There are a few components to learning German online . One plan I found that succeeds in merging these is the Landra Language Tactic (google it if you're interested) definately the most useful resource that I have ever found. Look at the super info .

Gute Nacht Anja! I took German in school for about 7 years and learned some but I hadn't kept up with it for a few years until last year when I got into it again. I started on Duolingo but it gets repetitive and I learn stuff I necessarily might not need. I will be moving to Germany this year so I decided to start from the beginning and take this seriously! Guten Abend. I'm 69 and have never had any ability with languages. However, in recent years I have forced myself to the stage where I can hold a simple conversation in Italian. Last month I went to Prague and for the six weeks prior to the trip I crammed Czech and it made Italian seem simple by comparison. However, what I was able to learn made the trip much more enjoyable. I'm going to Mainz near Frankfurt in February so am now concentrating on German and am finding it easy to progress. I have found that dipping into the country's history and geography (and food) also helps,
Being able to assimilate and speak a country's language makes the visit so much more enjoyable. I studied Polish for only 2 months before visiting, I couldn't hold a conversation to save my life, but I could at least read and understand the context of signage, and ask very simple questions if needed just to get around. Some cashier was even surprised that I even knew the difference between "L" and "Ł" lol, that's how little effort some of us Americans put into learning languages and foreign cultures these days.

I too plan to move to Germany to finally be with the real love of my life, after I "finish" here...wish we could "meet" and help each other learn. Also try "Learn German" series...from Patreon.com, I have learned a LOT through it. Then I will take classes there to get my A1 and work on up to B1 so I can live there forever with her. Happy to be here and watch your videos. I used to learn German at primary school and high school, I actually chose German as one of the subjects for my final exams during my graduation at high school (die Abitur). But I have forgot quite a lot since my graduation. So I thought it would be helpful to start learning the language all over again from the basics. And hopefully get to the B1/B2 level in German that I used have years ago. 🙂

Anja, I never learned any international Language, I am from India and know Hindi as my national Language, Bengali as my mother tongue, and few other regional language, the only international Language as of now I know is English, I am educator, and liked the way you explain. I want to learn German with you, there is no specific reason, just to know a language and without forgetting to mention, you but indeed a good teacher.

In Spanish you say "buenas tardes" the equivalent to "guten Abend" after 12pm, not necessarily when its getting dark. Always found that interesting.

as someone who is trying to learn german without a school class, I tried an app called duolingo. as good as that app was at teaching, and as much as I learned from it, I find your videos very easy and a great refresher. im originally English, but im trying to get into the habit of speaking german. even if im not going to ever speak it to some one in person, I do find a lot of people who speak german in games. german to me is a really cool language, and I love singing in german because its just so beautiful to me. not to mention one of my favorite musicals, is originally german.
other than that, you've gained a new sub! just bye your first video, im already learning so much. even if I already knew most of this, the understanding between gute, guten, and the different ways of saying bye, have brought me to a better level of understanding german. danke for this video, and auf wiedersehen!

Hallo Anja Guten Morgan ! Im learning German becuase there was a new student that came to my school she can only speak German so for now we just text each other but now I can learn it form these AMAZING lessons and from her! Danke Anja
I watch this video as a person who already learned to "speak" German at B1 level. But the truth is that maybe I am level A2 at understanding and level A1 at speaking. :/ So I decided to learn everything again to get fluent at speaking because now it is very hard for me to make sentences fast in German. Fortunately I can understand common texts in German perfectly, but longer talking is hard for me to translate. And that's one of the problems. I shouldn't translate all the time, I don't do this with English as well. I just listen and understand. I have to learn to understand German immediately after hearing. So I give a try to your channel.
