This is an incomplete programme from early 1981. BBC Radio 2 Ballroom was a long running series, and by this stage Sydney Thompson's Orchestra was a regular. I liked, and still do, the sound, style and excellence of this orchestra. The arrangements are worth listening to, although this was very much a "dance" orchestra. Sydney was a dancer, not a musician, so he engaged the very best to direct his players. Leon Young is probably not a name many now will remember, but he must get credit for the quality of this music.
