- Onboard highlights from the 2022 Spa Six Hours starring the Ford GT40.
Make sure to put your headphones on to fully experience the brutal V8.
It finished P3 while being down on 7 cylinders due to a pushrod failure for the last 90 minutes of the race.
Brilliantly driven by Oliver Bryant & James Cottingham

Thank you !
Fantastic work mate, from australia. Can i ask what cameras you are using?
Just what i needed
You have no idea how much I've wanted this, holy shit, thank you!
Now we are talking!
No Music, no talking, no commentary
Pure V8 roars and acceleration...
What a mind blowing experience
Thank you...
Yes that's nice and all.... but where are the Straightaways ? I want to hear that thing sing. It may be because of too much traffic...... I really wanted to hear it stretch its legs.
I'm lucky enough to have been taken for a ride in an original GT40, and I have to say, it has ruined almost every other car for me. Simply an amazing experience.
At 6'2" I am afraid I would not fit in one. I would love to ride in it though.
I know what you mean and it sucks, I had it with a Lotus I owned and was stupid enough to sell. Even tho I drive a car now thats even a lot faster it's not the same experience, I want one back so badly and will probably in a couple years when I am in my early midlife crisis haha.
Describe it, I’d imagine it was very visceral
@@Mr10usdad the owner track races it and fits in the car at 5'11". I bet you wouldn't be too bad!
@@DESTRAKON it was complete sensory overload. You can hear every part doing its job. The intake noise alone is worth whatever the car cost. Hearing it transition from cruising at partial throttle to wide open throttle acceleration is intoxicating. Partial throttle almost makes it sound like its gargling fuel, the engine a bit unhappy. Once the pedal goes down, it smooths out, and pins you to the seat until you run out of rpm. It's amazing!
I legitimately thought this was a part of Ford v. Ferrari that I'd forgotten about. Simply speaks volumes to your cinematography!
same
you forgot to mention that this footage is actually beeter than the movie...
@@Vichislitel I was thinking the same thing. That movie was very good but it had not a single moment that truly captured the nature of the cars and the racing.
I can't think of a worse racing movie than Ford vs Ferrari. Pretty much tied with fast&furious in terms of immersion and realism.
@@dieltotor ooh stop, it wasn't that bad LOL.
The way the raindrops spread as he's accelerating at 4:10 is so cool
that's the only reason why i apply hydrophobic coat on my windshield lol
Rain-X. Works on your street machine too! 🙂
Millennium Falcon like
Fr
@@mmorzan What other reason would you have? 😁
"You're watching that car video again?"
-my Wife
Well done Robbert!
Im amazed that there are GT40's still actually racing competitively, amazing watching her do what she was built to do.
Almost all are replicas. Very few original ones are actually raced.
@@mgdavid1380 I know, still built the same way and to the same specifications, still awesome!
@@mgdavid1380 I mean what is the actual difference between a replica and an authentic GT40 aside from its age?If it's built to the same spec, i'd consider it a GT40.
@@t.mcgarry4 people like to complain.
7 years ago when I did the first 289 head for a original gt40 or Cobra to be raced at Goodwood ....I: 1th , never heard of Goodwood and thought : 2th ..why race a 3 million dollar car ???? You can ruin it..
Till I saw the races and thought : THATS RACING!!!!!!
Some owners race an original car but almost never the original engine. Matching numbers is roughly 30 percent more value . Meaning if the original engine is ruined irreparable .......the car owner looses say 600k or so......
This is the pinnacle of racing, no computers or driver assistance just man and machine. Just watching this you can see it is on the edge all the time with the driver pushing everything to the limit and only his skill and fast reactions to keep the car under control. They may not be the fastest cars now but they are still the most entertaining to watch by miles.
Just ticks all the boxes 👏🏼 Spa, GT40, Action and cinematic 👌🏼
The GT40 afterward said “I haven’t been ***ked like that since grade school”.
Hahahaha
Ha Fight Club reference 👍
Well said!
Nobody should feel that kind of fcked in grade school. Movie ref or not lol.
@@timfixinstuff2283 watch the movie you get IT then 😂
Could feel the emotions from this video; angst, fear, doubt. Above all you could see the drivers had some big b alls out there and drove like it was meant to...mega great video again Robbert!
That 2:48 maximum pucker moment… 😱
I have it running just as audio, not watching the video, while working in office. Perfect soundtrack to relax and stay focused. Feels like there are tears of joy dropping out of my ears. Wonderful. Thanks for uplaoding. And big respect to the driving skills of those people. Purely lovely.
