As a Flemish Belgian living in Australia, I went and saw this heartbreakingly beautiful movie last night at the Sommerville in Perth. WOW! What a stellar cast and how realistic their performances. So raw, so real, so painful.... At the end, people just stayed in their seats. It's one of those movies that stays with you. Thanks also for the beautiful Flemish scenery!
Cannot wait to see!! This song overwhelms me into sobbings every single time. I believe it to be a centuries-old folk-song from Appalachia ~ does any one out there know? Thank you, Laura!!
Lucinda - do NOT see this film. It is a great film , but it will break your heart and you do not need that. Just enjoy the soundtrack. please trust me on this.
Thank you, love. Thank you! I will thoroughly trust you on this. My life is tenuous at best, lately - Neptune transits... ask Nicole, she's able to interpret!! Thanks for advice!
Laura Albert I watched the film...music and story are incredible and oh so sad... I usually do not cry at cinema.... but I really cried for over this film...not just tears but a real cry from my heart.
INCREDIBLE movie and story line. a true tear jerker. Body chilling vocals, strings and i can;t even say anymore, thinking about it is bringing tears to my eyes.
This movie is just amazing. I hope that Belgium continues to produce movies of this quality as all that America is doing is producing rubbish at the moment.
Lucy Mudgway Dear Lucy, if you want a list of recent movies, I would suggest you to see (propably heard before), "The Fault in Our Stars", "Her", "Captain Philips", "12 Years a Slave", "All is Lost", "Blue Jasmine", "What Maisie Knew", "The Spectacular Now", just to name a few. And, also, you could advice the site imdb.com. That is where I'm getting informed about movies. And for the present I'm so much looking forward to see "Boyhood". FYI, there has never been such a direction in movies before. It's been rumored since now in the mid-2014 that it is a very strong candidate for winning the Oscars. The director is Richard Linklater, who has directed the "Before..." Trilogy (the last one "Before Midnight" was filmed in the beautiful Southern Peloponnese of my country Greece). Search it out on imdb.com and you'll see what i mean. I hope i helped.
Lucy Mudgway one film I thought was good was "boyhood". another would be: the James Brown movie if you like James Brown, Get On Up, although it was produced by the rolling stones witch are British. Maybe I need to make more films. here is a simple humble one I made... a short "The Restaurant" hope you like it: vimeo.com/10657458 I liked a few of the above as well. Rick
No mention of the song's author in the title?? Let me help you out. Townes Van Zandt was his name and he was a complex man and a genius songwriter. Respectfully you really should give context and credit when posting videos. That said these two are wonderful together and their version of this classic is one of my favourites. I Loved the film and wept often while watching.
Its an age old subject. I do believe the Judeo Christian message and even in the general content and message of the Bible in particular the message of sacrifice for others but God per se I can't get my head around despite the awesome nature of creation. It a conundrum I can't fathom, wish I could
Belgische trots, de afgelopen jaren kregen onze Vlaamse films zeer veel lof. The broken circle breakdown is zowiezo de kers op de taart. Veel respect voor de acteerkunsten van Johan Heldenbergh
Unlike most of the music in this wonderful bluegrass film, this song is of fairly recent vintage by the great Fort Worth singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt. Check him out if you like this song, he has lots more.
Best aardige uitvoering, Doch voor Insiders: 1982: Op Elpee -Songs To Cover You- Ruud Hermans en Jony de Boer, met Europa's No.1 Country Band van destijds: TULSA.
I don't think I have cried this much in any other movie as I have in this one... So incredibly pure and beautiful! Amazing!!!
Quelque chose qui vous emporte émotionnellement à l'infini 🤗🌷
This is a wonderful & powerful movie, I have listened to this song again and again and can not get enough of it. Music has such great power!

"The Broken Circle Breakdown" is devastatingly great Just sat & sobbed at ending. Perfection.
Cannot wait to see!! This song overwhelms me into sobbings every single time. I believe it to be a centuries-old folk-song from Appalachia ~ does any one out there know? Thank you, Laura!!
Lucinda Riva It's a song by Townes Van Zandt, released the first time in 1972 on the album 'The Late Great Townes Van Zandt'.

These guys have some awesome harmony. It is great to see this kind of music coming to the big screen with such talented performers.
One of the best songs ever written by Townes Van Zandt! One of the best movies I've ever seen by amazing Flemish musicians from Belgium!

Excellent story, music and and cinematography although I watched it ALL through tears in my eyes. It sets the tone within the first 5 minutes.
The best soundtrack EVER! These two are FANTASTIC! Their English is PERFECT, too!

C'est un film magnifique. La musique est extraordinaire. Les acteurs excellents. Je n'ai que des superlatifs.

Me too

America is not producing rubbish. It's just that the rubbish are getting globally promoted and the valuable ones promoted on a far less scale
Can you name me some recent good American movies as I would love to watch them...thanks
Lucy Mudgway
