I hope the vertical mounting of that turbocharger isnt going to be an issue. Theres a reason almost no companys mount turbos like that. That center section needs to be able to drain to lube and cool. Being on its side worries the hell outta me
Not all turbos are the exact same on the inside. Polaris may have figured out a way to make it properly drain and flow so that isn’t an issue. When I get my hands on one I’ll let ya know.
Actually a company called solid turbos mounts there’s like that for the Arctic cat kits. The turbo will have zero issues with it being mounted like that.
I ordered a PRO RMK MATRYX SLASH 165 2.75”. I was thinking about the turbo but I’m thinking about Turing my 2019 into a mod sled and doing a boondocker turbo on that one.
Couldn’t get a turbski unit. I ended up going with a 155 pro slash with the 2.75 tho. It’ll be a wicked sled I think. At least you can set it up a bit more playful. The 155 Khaos turbo would be absolute insanity.
You’re seriously going to have just as much fun on a non turbo sled! I almost called the dealer and changed to a pro RMK 165 but I’m gonna stick it out for the content 😂
You’ll still need scratchers, I think the coolers are the same size. But still will need scratchers... I haven’t had scratchers on my sled at all this year though. Just watched temps as I rode up the trail and stopped along the side and kick some snow onto the coolers and keep going.
Pumped on the turbo, but....Pretty sure that tether isn’t standard. It was an $80 option. Also, how did they not upgrade the ski rubbers to something like durapro. When spending 20k+ on a sled I shouldn’t have to upgrade ANYTHING! Heat the damn brake lever!
I think the tether as an option on the website is just a website coding thing. From what it sounds like the tether is standard at least on the turbos if not all of them.
The tether is included factory I believe on both trail and mountain machines. And I cannot agree more about the shot start or lack there of. Huge game changer if you’ve ever ridden with it
That MIGHT be overkill, on the slash at least. It’s already 8.5” shorter so the extra length might be a little much. I was thinking about that with the khaos 155 turbo I ordered. But since I have a 163 axys already I don’t see why I would do the swap. But I would have liked to see the khaos slash turbo in a 163/5 option.
You are better offer ordering an pro 165 boost slash and getting the upgrade velocity shocks and then changing out the rear rails to khaos from ice age. Would be faster and cheaper. I do agree tho I wish they offer khaos in 163-165 boost but I’m sure next year they will. I went khaos 155 slash boost. Was lucky enough to snow check 2 of them ha
@@arsxs04 well it’s already 8.5” shorter. And I was told the track is 3.5” longer on the ground. So ya sounds overkill to me but try it won’t hurt only money and can go back to the 155 track LOL
The 850 turbo has 13% more hp than the 850 n/a witch has 9% more hp than there 800 witch nobody knows how much hp the 800 had since polaris didn't tell us how much hp the 800 had. Polaris don't this really look stupid? having everybody guess what the hp on your 850 turbo is making us look like a bunch idiots and this is bunch of nonsense! Everybody is guessing makes us look like fools even your customers that buys this turbo 850 and it isn't right. At least when I go down to my local percepting ski-doo dealer I know that turbo 850 is making 165 hp. Weather if it is more or less than the competition it doesn't matter at least I know what the hp is making. Here is guy on this video promoting your product and he is guessing what the hp it is. He comes off like he isn't intelligent only because polaris put him in that position. Makes promoting your product poor. Other than that good video. I have nothing against polaris I believe they make great sleds.
I call BS. Yesterday I saw a polaris official talk smack about their new turbo sleds, saying they spend a good 8 or 9 years in development. That is BS. I am sure Polaris didn't have any thoughts of a 2 stroke turbo until a year ago when Ski Doo revealed their turbo 2 stroke. No way the spend 8 or 9 years developing this kit. That is marketing BS to cover up the fact ski doo put them in their place last winter. That said, tapered short tunnel, and a turbo is bringing more fun to the deep stuff. And I am sure we will see lots of exciting mod sleds next winter with cranked up boost and custom ecu or modified ecu. 240 hp + without bottom end mods and still be reliable? What can the insane bring with their custom cranks and race blowers? 320 ish?
Companies don’t just come out with a new engine, chassis whatever after only a year. You need to look into how many years companies do R&D not just in sleds but car companies, to come out with a new product. 1 year is not enough time.
Dude you better do your homework before you say something stupid like that. I’m not a Poo guy. But I do know that Doo was building the G4 850 turbo since 2013-14. Doo accually know they were going put a turbo on the G4 chassis when it was first designed . So let’s see that’s about 7 years development . So yeah I can see Poo saying it’s been in development since their 850 came out.
By far the best damn video explanation out!!! Better than all the factory vids by far!!! No BS
yesssss
Best Polaris overview I have seen thus far...
Snow checked a 165 boost with velocity shocks. I was planning on a Doo turbo but wow Polaris brought it.
Can’t wait!
Nice!!! I was thinking of doing the 165 myself but wanted learn how to do flat land flips with the boosted 155 so content here we come 😂

Another good informative video, kinda regretting getting my khaos this year haha

I’m going to order the same sled.
as someone who got a boost snow check and hates the epa... can NOT wait for air to air intercooler and titanium turbo pedistal/dp mods lol
make sure you catch future vids, could very well have what you seek in a future video
Hell ya! Didn’t know you were doin UA-cam videos! Looks great!
haha thanks bud!! hope you and the fam are doing well!!
@@ColinMcEvoy doing great! Was looking to sleds, and came across your video!
Very informative! I just got a patriot boost !! Can’t wait
You are going to enjoy the heck out that thing! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
My dad is getting a matryx khaos bla bla, myself I have to settle for a mxz from 2008 with 133 inch track
better sneak a ride on your dads sled!

Hi great video
has it been confirmed yet if all models with series 8 tracks will come with the extrovert driver?
I think so
Can we rewatch the livestream from Burandt again?
I think so, you’d have to check his Instagram and click on the livestream tab
Good content buds
Thanks fellas! 🤘🏼
With cooling moved up, is there no need for scratchers?

I was just in Wasilla the other week!!
No why I'm in Wasilla
That makes 3 of us 😂

also something similar to shot start would have been amazing.
Got my boost checked. Are you sure that 80$ isn’t just for a spare tether?
Also have a snow check boost on order and the tether is standard.

Is the 2.75 series 8 fully clipped?
I’m not sure Lavin, I didn’t look when I rode it.
What do you think about getting a Khaos Boost 155 and putting a 165 track on it? Overkill?