I can scarcely believe this is real footage. Just a decade ago a picture like that only appeared in into videos to racing games. And the stuff that's happening on track, man oh man. Absolutely sublime.
I initially couldn't believe they still ran actual races, let alone endurance ones, with such a legendary grid of cars that I had to look up the event site. What a lineup! Thank you for having me discover that this event exists.
These drivers are absolute chads to be pushing these legends to the limit.
Beautiful. I experienced the 6H of Spa in 17' and it was truly something special, just like your films. What else is there to say other than to keep it up!
Spa is on our 2023 list, as the sensation of the Goodwood Revival is unfortunately steadily decreasing.
Some of the best racing footage I've seen so far. And I've seen it all.
This is what movies should be made like.
i love the pauses between shifts
Man, I love GT40 so much. The sound, the look, especially the shape of the body, headlights and those tri-stars in each wheel, so cool.
That angry growl shifting up through the gear box is pure mechanical symphony!
Magnificent Drive. Ragged edge of control when it was sunny and dry. True talent in the stormy night. Thanks for not ruining the epic sound.track of that V8.
The quality of your videos is unmatched!
The level of immersion is bending my mind.
Stunning footage. It gives you the full idea of what driving looked like back in those days. Scary
Massive respect for actually pushing this amazing machine to its limits! This is genuinely one of the coolest things I have ever seen in my life 💯
This is may not look eye-catching to most people but honestly this was so cool to me. The sound, the lights, the smell of petrol, that's an S tier video right there.
2:30 is the most amazing sound ive ever heard, slamming the gears while hearing that v8 roar.... nothing else compares to it.
What an absolute masterpiece of automotive cinematography. The raw sound of the engine, the gear shift, rain, lighting and on the edge racing.
Just fantastic 😇
Gives me chills!! The history behind that car, and the sheer luck to be able to take it on the track is huge!!
I dislike rich people sometimes lol.
the throttle response of that engine is remarkable and a joy to listen to !!
seeing gt40s in this quality feels like Rush in real life
10 seconds in you already know its another masterpiece. Thanks once again
Very cool video of actual events, showed attrition, close calls and spins. All racing stuff
That’s effing insane. The skill level, to drive those cars, like that, in those conditions, in amongst slower traffic, is truly ridiculous. Racers are different animals.
The tirespin out of the corners is simply glorious. The editing and sound production is right on target, every terrifying second of it.
I just saw this for the first time this morning and I've already watched it four more times
looks like it's straight out of a movie but a 100x better ! Stunning car and video
Was to Favourite to watch later... But couldn't stop viewing.
Incredible experience.
By the pilot, and by us.
Thank you.
Pure engine sounds, no tacky music or commentary 👍🏻 first time i’ve seen right hand gear change on a right hand drive car 🤔
This is my kind of driving, I could watch this for hours.
Night, rain, Spa, GT40! What a drive!
i love that its so raw footage and no speaking, this makes it look so cool and powerful.
This car is 57 years old and its still the coolest machine ever made
this was a cinematic masterpiece... somehow capturing the actual feeling of the moment. No other automotive related media, whether it be movies, youtube, or anything else, has given me the visceral feeling of actually being in the car, on the track, like real life, until this. Incredible cinematography work!
just got to the part where it's overcast and beginning to get wet. INCREDIBLE car control. You can really tell you're pushing the edge of grip both based against yourself and how you're driving, as well as based on the overtakes. Even with the spin, handled it beautifully, got back on, and didn't seem to damper the attack you have. That stint with the other white gt40 was NICE. Kept on them well and could tell they were feeling the push.
Was the spin, from what it looked like, from you trying to downshift 4th to 2nd with a double rev match in between? Maybe it just hooked up a bit too much (coming from a drifting scene it's a great way to get lock-up but often just gives way too much snap oversteer)
Last but not least, great dodge on the yellow gt40. Car seemed to actually handle the gravel pretty well!
INSANE driving!
I my ears have never felt so open, this is the kind of stuff that makes a man drool.
This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
What an insane race and I don’t know how you keep increasing the quality of this content but wow! Incredible
That's one HELL-OF-A ride! OUTSTANDING! No "words" necessary, I'll consider the engine sounds to be this video's "lecture"! Thanks for posting this!!!
Freaking amazing, this ticked every box for me. Gorgeous cinematography and totally captured the rawness of driving a GT40. The immersion I felt while watching this was incredible.
