está muito distante no tempo, mas fica a lembrança. Bela apresentação como sempre, parabéns!

No denying these are very beautiful machines and I am sure they handle as well as they look. For me the problem with such detailed and exquisite builds is that if I owned one I would be loath to ride it and get it dirty. Works of art. Full stop.

What comes first; the egg or the hen? What came first the technical solutions or the design? What a qestions! Probably like the first paradox they are insoluble or the solution itself is found in the finished product itself. In the case of the Mercedes Benz 300 SL the final product is a whole of unparalleled beauty. Personally, I have only seen once in my youth a car like this parked in a street of dowtown Mexico City. There could not have been many of them in my country, that I know of, another of which there is evidence of its existence belonged to a famous actor from the 40s and 50s: Pedro Infante. As a child they gave me a metal 300 SL that I still have and that's it! “Alas de golondrina” are known those unique specimens from the German post war. A car that perhaps pointed to paths of optimism in a country that at the time still had many notable scars from its recent past. But those are dust from other mud.
There is no doubt that if there is something baroque it is definitely spaniard, which applies to the not only technically ingenious but aesthetically achieved form in the oil cooler of this motorcycle. It not only solves a purely aesthetic problem but also does it in an aesthetic way. Personally, I have never liked this type of radiator, because although they are necessary for the internal safety of the engine, they certainly look like an addition that hinders to achieve clear and defined lines in the appearance of the engine and its accessories on the chassis. Everything in this design is for visual enjoyment. I think the Thruxton here reaches new limits that are difficult to overcome, as it is such a “brown” motorcycle that what it produces are more or less successful imitations of the classic bikes of the golden age in England. This is something else. I can tell that I would jump out of the seat in front of these bikes, like I did with the old 300 SL. Hopefully the destination of these beautiful motorcycles is the road and not the showroom. It would be a sad ending to a great design. But surely each one of them does not cost “Dos duros”, I see it difficult.
Interestingly, you just gave me the right words for a subject i have been thinking about for a future video(Probably the next video). "Paradox" is the word I was looking for. :) And curiously, it is about another car, also one of the most beautiful cars made in the 20th century. For a niche market 400k is excellent. and more importantly your work is improving over several years. with steady subscriber growth. My favourite part is the tail of the bike. Would've loved it in dual monoshock setup because I don't like empty triangular area between the engine and the rear dual shocks which many of the builders do and without the rider it gives it a very empty look and looks like something needs to fill that gap.
though about this gap whole my life.

Nice bike! But in my opinion this swinging chassis is just an eyecatcher. it would be a olution to a problem if there would besome kind of storage compartment.
Since I have my bike I just needed once to access the battery/electronics to connect my USB charger :D

Stunning work on this beautiful motorcycle!!, only one criticism; the front mudguard is ridiculously small and looks totally out of place, (my opinion), great work with the video Victor, as usual!!👍🏻
You are right about the front mudguard being out of place. I think it is one of the prefabricated parts and sold by tamarit Motorcycles on their website. Therefore, I believe it was design for a bigger wheel. Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.

The original NCR bodywork for the bevel drive Ducati was a one piece tank/seat design, but stress cracking at the front of the seat led to later production being 2 piece. I wonder if regular use of these bikes will result in a similar experience? I don't know if the Triumph X75 Hurricane, or the Tracy bodywork for the 2 stroke Kawasaki triples had similar problems.

I am really sorry my friend, but unfortunately this is one of those secrets that i can't reveal. It took me a lot of time and effort to find this robotic voice. I hope you understand me. But i can give you a suggestion. Try the Neospeech software with "Hugh" male UK voice, which is also very good. :) Cheers.

I use this "robotic" voice created by software, because I'm Portuguese, and my bad English accent (and voice), can ruin the documentary character that I like for my videos. I already tried a real British voice in one of my videos, and, surprisingly, almost everyone hated it. Curiously, the robotic voice sounds realy very good for to non-English natives.

I don't think I've ever seen a bike with so much "Frighteningly" expensive kit on it look so good, I'm usually one for "Subtlety" as too much expensive gear tends to make it look like they are trying too hard & they end up just f#ckin "Tacky" but these look, dare I say it, Prefect, & the red one looks the best, I'm not usually one for red either, that little cowl just sets it apart. He could have used a "Floating Hinge" on the tank but it would have been a hell of a lot of work & wouldn't have looked any better, but I'm so glad they left mudguards on it, however small, a bike's just not dressed without them. I finally got my hands on a decent BMW at right money & I've decided to build it just for me, I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it, but I'm going to build it the way I want, unfortunately, you have given me a million & one ideas so I hope it doesn't end up like a "Dog's Breakfast". Thank you for yet another round of "Entertainment & Inspiration" stay safe my friend.

I`m not impressed by what Tamarit has done it looks like more of the same custom cafe racers that I have seen. Triumph thruxton doesn`t need to use the Mercedes Gullwing for ideas. The tires that have been installed on the bike is the same touch used by many on cafe racers and I don`t think they are that great for going fast in winding roads. I own a 900cc Thruxton and would never butcher it to look like that.
Oh bullshit. Justifying charging a metric s-ton of money for nothing you couldn't do easily on your own bike.
All that and then put on the lowest performance tires available. Stupid.
