- A 50 Mph, 70% overlap rear crash test.
Result: Pass - No Fuel Leak.
This is a test on the fuel system to ensure there is no fuel leakage in a high-speed rear-end collision. There is no instrumentation in the dummies.
My 2018 Odyssey was hit at 50 mph on the interstate while standing still just like this by a distracted driver. My two children sitting in the third row were fine. Honda owner for life now.
Glad to hear your kids were okay. Just curious, were your kids in a child car seat? I drive an 18 Odyssey and always concerned of how occupants in 3rd row seat fair in a rear crash. Thanks.
Yoshi Goya they were in booster seats, as they are 8 & 9 years old.
Beauthe101 they were in the third row. I can email you pictures if you’re interested.
Blake Jackson actually, I would love to see the pictures, many thanks.
Thank God you & your children were ok. I just bought a 2019 odyssey.
Nice to see seatback strength is finally improving.
my parents got rear-ended on the highway in stand-still traffic at 30 mph and the back window of the odyssey didnt even break
Was it totaled?
@@nebadapeba2712 almost, but nope.
@@varavix5895 wow
@@varavix5895 that’s not good.
My parents got rear rear ended with the same cause at 30 mph too. Except they were in there 2021 hyundai nexo, looks like a wrinkle on the back
brokeen back window structure got pushed in but it still handled well qnd back almost got destroyed but good
1:36 Honda quality the headlights still work
Parker Gray 😭😭
Lol. But shouldn't the car turn off
Honda Odyssey = unlimited life
what a stupid test. Wheres the dummys in the back seat?. Wheres the interior camera? Wheres the footage of the rear internal damage?. Surly thats the point of this test?
It's for fuel tank leakage. They barrier is trying to intrude in the fuel tank but if protected correctly it wont leak, which could result in a fire or explosion
wmally I see. Do you know why they never test rear impact damage on people carriers?
@@rickybe only reason I can think of is that most people carriers are sold in Europe but not in America and these are American crash tests
I think most 3rd row vehicles would fail rear crash tests. No regulations = no testing except for a few manufacturers. Look up XC-90 rear crash testing.
@@zacheryolson3100 guess you need to be able to afford safety.
第三排的人活的了嗎?
So you get black door handles and mirrors on base model?
Actually the black windows are some window tints you can afford online or let a person do it and the black door handles you have to ask the person you are working with to buy the car. Like my family’s oddysey it has silver handles. I’m guessing that came with the model because it was shown on the add. And also on Honda’s page where we first discovers the oddysey. Anyways I hope this helped you and also vote for Honda for the win because they have knee airbags. And airbags covering the whole car.
*Features of the oddysey*
1.Sliding doors.
2.Mini TV
3. Pull back seats.
4.Movable seats.
5. Wifi (But it’s not free u must pay monthly
The black thing mean it is an lx. My step mom has a the same car with black door handles. The car has manual doors, no back controls for ac/heat,and no touch screen in the front. Basically it is the base model
3rd row is certainly not a safe place to be in
All 3rd rows are
Fm engkau
Yes, as well as estima and alphard
Yup. Not in this type of crash. But in frontal third row would be ok
Aagos Goswami Toyota Sienna is crushed to a pulp. Honda is looking better for a minivan to carry my kids
the 3rd row window got broken and structure in 3rd row window broke 4 star
Now that not really making me feel that safe
How to loose 50000 dollars in 2 minute and 12 seconds
Wow I thought the lx model is about 30000
civic van
Why is the Odyssey rolling forward? Leave it to take the hit,,see how is gonna crimp,,
Because the law of physics. Every action has a reaction. Any car will move forward being hit like that. If i punch you in the face your head is gona go back.. wont stay still lmao
I assume the transmission is in park and the impact broke the parking pawl.
A couple of months ago (June 2019) a Tahoe hit us at 50mph