Just stumbled on this video- Fantastic work! As both active racer and historic Motorsports fan I must say you captured the essence and distilled it down perfectly! Judging by others’ comments on the channel this doesn’t seem to be coincidence either- subscribed👍
By far, my favourite channel. Thank you so much for uploading these amazing quality films! (And for linking the other race footage video!)
Great video with perfect sense of energy and mood of this wonderful event! Thank you!
I wish car videos were of a such high quality like your videos.
Absolutely fantastic, I had to share the video with a great friend of mine, and I know she will love it. Those cross ply radial tyres are a handful when the rain starts to come down. The skill set to try keep something like that on track in those conditions is just a task in itself. Thank you so much for such a great video have loved the GT40 for decades the sound and how they look just perfect.
Stunning camera work!!! This channel is such a gem! keep up the amazing work!!!
2022, this historic footage no matter what year filmed.
This is literally one of the best videos on UA-cam.
All I can say is thank you for uploading it. Man you drive it flat out!
Tremendous ! Pure & raw. Worth every second til the end
Absolutely amazing video! Thank you for sharing!
What a drive, what a great filming ! This car is amazing, I think that it’s not only a masterpiece but it’s also an achievement to beat the man at Le Mans 24h. That might be the reason why it’s one of my dreams cars.
This is one of the best things I've ever seen, it's absolutely awesome.
Dude. Told you couple of years ago already, but I'm so glad this finally blows up. Your work is incredible
This is mega... insanely well shot! Nice work folks 👍
what an amazing piece of footage. Bravo
This is so very COOL ! Iconic car at an iconic track. Very well shot - great audio - great editing! ! Makes my day - thanks for your efforts !!!
You always have the best shots. Great driving!
Wow, that is just beyond traitorous conditions, holy moly. Balls of steel and a god tier engine soundtrack!
This is the best thing I've seen in my life. Thanks!
What a great video. Brutal conditions it seems and for the most part was perfectly controlled. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing skills! Both driving and cinematographic. Could watch this all day and night!
Absolutely stunning work. My hands are sweaty and my pulse is racing. I can listen to this forever!!! Brilliant work. Very much Thank You for this. 😍😎🏁
There are very few engine sounds like that Ford V8 configured for the GT40, especially the 427 (7L) variant. Unbelievable, pure growl.
That looks like so much fun to drive, I would build myself a gt40 to be able to experience something like that for myself, but that requires money, facilities, and time. All which I don’t have a lot of
absolute pleasure to watch and listen too, fantastic driving
Gosh! If I had known you were in Francorchamps I would have come! It's partly thanks to you and your videos that I started working on it! I would have been honored to shake your hand! Nice video, as always!
Incredible! Thank you for sharing this video!
Great video Robbert. Music to my ears
Old race cars are such loud, violent, visceral experiences. Their very existence to do one thing becomes so cohesive; to go fast and win.
One of the best pure driving videos I have seen. And I have seen lots of them.
So glad i came across your channel. Fantastic work. Keep it up 👏
I think i found the kind of UA-cam channel who shares my passion for Classic Cars.. Lovin' every video Robbert! Cheers from Argentina 🤘🏻
The amount of skills it takes to drive this car in this track is unbelievable
Hope that you enjoy as much as we can see, that's really awesome
Amazing Video ,incredible driving, and the sound is awesome!
My dad worked for Holman and Moody in the late 60's and early 70's.
This is such a great thing.
Thanks for this!
How do you have only 15k subs!?!? The things you create are not only some of highest quality, most cinematic automotive media I've ever seen, but just media in general! This is some real talent and I really hope you get the recognition you deserve.
This is excellent. Thanks for sharing.
If I was a director THIS is what more than half the movie would be
holy hell, how have I not known about this channel before? your content is simply amazing dude, keep up the good work!
On board absurdly visceral for car lovers this is a work of art in video, thx for this!
SPA in the night just look incredible hard 🤯
most underrated channel in history
6 minutes pure shiver! Wow!
Fantastic! Saw it from the outside and loved the driving style! 👌🏼
this is not sound or noise, this is not brutal , this is a melody , a symphony , a lullaby
A beautiful track full of beautiful cars. Wonderful film.
Beautiful images !! And that amazing sound ofc !
Tbh i didn’t watch most of the actual video I just closed my eyes and listened to the sound
no words, I love everything about this
So cool to see the onboards of this car after watching the race at Spa and photographing this exact car!
One of the best Racing Videos i have ever seen!!!!!!!!!
