Phenol incidentally is a chemical present nowhere in the digestive system so I don't know why that would be even worth mentioning.

If you microwave them use DEFROST. Defrost is a pulse setting so the on/off cycle will cause the Peep to expand and contact slightly. This will make it look like it’s breathing.
I've never eaten them, never seen them, never heard of them, and then this just comes up in my recommended list. I don't even think they make them where I live.
