[PSX] Xenogears - Final Boss (Full Power)

- Yes, I know there's one more boss after this one, but considering it's a storyline battle that you cannot possibly lose, I'm not really counting it.
Anyway, here it is, the final boss of Xenogears. Normally, you'd weaken him by using your entire repertoire of gears to stop four undulating "spheres" (balls) around the core. If you do not do this, you fight a suped-up version of the final boss with four times as much health and damage, he also gains the abilities of the sphere bosses, a heal, a fuel drain, a large elemental attack (of which he just didn't want to use this time) and a random status effect that can slow your gears into oblivion.

This is the one RPG i believe that truly needs and deserves a remake.
Welp, as long as Square Enix owns the rights, and with Monolith Soft being a developer for Nintendo, I don't think that's going to happen. Unless Nintendo buys the rights from Square...but that will only happen when pigs fly.

I remember getting this game by accident for Christmas when it came out. My Uncle bought me Brave Fencer Musashi, but my Mom had already bought it for me too. We went to Sears to exchange it for a different game, I saw the cover for Xenogears and thought it looked cool so I got it... The rest is history, one of my favorite games of all time!
Two legendary games! With Amazing soundtracks. And Bushido blade. Those plus ff7 and I'm a kid again

So many memorable characters and intense battles. Thankyou Xenogear for the memories. I still have it safely stored in my box of video games for PlayStation

omg i finished Xenogears back on my ps1 back in the 90s and watching this video brings back all the stress and anxiety of this epic boss fight. I remember only narrowing defeating him too and the immense relief I felt!
this is the best RPG. story was great, music was awesome, and you cared about the characters. the battle system was fun as hell too. imagine if they remade this... using the Fox Engine

Love the combat system of this game, especially the non-mech combat.
Yeah I wish there had been some kind of Epic final battle with Fei and the gang on foot.

i have bad time to defeat this boss on 1999 when no guide exist. By that time we have to discover everything by our self. Amazing game, also xenosaga!
I couldn't speak or read english on 1999 and I remember this boss took me a week to defeat it
I didn't understand infinity level when I was a kid back in the 90s with this game haha!
so it is possible to defeat Deus without destroying the four orbs...

Honestly it’s a fair bit easier. You use less resources overall.
@@Neogears1312 It's not a difficult fight. Even without beating the 4 orbs, you can fuck Deus up with Xenogears and lvl 3 deathblows.
@@PiroKUSS I guess my gaming was weak back in the day. I found Deus to be VERY difficult. In fact, my first time reaching him I failed so many times and I THINK I was save-locked at the fight and had to start the game over. Either that, or maybe I left the dungeon? I can't recall for sure, but I know I wasn't able to finish him my first time. I recall he kept taking my fuel away.
@@Yamigatathere's an exit near the point of no return that leads to the overworld. it's at the room where there's a final save point before you fight deus. so there's no way you could be save-locked
@@YamigataThis fight is really difficult if you don't do what the game expects, which is to go do side content right before the final dungeon. Deus is mostly just a stat check so if you have the late area equipment you win and if you don't you lose
This was such a good game.. lol. I wanna play it again now. Nostalgia.

The end of the day, the biggest boss fight was VS my PS1 itself, crashing every goddamn time.

Fei/Emeralda/Citan is easily the best endgame party IMO (no Elly made me sad, but oh well), so one doesn't really need to weaken Deus if your Gears are powerful enough... at least that's how I played it that many years ago.
I maxed up all equipments and parts for all the gears. But, i used chuchu to beat deus 😂
The chanting in the background makes it feel like the world is cheering you on, that this time, you’re literally fighting for the world.

