I really needed this. I had surgery and it doesn’t look like it’s getting better. I have to get it packed every two days and I think the infection is trying to come back. During the first surgery I felt everything so I’m nervous to go back. Thanks for the video. It made me feel much better about going ahead and getting the surgery over with 💕
Bro, Happy to see that it worked. I had same problem and sufferd severe infection 4 times in 2 years. last year I had the surgery in the UK and felling very well. No more infection.
I was born with a preauricular sinus. It has never been infected in my 69 yrs. until a few months ago. Now it is infected again. Antibiotics worked the last time. Hopefully it will help this time.
Preauricular pits occur in about 0.1-0.9% of the population in the United States. They are more common in Asian-American children (10%), African-American children (5%), and Caucasian-American children (1%). I have an infection now going on and i'm scared of what the doctor will tell me. I afraid of it getting worse so I need to go to the hospital before it gets worse. Growing up i can only recall having a severe infection at the age of 7-8 and now I'm 23 and having another outbreak. The pain is horrible.
Hi! I hope you answer my question. I had an operation last year and it reoccurred the same year. Last month I had a second surgery and it took me a month to get it healed, I think its not fully healed. My question is do you still feel some itchiness inside where the sac was removed? I don’t know if its normal, my doctor said it is but I’m kinda scared it will reoccurs again. Thanks in advance for the answer.
Ive had a similar experience with my first surgery to remove my preauricular sinus was unsuccessfull and ive had infections and swelling come and go just like you, which is a real annoyance! Im having my second surgery in about a week. I haven't been put on antibiotics before surgery like you did, so i wonder if I should be worried about that. My ear keeps swelling and draining every week or two 🥴
Much, much better! Actually had to have 1 more surgery because the little stinker came back after 6 months! But the doctor said that was really rare and it coming back again would be even crazier.
so glad it got fixed for you! stay safe on-campus!!
I have one too and am looking into having it removed after having a gnarly infection similar to yours. So glad it finally got fixed for you!!! 🎉

Ouch! I know the feeling of it just continuing to get infected: not fun. Best of luck!
The mass of preauricular sinus but the incision keeps on opening. 3rd stitch already now it's open.

I have one too and it is strangely satisfying to drain (by pushing the liquid out) but annoying when it gets infected. Hope you feel better.
Aahhhh! mine always hurt too much to do that, that sounds terrifying to me haha! Thankfully the surgery worked for me though so now more issues :)
