Great info on that sled. Can’t wait to hear more about it with more seat time.
Also kudos for including the Avy prep content. So important and more guys should include it
Cheers !!
Thank you!! I definitely wanted to include it a bit to show people they need to take it seriously no matter the conditions
@@ColinMcEvoy you are ahead of the curve by doing so. Please continue to add it into your content !!!!
Lookin forward to more videos.
Badass I snowchecked the 146" slash!!
Nice!! Those 146’s look like fun and even easier to play around with!
Same!!!
Just snow checked a 165" Khaos Matryx slash NA. The people who are hard whining about not getting a turbo are likely the same ones who don't even use the NA to its potential. I am an intermediate rider in the low to middle end of that scale. currently on a 163" 2015 pro pretty much stock other than a can. I am 100% stoked for next year. Just getting a real love for tree riding and this machine looks like its gonna help me get to the next level and I can't wait! I. haven't even rode an Axys and I'm a little concerned I should've maybe bought a demo 2021 or a last years model if available off the showroom floor. What are your thoughts as to this jump in platforms?
If your 15 is stock, you are going to be so impressed with your snowcheck that you're going to ask yourself why you didn't upgrade sooner. I went from stock 13 to 18 to 21 khaos 165. 36" stance and velocity shocks, get on edge and stay there, absorb terrain in control of the throttle and brake cause there's no fighting the bars. You have to be pretty athletic to ride the 15 well. Your snowcheck is going to ride itself. It will up your game big time. I've got a 155 Matryx Slach on the way. Get stoked.
Enjoyed the vid Colin.
@@michaelhansen7516 I must say that late April not long after I posted my initial question a business colleague let me shred his 20 Khaos 165. I was in the Wolverine riding area and around Tumbler Ridge BC. First day…..EFFING HATED IT. Day 2, I slowed down and quit trying to muscle the thing all day and allow it to do it’s thing a little more. Ease up the grip, get the legs working a little better. Didn’t totally hate it. Day 3, M’eh maybe I don’t hate it so much. By day 9 I snow checked the new Slash and I couldn’t be more stoked to get into some big terrain this winter and push further than I ever have into the back country. Pretty happy Polaris owner over here in NW Alberta. Kakwa here we come.
@@jeremyhall568 If the snow was hard, like early season when I first rode mine and maybe like your April rides, the new sled is not that impressive. Turning a long track on concrete is a chore. It wasn't until the snow had some depth that is was obvious the 21 was superior to my 18. Not to be pendantic but you say you're intermediate and fighting the machine. Maybe watch the Rasmussen and Adams videos on youtube. Practice downhill 180s, stop/resume at any time on a sidehill, climbing back and forth on contour through choppy terrain, till it's second nature. You should be balanced with minimal arm strength. Get forward. Great purchase. Should be a great season with the return on la nina.
@@michaelhansen7516 thx for the tips. will do. just did 3 at togwotee last week on 850 matryx 155, learning to love it, needed more pow tho lol
My question is did you get the Matrix RMK without electric start and if so can you turn on the display without turning on the sled
Good question! So the one I rode in the video was a standard RMK with the new gauge. It does have a small battery in it that keeps the gauge on for a while after the sled stops running. It dims the screen so it doesn’t drain the battery 👍🏼
@@ColinMcEvoy how long is a while? And you know if they're going to be offering that battery backup could do with the pidf gauge for us non-electric start people
how tall are you? just curious on bar height for my snow check?
I’m 6ft, I ordered mine with the low bars
Hmmmm I’m 6,4 ohhhh what to do lol
I think I’m going high
@@robmeaney8091 high sounds about tighter for you, the high bars are maybe 3 inches or so higher then the low bars
I still got my old 2009 Polaris RMK 700... I feel like getting these Matryx sleds so bad ! I am 40 now and I don't want to be too old before getting something sporty again ! Time flies and we do regret the things we should have done when it was time for it !
even if you only have it for a season, you wont regret it. its a HUGE difference!
Your vid was big part of me snow checking a pro rmk slash instead of a doo
Thanks for this. You consistently make interesting, punchy vids on sled topics. I’m riding Doos and Cats but for sure there’ll be a Polaris in my shed one day soon...
thank you Akatarawa! I appreciate it! I've been trying to get more content put out so theres definitely more to come. Im glad yo hear you're going to get a polaris!
Nice vidéo take care of you for the summer I see you next season which my new sled hihihi
I'm 6 ft 3. Would you recommend low bar handlbar even for tall riders? .. cause more control, or is mid hight better for tall, so I'm not bending over as much?
I’d recommend mid bars yea, or low bars and possibly a spacer if it’s too low (so long as it doesn’t pull on the cables too much)
Re watched this over and over.
Hey have on ordered, just wondering how the cooling was on the trail? Have one ordered and am currently riding a 2021 Khaos. Just wondering how the cooling is compared to full tunnel
its about the same but it was a prototype still so new ones may have been changed a little
Hey Colin, great video! I'd like to get one but I hesitate a little bit because of the new cooling system. I ride in north east Quebec and sometimes do I little bit of track in between our backcountry rides. I am ok to make some compromise by getting an RMK but I am worried that it might overheat in spring days when the track lack fresh snow. My friends have Summits and Artic Cats. No troubles with these models. Even the dealer kinds of warns me about it because there is no radiator into the tunnel. What do you think? Does this thing cools off as well as Axys RMKs, or assault, or let's say a summit?
There’s still cooling under the tunnel, it’s just been moved forward. The one I rode stayed pretty cool on the trail out. Just run the scratchers down and keep an eye on your temps and you should be fine 👍🏼
@@ColinMcEvoy Thank you so much for the advice! I appreciate it!
Just got one of these I’m pumped now.
great choice!
👍🥶🤔🤣awesome 🙌
Got the kahos boost and I think it might be to rowdy. I can't wait! See ya at the shoot out
Sounds good bud! You won’t regret that boost!
Are these sleds worth snowchecking?
Absolutely!!
@@ColinMcEvoy Done...!!!
@@carlatamanczyk3891 not if your buddys are riding turbos because there's no way it's going the places they are
@@drifter5682 After being chased by an avalanche years ago near Sun Valley, Idaho, I dont need to go where a turbo will take me anyway.
How much lower is the seat compared to the axys?
i think it was about the same height, maybe slightly lower
Anyone think there make more boost sleds the snow check sold out in no time ?????
I;ve heard there is possible talks they may add more. You should contact a dealer and maybe put down a deposit and tell them to contact you if they do open up more orders for sleds. if one doesnt open up then you would just either order a NA model or if they can refund your deposit if you dont want to order.
@@ColinMcEvoy not happening in BC I tried that Ski doo was great no problem.snow checking a turbo with them sucks I've been riding polaris since 97
What is the story with the new cooling system?
It’s been moved to the front of the tunnel and also changed slightly to keep the same cooling abilities. The final product will probably be a little different then what I rode and saw on the demo sled. But it stayed just as cool as my axys 👍🏼
U guys go to burk
I live in the cda area so yes we ride all around here Montana side is kick ass too