She's basically Ellys replacement with better physical attack but her ether isn't bad either I'd give her power magic and the strong power output part from the lighthouse and let her go ham
Square should port this game to the switch and give it the ff7 treatment where you can turn on 3x speed
Even at full power Deus is very easy, you might lose 2 of your other characters but xenogears is practically untouchable. With an X-70 engine giving 8000 fuel, a frame HP 90% and a Z charger, you can quickly heal up 90% damage, then use it's innate 99% hyper chance to quickly get into hyper mode, then use charge twice to recover all the fuel. To ensure you don't get interrupted too often you can turn booster on (or just have Fei equipped with speed shoes), there should also be one more gear slot free, a magnetic coat should improve your response time ahead of Deus
Edit: You can forgo the magnetic coat for another Z charger, which stacks with the previous one for a total of 1000 fuel per charge, or during hyper mode completely restore your fuel. Equip the holy pendant on Fei to also get 6 turns of hyper mode instead of 3, meaning you can use one turn to charge and the remaining 5 turns to attack, more than enough to give Deus a beatdown
Is it possible to beat deus with citan, fei and maria (65lvl each) and I don't have z charger even at shopkeeper
Is that a question or a statement? And what are you trying to say about the Z charger, that it doesn't show up at the lighthouse shop, that you don't have enough money to buy it, or that it's completely optional?
This was the best game of my life
a xenogears remake would be definitely an instant buy. Damn. Imagine all those revamped graphics with that badass story.

Probably because it'd take a time and effort to reverse-engineer. A lot of work from this period wasn't backed up at the time due to limited storage and companies not having the foresight that maybe someday they'd come back and update them (as opposed to doing full on remakes). With that said, it's not impossible for there to be one. The likes of FFVII, VIII, and KH1 had the same problem, and they got small teams to reverse-engineer, port, and remaster them over. XG might get the opportunity too.
Remastering the game is practically impossible, considering Xenogears is owned by Square, and Monolithsoft is a subsidiary of Nintendo now, the closest we'll get is a Xenoblade 3 that feels remarkably close to Xenogears

Guess what square Enix is doing now? Making final Fantasy games w Arianna grande on the cover. Although the game looks really good it's just sad. Download it for free as an app. Xenogears still the best game ever.

This game is so awesome it's a Jrpg and a Mecha game plus what other Jrpg where has you fight gods and dinosaurs in a giant robot
One of my Fav ps1 game, and most memorable ever beside The Final Fantasy Series.
one of my top 3 RPG, FF3(6), Chrono trigger and Xenogears.
One of the easiest ways to beat him is to mega sup up CHU-CHU i mean soup him the fuck up, when you beef him up to his max potential he'll heal your gears for like 89000 with his forest dance, even if your gears are weak and have cruddy equipment, he'll heal you like nothing. You'll have to use big joes shop for this obviously to buy all his items and what not.

Sure you can, buddy!
If you put 2x 50% power modifiers on Xenogears with the most powerful engine (all available from lighthouse, but NOT cheap)
You can make Fei's non-Hyperdrive/Combo, Normal 'square' attacks do 9999 dmg and there's almost a 0% miss rate.
Also, if you buy a fuckload of 'Drive' you can buff CHU-CHU massively and make her do similar damage to Xenogears with the 2x power modifiers, and best engine. make sure you give her 'step shoes' or whatever they're called too, for half time in between turns. All characters should have them equipped, ideally.
Kinda wish I still had this savefile, as that level of overkill would be fun to pull off!

I remember that Deus had this skill called "Ultimate Break", not sure on the name. It has scenes of planets appearing. Then deals thousands of damage. Got used on me a few times.

xenogears is owned by square enix & xenosaga is owned by bandai namco. if anything, they call the shots whether those games get a remake or not, not nintendo. if they want, those two companies could hire monolith soft to take control on how the remakes will turn out, especially since they were the ones who handled the games' development (with the exception of xenogears, but that was before the devs left square to form their own company which became monolith soft). however, that's wishful thinking at the end of the day
great game. 2nd to the best for me(suikoden 2 is 1st for me)if you guyz miss this game then you can play it in your android phone some psx emulator and the game itself will solve the problem.

Everytime i face Deus i like to take the four orbs first... Not because i'm a pussy or anything but more becuase i didn't knew you could battle him without defeating the orbs... I didn't knew i couldn't battle Deus without taking the orbs first until i saw this video.
i really love this game...even my email is w3lltall (and still using it) also never fought it at full power, maybe i have to play it again and use Hardcore mod.

one of the weakest/easiest to beat boss in the game. Deus in Mahanon is much more difficult than this if you dont know tha trick. Best Game ever made! 😍

I played this game for the first time recently. After beating the game, I got curious and tried fighting fully-powered Deus. Gave me the impression that fully-powered Deus was the closest this game had to a Superboss, so thanks for giving me a glimpse of what it's like to stand a chance.
